Many people seems to have a misconception about the department. Firstly, unlike other police services wherein one is required to go through training after selection, here in HG is different. First they'll put up a notification inviting interested individuals for VOLUNTARY training (Appointment is not guaranteed) after the training, they'll be called upon whenever needed... and if the need arises for requisition, they'll select from the trained volunteers to be inducted in as HomeGuard Personnel... Btw, HomeGuard is not a regularized govt. job as in they do not enjoy the benefits like other govt. servants do... They work on daily wage system. Hope this clarifies most of the misconceptions.
