Pretty cool explanation although I was puzzled by your use of the word "accumulator" as that has a mostly specific meaning referring to the building or storing of a resource in a generic sense. It took me a moment to realize what you meant, but the term you'd want to use in English would be "Battery" to better convey the function. In any case you have a new subscriber!
@andynormancx6 ай бұрын
Although in English we pretty much always use the word battery now, accumulator did used to be the generally used word. Back when people had radio sets as large as furniture they used to take their accumulator (a lead acid battery) to the local shop to swap it for one that was charged (then the shop would charge it and give it to another customer).

@@valgear5525 Can the Acog be disconnected and used on rifles? or does it have no use anymore? not even in emergencies?
@RogerJL Жыл бұрын
Even if the launcher was reloadable, the missiles would require a packaging to make it protected for bumping into things. My assumption is that most of the electronics is in the missile itself, only switches, power, acog on the shell. Making it reusable would also make it heavier, handle wear of multiple firings. Firing would also be slower, now every NLAW carried can be fired at once (limited only by team size)

@dogsnads56349 ай бұрын

@beesnakeable9 ай бұрын
@@dogsnads5634 Good lord, that is some quality optics for a disposeable weapon.
@dogsnads56349 ай бұрын
@@beesnakeable Think of it this way. Most longer range single shot AT weapons need a scope, and most will have a specially developed one specific to that weapon. The cost to develop and manufacture those will far outweigh the cost of putting a bulk purchased ACOG on NLAW (imagine the discount when you purchase 25,000 at once...). The genius of NLAW is that all the clever stuff is inside the rocket, essentially using the systems necessary to keep the rocket stable and accurate as a fire control system.

@dogsnads56349 ай бұрын
NLAW is a shorter range AT missile. It was made for a British Army requirement to replace the LAW80. Essentially NLAW is the section level AT weapon, with Javelin as the Platoon/Company system. Making it reloadable would not really do anything apart from add a lot more weight, and remember its supposed to be carried around by infantry all the time. The tubes are cheap. the sights are cheap. To make those stronger for re-use would cost lots more and add more complexity and weight. The clever stuff is all in the missile...
