This is exactly why I have such hatred for drunk/impaired drivers. That guy thoroughly sickens me. He's so drunk he can't form a coherent sentence, laughs and doesn't even ask about the people he's injured. He's a disgusting useless piece of human filth. Mad respect to the officers dealing with him for being patient with him even when he didn't deserve it.

Not to make excuses, but he just got a massive concussion. Even 100% sober, you'd have a hard time thinking after an impact like that. I got hit with an airbag going 45 and getting asked the street I was on was like trying to answer a calculus question!

@doodleartlover Man I could not have said it better. And it seems like almost always the drunk people walk away from accidents like this while the innocent ones pay the price with injury or even death being inflicted on them . I still cannot get over the other video with the girl who was told by the policeman that was at the hospital with her that she had killed two people, and all she could think about was hoping she does not miss her next days classes at college. I have learned to quit asking "How much worse can it get?"

I am incredibly relieved and surprised that noone was fatally injured. That looked like it had to have been a deadly crash. Certainly he deserves a long sentence, but the solution is complicated. Obviously better community awareness is always helpful, ie: report drunk drivers, don't let friends drive drunk (especially, absolutely, if you think they are blacked-out drunk. Better to get in a fight or call the cops on them first). In this case, it sounds like he may have been an alcoholic and just relapsed and drinking solo to this point. So it would be hard for anyone to police him. Not any easy solutions to that, but many alcoholics will encounter problems with the law before they cause near-fatal accidents and should learn quickly to instinctively avoid getting behind the wheel in such a state.

In that moment he was willing to risk his own life for the 2 civilians but bc of how fast that man was driving and how hard that impact was, they all ended up getting seriously injured. To hear the officers cried and the screaming from the other civilians was heartbreaking! The POV cop really took control of the situation in that horrible moment and controlled his emotions in that high stress situation. He checked on everyone and did a damn good job at relaying the information about all parties to the dispatcher. He definitely gets a round of applause 👏🏽 This is they type of cop that is needed and should be rewarded! I just pray everyone involved gets better soon and returns to a strong and healthy life!

I was injured in a auto-pedestrian accident when I was 15yrs old. To say this is maddening is an understatement. These women and officer that were nearly killed by an idiot that not only drank himself into oblivion, chose to drive being severely impaired. Those victim's will face long and painful recovery depending on the injuries sustained. The drunk driver likely sustained only minor injuries due to his level of intoxication. My heart goes out to the victim's injured in this horrible accident.

An excerpt from an article in “The Santa Fe New Mexican”: The impact with the police vehicles catapulted Floehr’s SUV toward the state police officer and the two women, as well as a nearby GMC Yukon, the report said. When Floehr’s vehicle landed, it collided with the left rear corner of the Yukon, crushing the officer and one of the women against the Yukon. The officer sustained injuries to his leg and chest area, and the woman’s arm was “partially severed,” the report said.
