Man, seriously you got me so hooked on the pirc defense that I've been scoring 62,5% in my games with black and only 48% with white, so I decided to start playing a3 with white just so I could do what I do in the pirc and it's actually working haha. Feeling pumped to learn the Sicilian as well

Just reached 1500 on lichess with the Anderson opening as white (A3)
@dhruvdust18123 жыл бұрын
@@joelvanegas9167 i feel that playing a3 as first move is a large psychological factor that throws the opponent off of the mark. I mean, a3 simply means White wants to play as black, but it's such an insulting way of starting the game that black mostly just loses the psychological war.

@@dhruvdust1812 EXACTLY. Being my elo rating, you would be so surprised by how many times I’ve seen my opponents taking 10 seconds before there first move. I’ve actually studied A3 more and found out a line after playing A3, play C4 which is of course the English

@@davidbatchelder85 Yes David Roberto is awesome. The Czech pirc video # 51 has been so valuable for me. It gets me into the middle game safely and I play it as black or white. I'm satisfied to just play the pirc. My bishops an knights have more freedom. Board vision is better. I'm about to start improving my endgame play which hurts my game with good players.

The thing that I love about Robert's channel is that he has the mindset of a professional coach who also helps kids. It might seem a little crazy that we're on video 112 and we're getting to the Sicilian. But he knows the background that he should expect his audience to have at this point. That makes this a Sicilian video that's at the perfect level for me at this point.

Great review, love the Kveinis variation for bullet chess and got two remarks: 1. After 5. Nc3 Lc5, 6. Nce2 is pretty common and often ends in the checkmate shown or 6...e5 7. Nf5 Bxf2 8. Kd2 g6 winning a piece because otherwise it's checkmate. In the 6. Na4 variation there is a trap not shown here: 6... Qa5+ 7. c3 Bxd4 8. Qxd4 Nf6 and now 9. Bd3? is not uncommon but loses a piece to Nc6 10. Qc4 Ne5 and the bishop or knight is lost due to the overworked queen. I think I have never encountered 6. Ncb5 and hardly 6. Ndb5 at around 2000. Most just play 6. Nxc6 😊

I remember when I first studied the Sicilian in the early stages of 2016 from both perspectives of white and black, I used the regular dragon, but then in late 2016 I started playing the Hyper Accelerated dragon and stuck to it from there until I recently got bored using the opening every time I encountered e4 with the black pieces looking for a change against e4, and of course I would find that change watching your Pirc videos as I now use the Czech Pirc against e4
@Leeedy_13 жыл бұрын
@Neo-Con Atheist If white plays h3 before I intend to put it on g4, I’ll play h6 and then put the bishop on e6 so white can’t try to harass it with Ng5. But I agree, people say it’s boring just bc it’s not very aggressive, and in my honest opinion, aggressive chess is great and all, but at the same time it’s kinda overrated. Positional chess nowadays doesn’t get enough love
@Leeedy_13 жыл бұрын
@Neo-Con Atheist yeah it is bc the e5 push is meant to hit the center after white defends the e4 pawn attacked by the knight on f6 given that the queen on a5 is meant to pin white’s c3 knight. After e5 you just soundly finish your development with Bg4/h6-Be6, Be7, O-O, Nbd7 (Castling queenside can become an option, too) and in case they ever play dxe5, you just simply take back with the d6 pawn. To add on one more thing, there is a trick behind Bg4 where if white’s not careful, black can take that f3 knight and win a pawn. Incase you wanna check that out, Rob Ramirez goes over it in a video on the Czech Pirc
@Leeedy_13 жыл бұрын

@NMRobertRamirez3 жыл бұрын
Hello! We will certainly talk more about this topic, but as I have mentioned in other lessons, it mainly comes down to exposing yourself to it. As you play more blitz, you will become more comfortable with time pressure. Just be patient and enjoy the process. We all have been there. Anyways, we will continue to reinforce this in future lessons 👍💪 Elo anxiety will also be overcome as you continue to move up the ladder. We typically struggle with a certain rating until we break through it and then get stuck again and even go down. Then, we break through all the way to a new level.
