One of the best, if not the best, interviews with Neal I've seen to date. Love the stories. You both need to write your autobiographies. Universe is amazing. Can't wait to hear the new Journey.

Man I can’t wait to hear this stuff!!! For me , having Narada is going to be incredible..... I wish they would bring Rollie back for that ‘feel’. I think the vocals with him and now Arnel would have that sound that nobody else has.....

Loved the interview Narada, specially the part where Neal talks about his first band Old Davis, who amongst other stuff played THE BAND and Country Stuff. How cool is that? I would die for a recording of that period. plus you are a monster drummer. Greetings from Portugal.

Thank you Narada and Neil for sharing such amazing musical history🎼🤘🏻 I agree about modern guitarist lacking soul and melody, but guys there are notable exceptions, and can I draw your attention to a young English guitarist, Alex Hutchings. Alex is at the pinnacle of technical dexterity and widely recognised as such, but since his two greatest influences were George Benson and Frank Gambale, he has all that soul and melody in abundance. Alex recently toured the world with Steven Wilson, and has a ton of material on YT. Narada if ever you get the chance, check him out as I know you could make amazing music together 🎸🌈

Mr Narada I just found out one of your credits is JERMAINE STEWARTS we don't have to take our clothes off. That's gotta be a highlite in your career and I have loved that track since I first heard it in 86. That chorus melody is so wonderful and the na na naas are priceless. Was there something that influenced you composing that part of the song?... ABRAXIS is a great album for Santana by the way I m born 04/52.

Man this was a great interview! Touched on some subjects where as fans could only speculate on. It was nice to hear on the Augeri/Soto transitions. Great hearing you both speak positively on Perry. I loved it all! Thanks! Just needed a sneak peak, or update, on the new Journey album! Can’t wait!!

I worked a Mr Big show in the 90s with Hardline opening ( Neil & Dean’s band) . Saw Neil walking around during soundcheck and he looked like he could take care of himself if he got in a fight, he has powerful looking hands. Legend.

Journey has gone through numerous singers and none of them fit the Journey sound Freedom has good songs but because Pineda doesn't have the chops to fill those spaces in songs they all fall flat like Pineda's voice- This is all on Schon because he could have gotten a really good soul singer to fill those shoes but he chose a guy that copies singers who can't sing original songs by the band, Schon should have asked Pineda for original songs he wrote before hiring him to make a determination of whether to go with him Pineda is an emulator of singers not a person that can sing his own songs, just because someone sings well live does not equate to hits of your own material- LIve music hides flaws that a singer has whereas in the studio its brings out every nuance of the voice and tonal quality

Well, hmm, I can't wait to see what new music Journey has come up with, will it be any good without Steve Perry, they haven't had a good one since Trial By Fire.. Hmm yes we will see.
@Jihavoh7773 жыл бұрын
I’ve enjoyed their entire catalog but I get where some only love the Perry stuff, but Revelation was a solid, solid album. Arnel isn’t Perry and so it isn’t classic Journey in that sense, but that album was good.
