he is saying we are best in technique but the fact is our sprinters are lacking technical knowledge and unfortunately our coaches too . there is no lack of support , no lack of facilities and we are not psychologically weak . iis and jsw coach hiller is doing a great job with gujjur ,amlan and all other players .

Very true what Amiya said about Gurindervir being psychologically stronger. But psychology is not enough to compete in a popular sport on the world stage. It would be tragic to see him struggling and burning out due to lack of a solid support system in this country. If you just want to win nationals then going on with "atmanirbhar" strategy is okay. But if you want to run sub 10 second times in the 100 m - that result will need a different input, and a lot more monetory backing. Let's be practical enough to understand what kind of support an athlete needs to run 100m in 10 seconds and under. The training, the international exposure, the nutrition, the equipment and gear - everything costs money. How long can they survive on their own? Gurvinder is a diamond, he just needs a little support to help him shine brightly. Neeraj's Olympic glory did not come by just hard work in the backyard. It took the best international coaching and exposure. I don't think Gurindervir said no to sponsorship - we need to ask why sponsorship is not coming quickly enough to someone who is winning consistently - and so cleanly. It is wrong to say he wants to do it on his own. Let's get real, this is not a Bollywood movie. We should keep emotional foolhardiness aside and apply science and wisdom as required. We are losing because we are not mentally in the game. Amiya himself said, as Indians it is our mindset which is holding us back, not our technique. We need to dump the "atmanirbhar' mindset - or we need to at least rethink what we mean when we say Atmanirbhar. Just dreaming about it and working hard in the garage will not bring 9.90s on the scoreboard...
