Thank God , HAL did not got this contract otherwise they would have messed up the whole project with silly and lame excuses like COVID , supply chain issues , lack of trained manpower , lack of samosas in the canteens , very small order and lack of previous experience . When HAL order book is full , they should deliver the products at given Datelines . Now India should quickly for 100 , 200 and 300 seaters civilian and military aircraft .

It’s assembly plant, I don’t know if engine will be built in India, what India needs is Engine, aerodynamics and all is already existing. No country will allow to build engine in another country, Apple also never builds Chip in another country.

The importance is as it has pressurised cabins and hence are able to fly at high altitudes. It has European Aviation Safety Agency certificate of airworthiness. It replaces An-32 & Avro which replaced (40s to 80s) DC3 Dakota. These types of deals have happened before in our history. It also has EW Self Protection suite or wideband radar warning receivers. And, is better than China's ARJ21 with capacity of similar nos of passengers.

no matter what kind of new aircrats indians buy from other countries will be a old model for them if they are selling commercial aircraft that means they have 100X better aircraft or weapons or tech which wont be for sale or aircarfts which we cannot imagine. so if indians are thinking they have best of aircarfts it means indian has better then may be Pakistan or bangaldesh or some underdevoloping countries till India does not upgrade their R&D department and start to build their own its very difficult to say indianshave the best of the best, and whats with finance issues should have some shame in a country of billion ppl if we cannot make more money or up our finance then we cannot become the top 3 country also. us UK are tiny population but they have more tech resources then us maybe russsians and Chinese have upper hand in tech and resource to compete with top players.
