Why would anyone be bothered with some strange symbols? The ethereal society is just a foreign or Hindu version and a spiritual interface of the same OJUJU shrines in your villages.The secular framework of the Nigerian constitution may allow for the gathering of people to be registered as a church even though it may not be a Christian fold. The word church has not been copyrighted by Christian organisations in Nigeria so anybody may use it as a legal description of the purpose of a particular gathering. I am a Christian, but I think people of other faith like Muslims, traditionalists also have constitutional rights to practice their faith. Right to religion is a fundamental human right as long as YOU ARE NOT COMMITTING CRIME, ENGAGING IN CRIMINAL RITUAL PROCEEDINGS, DECEPTIONS AND A THREAT TO NATIONAL SECURITY.

Church simply means assembly, gathering etc. So, church per se is not exclusive to Christianity. For example church in Aramaic translate as synagogue, but question is whose church is it?

Its difficult to trace the origin of Hinduism because it has no founder. It is a compilation of several belief systems. Unlike Christianity or Judaism, Hinduism is not an organized religion. As such, it is sometimes referred to as the "family of religions" because of its accommodating nature. Hinduism was birthed out of a fusion of two cultures. At some point, around 1500 B.C, the Indo-Ayran people migrated to the Indus Valley, located in modern-day Pakistan, where their culture & language merged with the natives of that region. Hinduism evolved out of that unique context and grew to accommodate both cultures as they morphed into one people. So to say that Hinduism was way before Christianity, is just not true. Just to let you know, Christians believe that God loves everyone so much that he gave us freewill, to choose if we will love & accept God & follow him. Christians just want to spread the amazing words of God to everyone and then they can choose for themselves. We love you and just want you to know that God loves you. Ohh...and it's not just a "white" religion. It is a religion of every color on earth, for we are all the same people created from God, just some have diffrent skin tones just like people have diffrent hair & eye colors.

Church is not restricted to followers of the Bible or Christianity. Church, temple, shrine, doesn't matter what it is called. It's just a place people with like-minded beliefs gather. Let's not forget, Yeshua was not a churchgoer. So his followers need not get overly attached to the name of the building.
