Nice piece, but on what we now call Aba women riot, it didn't start from Owerri or Aba, it started right at Ikot Abasi, don't forget Ikot Abasi was like the seat of power, its started right there and later spread into other province, and I also think all this falsification in our history has to be corrected for proper documentation. And on the building the little I know about it is that, the building was a kind of save used by the British to store their valuable, don't forget the British were merchants on many commodities, setting up camps in different regions in a form of transshipment centre for easy connectivity, while they were into the slave trade business, they were also exploiting other valuable from Africa, such as the minerals deposited beneath,if is what they telling you, the British would have open it to bring out their brothers, what people believe is that there may still be some valuable items inside the save, because they lock the place when leaving Nigeria, and there must have had a very solid reason for locking it,so is left for us to clear our curiosity by opening the save to at least know what's inside.

The protest began at Owerri maybe riot began at Ikot Abasi but protest started when women from some places in Umuahia traveled to Owerri to protest and that is what sparked protest in other places like Aba, Calabar, Igwenga (Ikot Abasi)

That door actually looks like a bank vault door. Many banks have similar design of vault doors, if you see vault doors in old Union Bank and First Bank branches. Vaults walls are usually thicker than normal and old British doors never really go bad. They should reach out to the vault door makers like Chubb so that they can find a way to open it. There may be a makers name attached to that door.

The first British Bank in Nigeria was the Bank of British West Africa (BBWA), which was established in 1894. It was a British bank that operated in Nigeria during the colonial era. The bank was later renamed Barclays Bank of Nigeria in 1957, and then Barclays Bank Nigeria Limited in 1969. In 1971, the bank was listed on the Nigerian Stock Exchange. However, if you're referring to the first British bank to be granted a banking license in Nigeria after independence, it was Standard Chartered Bank (formerly Standard Bank of West Africa), which was granted a license in 1999.
