In this little chat, Tylluan discusses the pull we feel towards this festival at the end of October. Halloween, Samhain, call it what we will, why do we need a festival of light and death at this time of year? She talks also about the need to make connections at this time of year in order that our spiritual seeds may have a chance of survival through the coming winter.
You can find out more about Tylluan and her writing at www.thewolfenhowlepress.com
Her books are available to buy as modestly priced paperbacks from shop.thewolfen...
And some (but not all) are also available as Kindle downloads from your local Amazon store. Please do not be tempted with offers of 'free pdf' copies that you may find on the internet. These are pirated copies (i.e. stolen) and there is no guarantee what you are getting. Plus it is very unethical to steal spiritual reading!

A poem came to mind this morning while cleaning and storing away the summer gear. " Can you feel it in the air? Samhain is coming near. The veil becoming very sheer as the ghostly ghouls draw ever near to help those souls who live in fear, listen says the ghostly ghoul, as I have much for you to hear, I am not the one to fear, so listen clear with an open ear, to hear my whispers within the air ".

We always have celebrated Samhain here in Ireland. Turnip heads, handmade masks, song, dance and bin fires. It unfortunately become more American in the past 10-20 years, but we still have a good bit of pagan in us here I'm glad to say

I always felt that Calan Gaeaf had always had a sense of rejuvenation and a time for relaxation and time to talk with ancestors and focus on healing, also a time to mark the thinning veil and harvest, which have always meant a sense of life to me. Maybe I'm weird.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts on Samhain. I always look forward to your videos. I have a couple of questions. When the veil is thin and our ancestors are near, are our animals that we once loved so very much that have passed away close by? My second question, what about negative behavior/attitudes that we have shed. It's kind of a death. Would it be appropriate to do something for this as well? Or am I missing the meaning completely? Wishing you many blessings. Thank you!
@tylluanpenry3233
@tylluanpenry3233 7 жыл бұрын
I think both the people and the animals we have loved are never very far away. And at this time of year (along with the period around Beltane) it's much easier to feel and contact them. Shedding negative behaviour etc., is indeed a kind of death, but I think with people and animals they are organic, which is slightly different. There is no correct meaning for this festival, just what feels right to us, and it may change down the years. But that is all part of the spiritual path. Blessings, Tylluan :-)
