In today's edition, former Big 12 offensive lineman Brien Hanley is joined by Kansas State managing editor Ryan Gilbert and Colorado publisher Adam Munsterteiger to focus on Saturday night's game in Coulders between the Wildcats and Buffaloes. Each Wednesday, the Insiders focus on the most prominent Big 12 games of the week.

CU has proven it can stop a running team, however, KSU failed at proving it can stop a passing team. I believe, for consecutive CU games, Vegas has gotten it drastically, wrong.

It will be very hard to compete with 2 losses at this point of the season. You still have West Virginia on the road. This is a bigger game for you.

If CU beats, or rather embarrasses, a UCF team people said would compete for the conference championship, (on the road, in a tough stadium), then comes home and beats a ranked KSU that everyone had as 1 of the 2 best teams in the conference, the logical conclusion would have to be that a) CU is better than anyone expected, and still improving b) CU can already beat/compete with anyone in the conference and c) CU is 3-0 in conference, and tied for the lead. Why wouldn't you assume at that point that CU could possibly win it, and at least compete for it? BTW, if you look at both the stats and the game film, you can see that CUs O-line has been playing better and better, which makes sense since they're starting 5 new guys, and it takes more time for the O-line to gel than other other part of the team. You also see that our D is improving, and our Xs and Os are improving. There is every reason to think CU is still getting better.

I don't know who will win this game but the loser will have a real uphill battle to get to a conference championship. A conference schedule where every team doesn't play every other team makes it hard to make up ground and tiebreakers are dicey. KSU isn't real good on the road, but on paper should be the better team. Will be interesting game.

It is very easy to beat Colorado. Stop the pass game and it's over. They are one dimensional. 95 percent of their plays are pass plays.

@Drumwolf62 simple, but not easy. Kstate secondary just hasn't been that great, though they played well against Arizona, and did make plays against OSU 2nd half. This is a tougher test. I think Kstate will need to lean in to a strong pass rush.

Except that CU has arguably the best QB in college this year, and a top 3 WR group. CU has a minimum of 4 wide receivers that can shred a defense, and our O-line and run game are improved this year. So "stop the pass" isn't an easy task.
