No 73 How do I know if I am a witch?

This is a question Tylluan receives several times a month in her mail box, so she felt this would be a good place to talk about it here - and if it doesn't cover everything, please don't worry because there will be a second part (at least!) soon!

Don’t worry. Witches are healers. Jesus was a healer. Christianity is confused. Hundreds of years ago, Christianity was forced into people and powerful people wanted to abolish pagan religions so they told them their religions were evil. As long as you are doing healing work, and working towards the greater good, you certainly aren’t doing evil. Witches can do evil if they choose to use their gifts to cause harm and work with evil spirits but as long as you are working with the light, and with the divine, whatever you may call it, you are simply practicing what our ancestors practiced and what every religion originally stemmed from. Every religion started with spiritual experience and people who were gifted spiritually. Shamans, healers, medicine people, witches, they all point to the same thing. People who connected with the divine. Jesus falls into that category. How else would they gain any spiritual knowledge? Christianity means well and there is good in the church but there are a lot of teachings that were introduced by people with the intention of controlling people by controlling their beliefs. Cruel things were done in the name of Christianity. Medieval torture for one. Which is against the actual teachings of Christ. The gnostic texts were hidden and only found in the last century and put emphasis on spiritual experience. Not just listening to the interpretations of priests and pastors. There have also been Christian mystics who the church acknowledged. Don’t worry. Just be careful to stay in the light and don’t do any incantations without fully understanding what you are getting into. There are dark energies out there. Part of spiritual giftedness involves fighting that darkness but that requires building your vibration and learning how to protect yourself. That is the only thing you need to worry about. I am the same!! I have always been drawn to witchcraft, but growing up it was considered evil and against God. But now as a 16 year old, after learning more and diving deeper, I see it as a way to expand my spirituality and get closer to God, and to use what God has given us instead of being scared of it and distancing yourself from witchy items. I believe God gave us crystals for reasons, not just to look pretty, and same with herbs and other things. Good luck with your craft and journey!! God bless💖

Thank you for confirming the need to be a "critical thinker" when it comes to following a spiritual path. I've never been able to follow anything unquestioningly and actually felt bad about it. Just found your channel. Thanks for the message you share, it's a much needed breathe of fresh air. I have never labeled myself a witch outside of private conversations with my husband whose dearly departed first wife was also a witch (she is my best friend although we never met in the flesh), so this public reply is a first for me. lol. It's not like standing up in an AA meeting to declare myself an alcoholic but more like saying that I have brown and gray hair. My husband and kids also know who I am although the adult kids have never labeled me as far as I know, in fact they would be surprised if I told them that I am. Labeling and pigeon holing folks is not something I taught them to do to people as it is disrespectful. I am who I am and why things happen in my world that are a bit unexpected (by others, not by me) is just how things work. People who know me bring me dying things (primarily farmers) and I nurture them (interestingly most of them will say "please work your magic on this little one", no label being uttered) and if it is time for them to live , they do, which has been the outcome in so many instances. Rules about being a witch? Like you, nobody has the right to make them for me. Do I look the part in my dress or bearing? No, because I am not playing a part. It is who I am. I like some things in my dress or in my world that others may deem eccentric, whatever.. My husband is a farm mechanic and folks bring him their dying old machinery and he raises them from the dead, he is known as a good "old school" farm mechanic, and "old school " horse trainer. Well, I guess I am an "old school" witch, yet folks would be shocked to hear me say it. Thanks for sharing the message, folks need to become enlightened as to what is means to be a witch. If they can respect and appreciate the witches among us life would be better for all of us, just as they are for people who bring their old machinery to my husband for him to work his "magic". I am your newest subbie. Now, out to the barn with me where a broodie hen has chicks hatching and my dear donkey is needing her morning love connection. (Oh the stories I could tell, but you know them already).

Agreed.. I too prefer to analyze things, and find my truths that speak to me or peak my interest keenly as an individual. I was shown lots of things such as raising energy and creating power balls to send for purposes such as healing, and all sorts of things from eclectic and strega folks running a then local mystical shop, plus I've read a lot and I was told to always snuff out a candle, never blow it out. Never once did I encounter the use of the breath, such as you've kindly shared.. I've learned about blowing tobacco from another tradition of a friend but, I wasn't too keen on that one. But, I absolutely love that you've shared that things don't need to be so complicated, that it can be as simple as like blowing a kiss. I know it's largely intention and the interesting ways of exercising (psychic protection & creative imagination) or sending it. I quite appreciate and resonate with all you've been saying on your videos. I like too that divination you prefer is Crystal or runes. I'm going to watch all your videos bit by bit, and I want to read your books, too. My journey into becoming a witch began in a garden I created with herbs for my babies. I nursed them all (3), and grew camomile for my middle daughter who had colic symptoms & my father in law gave me a small bay Laurel tree. I set it in the center, and put other herbs with inpatients flowers between in a circle that was ever expanded and slates I already had were added to walk through and around to each until I had a spiral. It just unfolded that way naturally. Now, when I did research on all my herbs, I discovered their history, and that's when I discovered the Craft. Wicca and all are fine. But, I'm interested in Traditional ways, especially those which my ancestors would have used (and later mixed with Christianity), or modern ways of doing similarly. I'm of European and UK descent with a bit of Mediterranean mixed in according to my DNA test (French, Norman, Plantagenet branch, Baltic---way back, and a touch of Italian) and my genealogy adventure of many years. Anyway, I've been a grandmother as well the past ten years, and we have 2 big dogs, 1 small dog & 1 cat. I'm pleased to meet you. I love your video. I was raised roman catholic though in my early teens, (12 yrs old) i knew the path was never for me, my soul was always hungry for spirituality (still is).Then a person told me about Wiccan and Paganism earth religions, of course i looked it up, and learned there was a Goddess, and meditated one day and prayed to her, every since then Ive never felt more alive . I am an empath and very sensitive, i bless and cleanse people's homes, I make my own smudge sticks, holy water etc. I give offerings to the fae, and elemental spirits, I work with plants, stones, flowers, and trees, potions, herbal healing remedies, the list can go on. I'm not sure but I've always been able to sense other peoples emotions, and I've made people's pain go away before. Once when I was six my friends leg got badly bruised, so I massaged it with my hands, and the pain went away completely, or so she said. Just an anecdote for anyone who wants to hear it. Thank you so much...... I have never found a religion that I felt was right for me..... I think it is beautiful when some one finds a religion...... but it never has felt right for me.... I have read about many and met and talked with a lot of religious folk.... but I have always been drawn to anything about “ witches “ or “ witchcraft” of any kind and never understood why.... I have always woke up around 1:30am ish am and can’t go back to sleep till around 5am..... people assume I must be into anything pagan..... I also have a habit of knowing what will happen before it dose, in strange ways :) I looked in to Wicca when I was a young teen, but it was still way to religious for my liking. I tried to kinda ignore all of this for a while but then when I became a mother all these feelings and things become to much to ignore..... and then after the birth of my son my grandma told me there are many witch’s in my family tree..... and then a aunt from my other side of my family hints to the same thing...... and now I don’t know were to start and want to start somewhere and have some kind of guidance.... I don’t have many friends because I have let mother hood and life get in the way.... as well my mates/man I call mine, his family is HIGHLY religious and would flip if they ever heard of me talking to anyone about anything like this and I live in a small, well connected area.......so I am glad to have found you. When I started this Path I had no clue where to start. I did not have the internet. I went to my local Library. And soon discovered the ' Library Fairy' , LOL. When ever I needed a book, on something I needed to hear and learn from, it was provided....there was one time where one literally fell off the shelf at my feet. I saved up and bought it...

Without a doubt I'm a witch! I've been saying it for years. I just turned 43 and it seems as if my abilities are getting stronger. I don't practice witch craft and yet I've always felt power within me. I have a witches nipple and was always told I was kissed by a witch! I am also clairvoyant and can see and feel things others can't. I l think I've accidentally cuursed people when I've been harmed or harm came to my children! I don't know if that makes any since. I agree so much. For example North being Earth South being fire ect. But the first time I set up an altar to meditate I didn't remember East being associated with wind and west being water. I live next to a river and with the Atlantic Ocean being to the East of me (Florida USA) SO I set up for water being East and wind being West. And it felt right to me. Being a witch is something that you feel about yourself and come to know. The point of any spirituality is reflecting upon your own personal faith.

I truly love your videos and I love your home I get such a calming feeling seeing the background , although I'll say I see many orbs in the background of your videos , I just caught one in a video my daughter filmed of me the other day, anyhow I'm just searching for answers I guess , because I've often wondered " what am I " I've dealt with the paranormal and for most of my life and even when I try to ignore it somehow it shows up ... I've always wondered if I was a witch and have even searched my families past to see if I can find anything ..I feel extremely connected to everything I pay attention to I can feel energies instantly and I've even had strange dreams of an older woman talking to me at a table with three white candles on it , one large two smaller ... Anyhow sorry for rambling have a lovely day .

i think i might be but i noticed i been having a very hard time "recharging" if that makes any sense, while other times i feel like im being over whelmed by energy. is there anyway to more control or easily gain energy while not geting over charged like a breaker and or shield my self...

I feel that I could possibly be a witch or something similar. But I am a Christian, I do not follow Wicca or any other witchcraft related religions. My reasons for being convinced that I could be a witch are, one, I constantly have deja vu, I'm fascinated by much, much older things, music, style, literature, etc. Two, I have very vivid dreams, and sometimes they are premonitions or omens. Three, I have a strong love for animals. Four, I'm very passionate about art, love, family, friendships. Five, I feel vibes when I enter new places or meet new people. Six, I'm very empathic. I usually can feel what other people feel or can pretty much tell what they are thinking. Seven, I enjoy time to myself. Eight, I follow Zodiac signs and Astrology. Nine, I'm very emotional and sensitive. Ten, I am intuitive. I just wanted to hear what you think about these traits. You seem like a very understanding, wise, and sweet person :)

hello I would like to say thank you very much for all your videos I am learning so much... I am a beginner and sadly I have a learning disability So reading is very difficult and I can read enough to know what I'm reading but you studying the craft there is a lot of exotic and hard words and with these videos I'm able to take in the information and understands what the craft is and what I should do... So I do thank you for posting a lot of detail videos and I would like to learn a lot more I can't find number 1 but I am watching all of your videos because like I said you are very detailed and I needed that so thank you and if there's anything that you think I should know please let me know...

I love reading takes my mind of the negativity and keeps me back from useing negative energies witch I am not that way enclided but it is tempting these days I believe some a witches have work there magic in diffrent ways of course it’s not like on tv but there are some witches who can actually do magic but in a diffrent way then we know, I grow up being a book nerd and I’ve been in a reading slump for yrs and wondered why or how the world had changes so I realised last yr Christmas to go back to my roots and to become a born again book nerd so I made that my new yr resolution never to reading rump again maybe I can write my own book one day and be successful than the old one plus reading helps my imagination and in so many ways and takes my mind of the negativity in this world.

I feel that energy that can be called magic, I've felt it ever since I can remember, I cannot put it with words I just feel it. It has been intuitive. It's an intimate connection with something we are all connected to. Present in nature and inside of all living things. I had a big time problem calling myself a witch tho... In my early teens I thought I found the answer in witchcraft. The problem is that I didn´t fit in with the local coven. I am not the one to judge them, because we are all equals but have different purposes in life. I didn´t find the appeal in their practices, I wasn't interested in money nor revenge. Also I felt I wasn't being myself, it was like my true self was under a disguise dressing their way and wearing different kinds of amulets. Later I understood that we are the ones that bring power to them. An amulet is nothing but an ornament if we don't feel the connection with it. When we feel the connection, it becomes something kinda like an antenna, focusing energy in it (that's how I see it, I may be wrong tho, I'm still young and stupid ;B). Of course, now I own my talismans, one of them is a seed I found on the ground when I was out for a walk. All of them are meaningful for me. Then I became a woman of science and embraced my witchiness (is that even a word?). Everytime I said this, it makes hard for people to understand my posture towards magic and science. Both are different but intertwined. It was magic that led me to the path of science. How can I put into words my thought? Is my duty as a witch. I am tied to nature and love knowledge as perhaps I used to in a past life I've seen in my dreams. Science is my way to deepen both my love for nature and my passion for knowledge when feeling something else that our technology can't measure. The connection. Well, that's all I wanted to say :p I felt I needed to release it. To whoever reads this: have a really lovely day! :D

I think many people experience this disassociation during our path... sometimes we prefer to work alone (as I do) some prefer to join a cover. I think the most important thing to remember is that it is your path and nobody else's. Nobody else can walk it for you.
