That BT bug has been driving me crazy. Every single time my phone gets pinged with anything, my IFCU jumps over to BT audio and I have to manually switch it over every time... So glad to hear they are working on a fix. Thanks for all the great info, I'll be doing that vent modification soon.👍
@ITFZone3 күн бұрын
Yes a crazy bug for sure, the call for Bluetooth should be an easy fix to implement but it will be another OS update. Hope we see other improvements for sure!

It would be so nice to have android auto on my bike. Not sure I'm willing to fight for it. I really appreciate your videos! Keep up the great work.
@ITFZone3 күн бұрын
Using the Bluetooth connection to an Android phone will give you most of the functionality minus Nav unless you have Harley's activated. Just need to get the radio bug fixed. For me during a normal commuting week I just use bluetooth for my phone.

Another great video tom. The buggy boxes still annoy me but I'm hanging in there hoping one day AA will be on the bike. Keep em coming. Can't wait for the next one.

I ended up switching to an iPhone. I was tired of playing the games with android. I miss my android, but it was worth the switch.
@ITFZoneКүн бұрын
You are not alone, I am seeing comments and emails from others who opted to switch but then I see the same of them switching back to Android because they couldn't live with the iPhone. I think an AI box with a SIM, if you have an Android phone with a physical SIM that you could move over to the AI box for trips might be a good alternative for many. But the boxes have their own issues!

I have a solution. Google and H-D can give us Android Auto or they can give us the embedded Nav for free! I'm not a fan of the Apple product but I may switch since Google is being petty.
@ITFZone4 күн бұрын
I have the Nav included with my CVO, its not a great alternative in its current form!

The new soundstream v2 head unit made for harley-davidson street glide n road glide just came out maybe a week or 2 ago has wireless android auto and Apple carplay, and it works great.That head unit is specifically made for motorcycles.
@ITFZone4 күн бұрын
Yep but does not fit these new bikes. Since the new system is so integrated I am not sure how quickly we will see an option but I suspect we will.
@RGONZ14 күн бұрын
@ITFZone I just didn't understand why Google is saying there not continuing android auto for motorcycles, but allowed precision power to use android auto on their new soundstream v2 head unit specifically made for motorcycles.
@ITFZone3 күн бұрын
@@RGONZ1 I think it has to do with the OS version. I believe they are using an older base OS which has AA grandfathered in. This is my guess. HOPEFULLY we will see an official answer from any of the companies at some point.

Adding to the mystery, the new Diamond Audio & Soundstream head units for 14-23 Harleys came out this year & both have wireless AA & CP.

Won't fit these new bikes but I do suspect we will see something!

If you look at the March flash, and dig into the file structure, you will find that the IFCU looks to be running an Android OS. So, I find the lack of Android auto kind of funny.
@ITFZone3 күн бұрын
Agree, the release articles indicate HTML 5, Linux but for sure signs of a Google OS.

Great video, I'm holding out for an update to the OS system, I'm blessed to be a Goldwing rider and 24 RG rider, when I purchased my 2018 Goldwing new from Honda, we did not have Android, just Apple carplay, within about six months or so, Honda released an update for Android, so I truly believe it's coming, I have to believe it involves $$$$, hopefully someone will release the funds and we Android users can use our phones through the OS system, my opinion, for what it's worth.......

my boom gts which I have my phone connected for text messages. if I'm listening to music and I get a phone call my music stops and it says on the screen accept or cancel, I cancel as I don't have a microphone , its the same if I have a text, if I click listen when moving then music will stop and the text will be spoken. Does the new skyline OS have the capability to send an auto text message ? If Im riding and someone texts me, I can listen to it or read it if stopped, also my bike sends a automated text saying 'Sorry Im out riding, I will respond later' , this message is completely customisable, didn't know if the new system had it
@ITFZone3 күн бұрын
The challenge with the Android bug is that it does not switch back so you are left at a Bluetooth screen. The SkyLine OS does offer auto responses to text messages.

the biggest problem is overheating and i have left the lid open going down the road to help with cooling

Yes they do over heat, if we could mount them outside the cubby we would be set. They are built for air conditioned cars!

Android is no longer giving New certs for new gear. It’s across the entire motorcycle industry, even aftermarket. There’s a workaround to get Android Auto that actually works.
@ITFZoneКүн бұрын
Would be great to see a statement from Google. If Google is going to discriminate against motorcyclists, we may need to consider the IOS platform!

I believe apple and harley have a contact where apple provides the software for free or whatever as long as android isn't offered. It's all about money. Why else would Harleys nav suck. It's to get more people switch over to Apple
@ITFZone2 күн бұрын
Unfortunately I am seeing many comment that they switched over, some going back to Android. Its just unfortunate!!

Hi Tom, my fiancé has a 2017 SG and she’s an Android user. Did you ever have a post showing how to add AA on her bike?
@ITFZone5 күн бұрын
I believe it was the 2019 model year when CarPlay and then AA showed up. Not aware of the option for prior years.
@wikedcool155 күн бұрын
HD does offer the BoomBox GTS as an upgrade kit, you should double check but it should work on most 14-18 touring models with the purchase of a seperate USB connector. I do not know if it comes with CP/AA or if they can even be installed, you should see if your dealer could verify this for you.

I don't blame you! If you go with an older iPhone that supports a SIM card you could swap you SIM back and forth and use the iPhone just for the bike.

I don't apple! Harley Nav Isn't very detailed, loads slow, sometimes just doesn't display (yes have latest update) Android boxes (commeco) doesn't always load, takes a long time. Some features work with buttons, some thing have to use touchscreen. (Not a reliable option) All options suck! I mounted my phone to the bars and use google maps for decent directions. Paid good money and disappointing options! I want Android Auto! In the meantime Harley your Nav could use some upgrades!

Multiple issues like this, the clutch and all the buttons being in strange places led me to trade off my 2024 RG. Don't see myself buying another Harley at this point.

@@ITFZone I still have my 2019 RG Ultra. 43,000 miles on it, I'm very comfortable with it. The nav works the way I want, I like the smoothness of the hydraulic clutch and I know where all the buttons are. If only it was as fast as that 117 but it's close!

BIG mistake, expensive shitty phone ( can anyone tell me why that piece of crap cost so much ? ) and it don't work well with the infothainment system. @ITFZone seriously... someone told me they used an ottocast to get AA on their bike but it was a 2021 with the boom box OS. I gotta see if it's compatible with the 24. I hear it works great and is very fast to load
@ITFZone4 күн бұрын
I had no luck with the Ottocast. Has to be Android V10 to work. The Onince I showed in this video is pretty good, faster than the original Camecho but time is limited with it thus far.

They make some of the best, if not the best, hardware on the market. You not liking the software is understandable, coming from an Android.
