Excellent video. Much of this information has really helped me with my 2024 Street Glide sound system. I wasn’t using it because I just figured I wouldn’t use it much anyway. But after applying some of your “fixes” I have found that I really enjoy my Apple Music on the bike as well as at home. Much appreciated!!

@@ITFZone Yes it’s interesting when the shoe is on the other foot! Lol. I always thought it was kind of dumb until I bought a 2009 Street Glide. It also had a CD player. I sometimes enjoyed my music on the bike but the quality was not all that great so I didn’t use it much. Even though my 2024 has a base model stereo, it’s still really quite good. I don’t want to use Apple car play, but every time I start the bike it asks if I want Apple car play and I have to select “no”. A bit of a pain but once I get on the road all is forgotten. It does mess with my OCD but at this point it is what it is.

To get rid of the CarPlay prompt go into your iPhone - Settings - General - CarPlay and slide it to OFF. It will still work wired but not wireless but also will not prompt.

@@ITFZone I had an interesting gremlin yesterday. I started my bike and was waiting a couple of minutes for it to warm up just a bit. The screen was moving through its process and suddenly went black. So my bike is running but the screen is black. I waited a couple of minutes but still black. I pressed the menu button on the left grip side and the screen returned. Very strange. I could see a real issue if I’m on a 1000 mile trip and this happens. I’ll have to get the dealer to check it out but they have been somewhat bedazzled by the display and don’t seem to have enough experience with the system to give me any confidence they’ll be able to fix the issue.

Thank you for the video. I have a 21 RG and installed the whim. Now I get apple carplay with my non branded Sena 50s no problem. What I don’t get is mesh capability. But when I connect my hd branded 50s I get it all including mesh when connected to apple car play. How does that work with the new RGs? Do I need a whim and a HD branded Cardo? No one seems to know this even at Harley dealerships. Thanks.

Hello, for sure you do NOT need a branded headset with the new infotainment system, you can use anything. As far as a mesh network between headsets that is all in the headset and nothing to do with the bike.

I am the one of the ones that told Jay about the EQ, it should be off or set to flat. Tuning a amp with it on will create a lot of distortion. Ever audio install I have ever done, I always set to EQ to flat and then tune the amp.

I don't think the USB connection will allow a media play to be identified. You could use one of the USB Headset Adapters with the 3.5mm in receiver mode: amzn.to/4bJ9Puh

I have a 2024 Roadglide with the upgraded stereo and I still can’t hear my music on the highway. But thanks for the info on some of the changes to make on my iPhone. It might help a little. I was actually thinking about going back to a Roadking for my next bike because like you stated in the start of this video I’m quite content just riding and listening to the engine. Thanks again.

Hi there, thanks a lot for this helpful video. I still have an issue with. my sound system settings. PRoblem is that whnen connected to my helmet for prompts then sometimes the music is strong and my helmet mike "hears" the music and lowers down the sound. can you discnonnect this lowering function when routing for sounds are different ?

Hello, interesting one! The system lowers the music volume every time a prompt is announced. Over time I just turned the prompts off! Have you played with the Volume settings under the sound menu, setting rider headset only for prompts? This is the only setting I can think of that may help. There is no way to turn off the lowering of the volume for a prompt that I know of.

@@ITFZone Hello and thanks a lot ! I'll try again but in fact issue is not really with prompts but more with any sound into the mike channel. Wind / msic echoing into the mike and triggering the mike off (and prompts as well). Problem is that you should be able to disable the volume lowering down specially when the sound triggering the lowers is on another channel than the music one. I'll ask my dealer as well. @@FredericMartinet During the work week I ride with my Sena helmet headset. Sometimes I will play music through the speakers on the way home, especially on Friday's with this setup but never had any issue with the microphone being active. The mic should be off unless you press the PTT or Voice button or a call comes in. So I wonder if its a setting in your headset or your PTT button is stuck on? The mic should be off and not picking up any sound in this scenario.

You have the Sena 20 Evo, I do too. I can pair the headset but if gives no sound. Law abiding biker says the Sena is not compatible with the 2024 SG/RG. So what did you do? .

Hello! Any Bluetooth headset will work with the new Infotainment system. Under settings - Audio make sure routing is set to headset. If still not working send me a photo of your device manager screen, [e-mail]

Yep I received this comment recently and tested and could not find an option, the NAV prompts are not responding to the volume setting for prompts. I have to assume a bug.

Now if only someone could figure out a way for an Android user to be able to have the functions of Apple Car Play. Not sure why Android is being a pain about letting them use Android Auto on the bikes but it's ridiculous that we can't have both in 2024! I'm looking at buying a 24 RG and the only downside is that I'll have to buy the HD Navi package if I want to be able to use the Navigation on the bike and not have to look at my small phone screen instead. Also thanks for all the great and informative videos. I've been using them as research for when I finally get my new bike!

​@GMAN0444 It's Apple. They write an exclusivity clause when they approve new manufacturers to have carplay. Look at how long it takes cars to get Android auto if they come with car play. Honda passed out of the apple exclusive period with the goldwings years ago, but Harley and Indian are new to the infotainment game, and chose to be able to have both eventually instead of risking not having apple at all.

Off topic , my navigation was working in lake George and on the way home the screen showed only my home on the map but no movement on the map etc. I filled the bike with fuel befor this happened so coincidentally, my fuel guage was glitching from 3/4 to full and then it corrected itself but no map movement. Yep this is what happens to me as well, see my video on the navigation. I have had my map stop updating a few times now with the built in Nav. Really hoping we will see an update before the riding season is over.

If you have done a firmware update, then do a factory reset, does it keep the latest firmware update or go back to the original firmware?

No, firmware version is not impacted by the factory reset. Your settings and pairings are reset. I have found this effective for Bluetooth and Pairing issues.

I wish! I have not found any other option either. When streaming or playing media you can pause the song with the center button but in the radio lowering the volume is the only method I know of. If you use a headset you could try issuing a Mute command through the voice control.

Great video, I enjoy your content. I am pretty sure the phone volume is only applicable if you are not using CarPlay, else it does nothing. On my 24 RG I cannot get the audio routing to stay headset for example and have to reset it just about every ride.

Correct, CarPlay uses the phones volume setting. Interesting I have not had this issue with my headset, it has been remembering BUT I can't say I have paid attention to this after the SkyLine OS update. I will be commuting for the first time this season this week, I will update!

So I think there is a Stage 1 speaker above the '24 stock, mis spoke on this one! But you may need the AMP upgrade to see these as well.

Hey There. Another great video as always. Thanks for all of the information that you provide. I wanted to ask you about something that I'm experiencing on my 2024 Road Glide. In the volume adjustments I set the ring tone control as low as it will go. But when I receive a call the ring tone volume blows me away and sure enough... when I go back into the settings on the bike that ring tone adjustment has move to max. Any thoughts on this?

Just the ringer goes to max, are you using CarPlay or Bluetooth connection? On your phone under settings - sound - Ringtone is this also showing max after connecting to the bike? You might turn off the change with buttons, wonder if the bikes volume control is the cause.

Yes. Just the Ring Tone setting goes to max. Another fun fact is that when this happens the first instinct is of course to reach for the volume control on the right "joystick". Unfortunately the volume bar graphic is displayed on the screen, but it just flashes as you attempt to lower the volume before your ears explode. As for my set-up... I'm connecting my iPhone 12 Pro to the bike via a USB C cable (so hardwired, no BlueTooth) and then using the SENA SRL3 system installed in my Shoei Neotec 3 helmet for headphones / microphone. But I have also used my hardwired earbuds with the MADHawk adapter and got the same results. I'll try turning down the Ring Tone volume in the settings on phone and see what happens.

To confirm then you are using Wired CarPlay only. If you go to the device manager your iPhone should only show the small CarPlay icon and not the Bluetooth. You can also check connection settings on your phone in device manager and turn off phone.

Correct. BlueTooth completely turned off on the phone and the display in the Device Manager screen just shows the single CarPlay icon next to the phone name. I tried turning down the Ring Tone volume in the settings on phone and the Button Control, but no luck with anything so far. I'm stumped. The only thing I can think of as a "patch" is to make a custom ring tone just for the bike that is a very low volume (or completely silent for that matter since you will see the incoming call window very clearly in the display) and switch the phone to that ring tone every time I connect it. IDK???

Hi, I am having contiuous audio problems with my 2024 CVO. Music is playing from my phone but no audio on the bike. I have tried pulling the fuse which does temporarily solve the problem but I can shut the bike down and the next time I start no audio. No audio from the phone, fm, am or nav. I have also tried to factory reset the system with no success. My software is up to date (2400022337D). This is making me crazy. Five hour ride yesterday with no music.

The no audio condition is crazy frustrating for sure. We need to check your AMP version. Sound - Speaker Configuration - 1 st screen will show the AMP and selecting it should show the AMP version. We need 1.3.8 for the no audio condition. If you it is showing older you can apply just the AMP update from the 2nd USB of the SkyLine OS update. Might be easier to connect in email to troubleshoot: [e-mail]

Was wondering what headsets you use if your wearing a full face? Also did you do any videos on the rider/passenger intercom? Hearing a lot of different stories from the dealerships on the PTT button and what it actually does since these bikes don't have CB's anymore. Any information would be helpful before I drop 40K

Hello! With my full face I am using my old Sena 20s mainly because I am most comfortable with its buttons. I do have the upgraded speakers for it. I have never used the intercom feature but the PTT turns this on is my understanding and then once on anytime either rider or passenger mic pics up sound it opens the intercom. There is really no documentation on it from the manual. Any dealer should let you try it, pairing your headsets to a demo bike. This is from the manual: The Push-To-Talk (PTT) switch (6) is used to operate the rider/passenger intercom on equipped vehicles.

I dealt with the audio on my 2015 Ultra Limited by scrapping everything that was factory, installed the Soundstream HD-HU14, Two Sound-digital 800w amps, put Hertz speakers in the fairing, skar in the tourpak pods, boss audio lid kit, and PPI drop in subs in each bag. Now it sounds great, and i can hear and feel it at 100mph clearly. I plan on keeping this bike forever, along with my 1995 Road King. Not a fan of the new bikes, they moving in the wrong direction with the styling in my opinion. I like my analog guages in the dash and my radio is my radio.

I for sure was thinking I would miss the analog gauges and at times I do but overall the display is well done and I have no complaints with the gauges and still have some hope that the audio bugs will be updated, we shall see!

If you have installed the HD branded 6x9 it should show up but you may try the factory reset and see if it works.

Got up to 45 degrees today where I live with an inch of rain and 30 MPH winds.. You’re lucky. On my 24 Road Glide, the auto volume setting works well for my headset.but does nothing for the speakers. If I come to a stop after being on the highway the speakers are just blaring. And conversely, I have to turn the speaker volume up as I accelerate to highway speeds.

Interesting, for sure it has some effect on my speakers but not as much as I would like. Before the amp updates the auto volume didn't effect the headset at all which I think was my preference as I happy with a constant volume with the headset. I think my 2018 Boom system was better overall for auto volume.

as usual great video. I am running stock amp with Hertz fronts and HD 6x9's in bags. I am using USB thumb drive for all music. Sound is pretty good but I have an issue. The music stops from time to time. The second counter also stops and then starts again. As if it is losing connection but song names stays on screen I have all the updates. any thoughts or ideas?

I will be testing using a media drive here in an upcoming video. I would suspect the format of your thumb drive or the speed of it could be the issue, though it shouldn't this system is picky about thumb drives.

The music signal like Apple Car Play often cuts out. I updated the system with no improvements. Another doubt is why they didn't make a fuel cup without the possibility of closing it. Greeting from Rome (Italy)

I am not yet sure on the CarPlay, make sure the headset icon is still illuminated when it cuts out. I suspect if you remove the Bluetooth connection to your phone and just use the CarPlay you will have better luck. I have zero issues just using a BlueTooth connection and no CarPlay. I suspect issues are caused when both a CarPlay and Bluetooth connection is setup.

I understand being OCD but I don't think you should worry about maxing out those EQ settings. Think of it more like a faucet totally open vs. slightly closed as opposed to adding something "extra" and you might feel better.
