My mom use to take babies, tie a red ribbon on them (make a bow) and would hang it above the front door of our home. Believe it or not, that sucker would grow and grow like crazy w no nutrients, no soil, no water. This was in the middle of Nebraska too, so not even the climate they like. I always thought it was amazing

My Aloe Vera lost all her leaves last winter, I put the remaining roots in the water and a few weeks later new leaves started to grow

Thanks for experimenting so we all can learn. Very interesting. Also, I’ve heard that aloes produce more pups when they’re pot bound. You could try putting them in a smaller pot and see what happens. Mine produced a pup when it was in a really small pot but hasn’t since I’ve repotted and separated it. Thanks again. 😀

my 2 years old son did this he pulled the centre part of my aloe and i tried to save my plant following this method but both of the part of plant died.😔

Try this; I'm curious if it works for you. Cut one healthy "leaf," and literally just drop it in the pot. Takes a long time...but side pups coming up for me.

I nearly killed my first aloe by root rot. It lost all its roots. It fell over once when moving it and the roots were still in the pot rotted out, but the aloe looked just fine. I ended up putting it in water hoping something would happen and it grew roots and it's like in never killed its source of life lol.

A tip for beheading any succulents. You can use floss or string. you want to wrap the string around the part you want to chop off and you wanna wrap it at least 1-2 times around. then you pull both sides of the string and viola. Comes off clean

I’ve been searching for so long to find a video that might talk about this and whether or not it’s possible!! I only have my one aloe, so I’m going to try and get it looking healthier before I try to propagate it like this, but I can’t wait to give it a shot.

How exciting! I have a bunch of stretched out aloe that I’ll probably do this with. They had babies but the Mama plant is pretty stretched out that it’ll give her a new chance at life and to look beautiful. Great experiment!
