Those are Japanese mandarin called Mikan, a native Asian orange in south of Japan. They’re very common in winter time here and we can peel it easily. It comes in various sizes and juice is very fruity, softly fragrant and not sickly sweet as Florida sweet oranges. Flesh is very soft and delicate. I can eat 3 of those in one sitting for a snack they’re very good. Most Japanese families buy Mikan in a huge box in winter time and eat them through out winter a lot, as we eat seasonal fruits and vegetables, and Mikan is in season right now. We do have many Japanese citrus you know not only Europe or in the US like Florida Lol 😂 Have you heard of Yuzu (Piney Japanese bright yellow citrus) or Kabosu (Japanese lime). They’re very fragrant more than lemon or lime. They’re native to Japan and we have many other Japanese citrus we eat locally.

It is F* ing delicious and F*ing worthed the time! (sorry I never swear but my mind is distorted by the murderous taste) the taste is 😭😭😭😭😭 I doubt that I could make sth better than this in my entire life ever again ! It's the pure taste of spring, first love, first leaf that has grown from the shoot, the kiss of an angel and the moment when wonder converts into joy 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 I would never forget today, when the magic appeared and danced with me in the wonderland

If I make as little as just an Avocado toast with coffee in my kitchen in the morning, my kitchen then looks like a bomb had exploded in there and takes almost an industrial cleaning effort to restore it back to a normal state. If you're wondering how to make the crust, you take 100g of crushed nilla wafers, oreo minus the cream, or even gram crackers, and 40g of melted unsalted butter and mix it. Once done you tamp it at the base of the cheesecake mold, essentially putting the cheesecake together from bottom up instead. 10/10 recipe nonetheless.

@@cynthia_ess yeah, it would be to get the wax off. You don't want wax in your zest, and it also makes it harder to zest if you forget. Soaking in warm water would also get it off. Same for apples, if you eat the skin.
