Tim this is fantastic, thank you. Well done to all involved. I think it’s great that we in the outdoor pursuits community are having this conversation. Something I noticed which is really interesting to me is the difference in body language and tone when my fellow contributors and I go from speaking about how we first got in to angling or came to be in the UK to speaking about our experiences of racism. It’s a sensitive subject but an essential one, so bravo to everybody that’s put themselves out there to discuss it.

Very insightful Tim, thank you. Not even close to being the same, but my Mum taught me to fish in the seventies and we did get some strange looks, me mum and my brother. I can't even imagine. I hope and believe that the brotherhood of fishing transcends all barriers. Keep doing your thing. Thanks again.

A piece of work like this is long overdue. Great work and a stimulating film, Tim. What I love best is the shared passion- at heart, we are all into angling for the same reasons. It's only prejudice that could convince us otherwise. Still some way to go, but what an inspiring group of people you tracked down.

I've been coarse fishing on and off now for nearly 50yrs. I can honestly say that I have never seen or met a black, indian,Asian fisherman or lady on the bank. Angling is a sport for all, regardless of race, age, gender and disability etc.... This is the best fishing based video I've seen in a long time 👍👍👍

I'm not sure we need to do anything in particular. But seeing a reflection of yourself in anything is a good start. So seeing more anglers of colour in magazines, adverts and within companies would be ideal - which you're seeing in the US flyfishing scene.

back in the 80's in my village where i used to sea fish there was a black guy who was a regular on the rocks with the rest of us. i never knew his real name but he was imaginatively nicknamed 'Chalky' by everyone. I realise that name might be seen as discriminatory these days but no malice was meant, he was a popular guy. This is a fantastic and thought provoking film.

This is a really important film, Tim. Thank you for shining a light on issues of race and ethnicity in the fishing community. Hearing the stories of all of the anglers in the video was especially impactful. Hopefully a great many white anglers, like myself, will watch this film and feel motivated to be better allies. It's also a beautifully made film that must have taken you many many hours to create. Very well done!

Love this.. this is not a black or white thing but a poor v rich thing. Poor people have too many loose ends to tie up and can’t even think of hobbies- even here in Kenya- poor people are trapped in the city and they get sucked in but the rich people make money and leave. We have forest where you find rich people jogging and they have dogs etc.. Poor people are too busy working or hustling because that’s how the Matrix works
