I love how will you explain what you are doing and your entertaining way of doing so. I watched several of your videos and love it. The kirtle and bra you made filled me with wonder. LOL. I think that making a bra will probably take some work, but I have the same issues with stretchy bras and will try it.

That turned out so beautifully! It’s perfect for spring. Almost every costume my kids had and a few of my grandson’s were of recycled clothes and sheets. When the kids were young it was all about cost now it more about sustainability though cost is still a factor. I have always thought outside of the box and have enjoyed the challenge of making it work. Though sometimes that involves a lot of cursing and wonder what possessed me!

Wow the stripe matching turned out so good! I have a dinosaur duvet cover that I just partially turned into a t-tunic style pajama shirt for my kiddo.

I make my full length petticoats from dust ruffles . I position the ruffles at the bottom.

You are such a precise sewer. And your eyelets are spectacular. I can’t wait to see the dress in person! My green overdress I made recently was a king size flat sheet that I got at the goodwill clearance center.

Most helpful kirtle video I've ever seen!

I'm glad you think so! You should go watch Samantha's, too. It's linked in the description :)

@@TheSingerSews My needs were specific to fitting and pleating measures. I've been looking for someone to go over the steps for those for a year now. Samantha's steps, and frankly everything else I've found, are a bit too intuitive for my obsessive measuring brain! They're also typically missing the bust support measures you use!

@@kierstenlynner9720 'tis fair! I am very "type A" or "left brained," though I have gotten a lot more comfortable with trial and error. Patterning is a lot of trial and error for me, since I'm self-taught and don't use any formal systems. I'm planning to make a video about patterning Geralt's shirt and I'm nervous because the first draft is always a lot of guess-work and I'm worried I won't be helpful 😂

Outstanding pattern- and stripe-matching ! You somehow managed to make a 70s (I'm guessing) duvet cover fit the Tudor aesthetic. Also your choice of soundtrack is very much appreciated. Not only does it transport us into the era of fashion you're recreating/taking inspiration from, it's such a nice change from the bland, overused piano tunes that seem to be in every Costube video nowadays. The last song in particular is 😘👌

Thanks so much! Since I'm a big nerd with a music degree, I make it a point to use music from the eras I'm recreating!

Beautiful job, absolutely giving this a go your explanation is fantastic thank you 🙏. I recently finished a smocked front apron made from a bedsheet with hand made English lace it took a while but I love it! Do you have a tutorial for making that wonderful blue top you were wearing it’s captivating and I may need one in my life 😁

I don't have a tutorial because I didn't make it! You can purchase a top like that from Moresca. It's their Basic Men's Shirt.
