I have some small rare earth magnets I may try this with since they aren't as thick as a dime or washer.

I'm probably going to try this with some new washers since the washers are flatter than dimes.

The issue I see with this technique is that it is impossible to measure a deep groove that may be only a couple millimeters thick. The surface of a rotor can be wavy with hills and valleys. This will bridge the gap over the deep valleys giving a false reading. Proper brake rotor calipers meet at 2 fine points to give the proper and accurate measurement

Yes, however it's better than no measurement at all.

If you have some deep grooves you'd want to replace the rotor anyways, this video is perfect for just showing a normal non damaged rotors surface and seeing if the thickness is safe. Well done and thanks for the video :)

Hello from croatia. Mine is at 26.2 thickness, and minimum is 26.4. Is it ok to use one more brake pads on it ?
@asesinox4205 ай бұрын
Yes. I've heard as long as you're at least at minimum you can run 1 more set of pads.
@MultiAdere2 ай бұрын
No, you can't. If it is already below minimum thickness, by the time the pads are worn halfway it will be waay below minimum thickness. Time to change it my man.@@asesinox420

Its so rusty. Need a new one

Everything gets rusty, not a reason for failure. This is why we can clean and remachine them.

Will this work with 2 hamburger patties?

Frozen, yes, Thawed no. I prefer to use dry ice to cool them into a solid.
