@SwapBlogRU4 ай бұрын
Weirdly enough the Prelude Type-S didn't quite make the horsepower that was claimed. Brake issue was interesting, the ATR has the best brakes of the "golden era" Hondas, using the same big twin pot calipers as the contemporary NSX. Good pads and fluid and they should be mega. The suspension setup is also pretty advanced with dual wishbone fronts (like others from the time), but a more sophisticated multi link rear rather than the trailing arm setup the DC2 etc used. The main issue with the ATR as you found out is the gearing which makes it almost impossible to keep in VTEC all the time, they really benefit from a shortened final drive and / or gears. Cool cars and still relatively cheap too 👍

I'd feel so bad if I asked Misha for a lap and something like this happened with my brakes. My first time on track I was driving a 5.7 litre V8 in 2008ish which had dot 2 brake fluid. I had no idea brake fluid could boil but coming into a corner after full send and the brake pedal went flat! Luckily because I was new to track driving I came off the gas early so pumped the brakes to try build pressure and slowed down enough to take the corner with a very puckered butthole. Took the next exit, and parked the car with smoke bellowing out of my wheels. I got myself a 718 GT4 in September, just waiting for spring to take it on track - can't wait, it's going to be way better. These videos hype me up for it so much

Next time if no brakes press the brake pedal again, most time if sudden no brakes one brake pad has left the building because it has become to thin so it can pop out through the gap of the brake pad bracket and disk, by pumping the pedal you fill up the gap again to restore the brake pressure. You are then braking metal to metal but in most cars you wont even notice..one in the previous video the same

I was thinking maybe it was what we call brake push over here, basically what you said 😂.
@edzik20009 ай бұрын
The issue's name is "f**k warming up of brakes"😂. When brake disc is cold and you start to attack, the disc is warming up very quickly. His diameter is increasing very quickly as well. But the hub is not warming up with the same speed and try to hold cold brake disc's diameter. Therefore, hub is starting to bend the brake disc, and you immediately loose your brake efficiency, because pads do not transfer brake pressure to whole brake disc. The hub usually warms up a bit slower than disc and increases its diameter slowly as well. When the hub reaches the same temperature as brake disc and increases his diameter as well, the hub fully releases brake disc and stop to bend him. That's why the brake power is coming back during your driving 😂. FLOATED brake discs do not have this issue, because floated disc can grow in diameter without bending 🎉 And that's why you must warm up your brakes before attack on the track😊.
