I'd love to see a video on LOCATING Skipjack. Everyone seems to know the're by the dams. But I've seen no one explain how to locate them in different locations. I'd Love a video on that. Becoming a big fan. Seems like all youtube videos I watch are on rigging techniques and gear. None are about locating them. THANKS AGAIN FOR SHARING INVALUABLE INFORMATION! Keep them coming.

Checkout my striper videos. There's also two other skipjack videos in this playlist that go over that.

I've got a similar ugly stik for my spoon set up and a 9ft medium fast rod for my sabiki rigs..does sound like a pretty good setup in your opinion..any input is gonna greatly help me..good luck and tight lines

Those will work! Make sure you're using braid mainline

@@TopKnoxFishing I'm using the 20lb suffix but I went probably overkill on my leader for the spoon rig with 50lb Trilene Big Game Mono...I tie my braid to a swivel with about a 8in length of the 50lb tied to my trolling sinker and my length goin to my spoon is roughly 24-30in..I hope I can get on um soon..dang work lol..I really do appreciate your replies and advice brother..tight lines

Use like 15-20ln fluorocarbon. That heavy of leader affects the action of the spoon

What is a fast gear ratio?
@TopKnoxFishing3 жыл бұрын
Gear ratio is defined by how many times a reel spins around its axis with one crank of the handle. Basically, how fast baits are retrieved by the reel.
@willockschris3 жыл бұрын
@@TopKnoxFishing so a ratio of 7.1:1 is fast?
@TopKnoxFishing3 жыл бұрын
@@willockschris yep. Have a 5.4:1 rigged up at the same time and switch. between the two to see how active the fish are.
