I just want to say thank you Catfish Dave. Before watching your videos I had terrible time trying to catch catfish. I started using skip jack for bait and since then have caught several 35-40 pound blue catfish and one 20 pound flathead just since the beginning of fall and before that I'd be lucky to catch a 2-3 pound channel. Thank you for sharing your knowledge sir

Dang man! Damn the Internet. Now even fishing ain't safe. Here's the free knowledge us boys down here learnt after many season fishing for them Tennessee tarpons. Anyone who's ever had a few seasons down below Milton hill damn would know this. Even leaking the info on Bullrun too...You mean to tell me people actually pay to get their flies tied up in multiple tandems? FOOLS!!! Haha. Love the vids Dave, from an old Knoxville fish rat.

Dave, THANKS for staying true to bank fishing. Too many people start on the bank until they get enough views to generate income for fancy electronics and boats. They forget what got them to that stage. STAY ON THE BANK!!!!!!!!
@catfishdave81924 жыл бұрын
I have thought about a small boat to make it easier to get bait. Mainly skipjack because shad are easy enough year round in my area. Even thought about getting a bait license so I could get something back for my time out there. Every hour I spend skipjack fishing I could have been fishing for a big fish somewhere. It is amazing how much time and effort can be put in just for quality fresh bait. I will always bank fish. I like the challenge and in many ways it's less hassle

im new to skipjacks but i like to use them on the trotline because fresh bait is good and the oil in them works good. i need to learn to get them year round. i was getting them the past month and half and improved my trotline catch a lot. though i also learned a lot to and where to find the fish but ya all a sudden that spot isnt producing anymore. so i need to learn to get them now. i do see a lot in bays in some parts of the year. but do you catch a lot at once on say a smaller sabiki rig in the bays? because with trotlines i like to catch the smaller ones but fast so i can have enough for a few days fishing in a couple hours. unless getting big ones every cast then those can be good also. but a small one with a lot of time in between is just too slow for trotlines but good for regular catfishing. idk if you ever tried buffalo but i might just learn to get those also because the catfish love them and if i catch one nice sized one i can do boxes for a couple days.

How long will they keep and whats the best way to store some for later. Can you ship me a dozen to NC, don't know if we have any around here
@andyattitude20004 жыл бұрын
Get them on ice as soon as you take them off the hook. An ice /salt/water mixture is best. Use a vacuum sealer to get all the air out of your package and freeze them cold and fast. No lollygagging. Cabela's has them for sale in their stores. Watch Steve Douglas or Muddy water Catfishing for more info, they are both on KZbin.Good luck!
