The airless pot actually extracts the bubbles and as you said the pressure pot compresses the bubbles. So this made me think outside of my square 😹😹 I have a pressure pot we bought it to spray paint the house, umm but never used 😹😹 plus the compressor, but 👆🏽I have a food saver machine in fact I have two of them so I can pinch one for my resin work it has the attachment that goes onto food containers and yep I have one of them but never use it as over time it does lose pressure so now I have a home made airless pot, it sits on the bench it’s as noisy as the pressure pot setup but it takes up less room and I have the choice of using a large pot or a smaller pot. The difference is it keeps sucking the air out until its all gone so I will have to keep an eye on it but the up side is I have seen a large rectangle dish that goes with my food saver machine so I could place larger longer flatter moulds into that dish which can also sit on the heat mat. Best part is it cheaper than the airless machine here in Australia but I have the options of using different dishes which one type would be perfect as it also fits on the heat mat and the dish will act as a tray for a number of moulds that can be done all at the same time. This is the 3rd review I have seen of this airless and it’s actually the best review that’s been done because you have taken the time to compare it with the pressure pot and the heat mat and with out anything. I think this is why I actually thought about my food saver which only cost me $50 + AUS the pots were a gift so no cost there, the rectangle dish will cost me $47.95 AUS. My compressor cost me $598 AUS but the pressure pot only cost me $49.95 AUS as it was on special at the time. When I priced up the Airless here in Australia comes to $221.76 AUS so yep I think my food saver will work very well for me, it’s already paid for it’s self as I have had it now for 12 years🙀🙀 Thank you for a really great in-depth review. 🤗🤗🤗

Thank you so kindly for sharing your wonderful talent and video. I was going to do my first pour today, however many windshield replacement shops called me and I had to go pick up glass for other resin projects to do. 37 Celsius here. Hot hot hot drove in convertible with with top down and A/C on. Music blaring and enjoying every second. Wendy you are a absolute delight to watch. Tomorrow I will be pouring. I took a board my window size glued on 4 inch thick memory foam. I cut a area in board and foam to fit a fan .Have fan on table stuffed into opening to suck air out of my room to outside. I'm so ready for this adventure, not to mention 12 gallons of different pouring depths resin, mica powders, resin dyes, alcohol inks and every embellishments under the sun molds coming out of my ying yang lol. Lol I keep my house 10 degrees cooler in the winter. Keep them bills down. I have the heat mat, curing machine, and a little heater if needed. Also switching rooms in the winter for resin work. One of my smaller bedrooms is a pantry room with a 2nd fridge and stand up freezer. They give off heat for that room. Don't ask me why I have 2 huge fridges and I live alone. Lol I have at least 20 jars of different homemade pickles open. I'm a pickle pooch😂❤

Thank you so much for testing all of this. I know I add a lot of bubbles when I stir by hand. I have the resiners machine and I love it. I will say it is not good with table top epoxy resin. I just bought casting resin and tried it tonight. I am so happy with the outcome. I strongly recommend using plastic cups like the ones sent with the machine. My silicone mixing cup added bubbles when I used it in the machine. I separated the resin into two hard type cups and it worked really well. I had 6 oz. of resin. ❤❤❤ I love your videos.

I use a vacuum chamber and it is much faster and can completely remove bubble basically in one pull of about 1-2 minutes. The downside is maintainence as it requires compressor oil and it is quite loud. Also vacuum chamber do pull really fast so there is a risk of bubbling out of your cup if you fill it too much.
@Toonpish
@Toonpish Жыл бұрын
The difference is noise, hassle, room and speed. As the other person said it is more maintenance as well. But for me personally, the biggest reason I don’t use it is room. I hope that helps 😀💜

Great tutorial. The big pressure pot has come down a lot lately. Basically same price as the small one. So most likely I’ll end up with both and keep the big one downstairs in the gaming room. I like both but for larger pieces I want the big one. For the silk type molds its perfect as the entire thing can go in and be debubbled and we all know how bubbles get trapped in those. Again a great video. ❤ this. Thanks for showing the differences.

Wendy, I have ask, why didn't you test the airless with the resin in the molds like you did with the pressure pot? Seems to me that would have been one more step that might have been the closest result to your pressure pot. I'm probably missing something here because I don't resin (yet) but it just seems like that would have been the next logical test. Thx for sharing your talent, creativity and experience with us!💜
@Toonpish

I did Laurie 😀 it was the first one I did 🤭😳😀 Not sure how you missed that but I absolutely did 💜👍
@tigerste
@tigerste Жыл бұрын
Hi Wendy, love your content! I think what Laurie is getting at is the first test you did with the Airless, you placed the mixed resin in it, not the filled moulds as with the pressure pot, so it's not really a comparable test as pouring the degassed resin would naturally reintroduce air.
@Toonpish
@Toonpish Жыл бұрын
Oh so you mean put the moulds with resin in, into the airless 😳🤔🤔🤔 Well as you see from the plastic glass in the airless the resin would come up and spill from the mould. That’s not a viable option really unless you don’t fill the mould to the top, which means you then have to refill with resin after and that will reintroduce bubbles 😳🤔 I hope that helps 💜
@tigerste
@tigerste Жыл бұрын
@@Toonpish yeah that's obviously not viable as the moulds probably wouldn't fit in the Airless hehe! But a more comparable test would have been to put your mixed resin in the pressure pot and then pour it into the moulds. I'm surprised that the pressure pot doesn't cause the moulds to overflow, I guess it's a more controlled degassing
@lauriebennett6257
@lauriebennett6257 Жыл бұрын
@@tigerste That's exactly what I was trying to say. Thx for clarifying for me. 😊 Wendy, thx for answering my question. I guess I wasn't thinking there was that much difference between the Airless and the pressure pot as far as the mold overflowing.
