Great addition John, I too have been hesitant about the look but like the way it looks 🤙

Looks good John. They added to the look, some items take away, those shields added. I've been riding with shields for two years, since I got pegged with a stone at 90 mph. I had a swollen knuckle for about four days and my hand hurt for a couple of weeks. They make a difference. Ride on brother.

Ive ridden with no gloves and very thin gloves and have hit bees who have stung me on my hand in both cases. I have also had my share of june bugs and gravel hit my hands with my 13 inch tall apes. I made my own hand guards out of the front of a stainless steel dishwasher. I get compliments on them all the time.

Coming into our colder months now so I have just fitted a set of these Memphis Shades Handguards to my 2012 Switchback this weekend. Looking forward to seeing how they go. They certainly look good on your Road Glide Custom. 👍

First review I have seen of handguards. I have a roadglide limited and I may try those. I had a Memphis shades windshield on my ultra in ghost tint.

I use those on my FLHR when it gets cold. Those with heated gloves … MAKES HELLA DIFFERENCE Also.. if you can’t keep your legs warm.. LEATHER CHAPS! No joke ! They make tons of difference. I couldn’t keep my legs warm no matter how many layers. My arms tho.. and torso .. never got cold. Heavy leather jacket .. tried a heavy leather jacket for my legs (chaps ? Sure why not ) worked so well. Worth every penny. I find it funny how far we all go to get a few more miles in. Bikers are a special breed my brother Love your channel Ride safe !

I always thought they were for dirt bikes, but it actually looks pretty nice on Silverback. It matches the windshield. Thanks for sharing John.

I like the look and feel of ape hangers. I have them on my FatBoy. It’s an Evo engine bike. So the shake is nice, and welcomed. And I totally get it. With my hands in the wind all the time it can be tough. It’s no longer a reliable ride. So it’s parked. Fortunately, my Indian Chieftain DH has its handlebars set down at a lower height from the factory so that my hands are behind the fairing. Now I have no issues with the wind on my hands.

they look great on Silverback John. i watched both your's and HolyShift's install videos and just ordered a set of these for my 2019 Chieftain Darkhorse. I put midrise bars on the bike two years ago and it brought my hands above the fairing...definitely a need for riding for a lot of here in Michigan. take care...

Thanks John for another great video, I live in Southern California in the Inland Empire, and it gets very hot but during the winter months it gets very cold specially in the am hours when I am riding to work, so I am going to get some of those hand guards, and like you said they look very cool on the bike all year round!

The mirror will still deflect the cold air down on your hands in cold weather. So they don’t really help in cold weather.

I don't want to be negative but I'm not a big fan of them, it's going to make the bars vibrate. Ran them on a dirtbike to protect against rocks but because it is on the dirt and not going 70 mpg . I wear a knuckle protective gloves and never had a issue .

Question...have you ever experienced riding a motorcycle equipped with a hand shift foot clutch set up...I'm betting if you did you'd like it...you can leave the light with one hand on the throttle and the other on the shifter power shift through the gears...your brother's will be tripping on you...lol not much left to change so go hand shifted... rodeo up.. cowboy...enjoy your videos...

@@CYCLEFANATIX I've been riding 56 years the last 32 with a hand shifter...if you do decide to try a bike or even make one for Silverback...watch people they'll be wanting to do the same thing...after all what's left...PS my shift handle (aluminum) looks like an 1/8th moon...it was made by a machinist friend...

I wish I had a set of those on a couple years back. I use gloves with 1/2 fingers and was riding my Springfield one summer day and POW. Yellow jacket right into the opening of my right social finger. That little c**k smoker stung me about a half dozen times before I could stop and get my glove off. I was ten minutes from home and my hand all but quit working before I got there. Man that hurt!!

Are you looking at a monitor up and to the right. It makes you look distracted or like a wierdo. Place it directly behind your camera so you look like you talking to us your viewers. Personally I think handguard with a big fairing looks strange. If it works for you great. You like many defeated the purpose of a large fairing by having handlebars way higher than your fairing or windshield which is your protection not to need wind guards
