They are simply bullying ishan at this point. My question is, virat also took a break, reason can be any.... but a break is a break. he did not play any ranji... why didnt he face same consequence ? So we r essentially saying mental health is not an issue. Rishabh is not playing since a long time, or at least i didnt see him... does this mean getting injured and being able to play gives u a green light for the contract? Iyer and rahul got entry into the side , they played no first class cricket to prove their fitness. Not a single former player said a word against management whwn ishan was dropped even after the 200 against mighty bangladesh. TBH Shreyas Iyer did not impress me at all in the last WC, most of the runs he scored came only when he played at Wankhede and his failures with short balls continues. The only way to test his progress is by exposing him to Ranji Trophy and only then he should be selected.

One thing I just don't understand....when Virat has asked for break, he has been given and he got back in the team when he was available...he is the greatest of the game no doubt and that's the way to get in the team for him....but when Kishan wants to comeback they are asking him to play Domestic...it looks totally injustice for him...I am not personally big fan of him but he was not dropped or injured and he has not been given chances like Gill and Yashaswi although I am big fan of both....Kishan is either not KL but still he has performed given the chances. Agreed Shreyas Iyer could've got the contract but not Ishan Kishan who has not at all shown interest in playing domestic cricket. He forgot the path which made him the person financially he is today. Such players shouldn't be allowed to play even in the IPL otherwise many players will choose the same path.

Shreyas has been made a scapegoat here. That guy tries to play as many Ranji trophy matches as possible. He had recurring back problems and one should understand a short break he took. Real nonsense from BCCI not to give him a central contract. Infact he deserved an A. How many Ranji trophy matches played by Rohit, Kohli, Hardik other top bracket Indian players in last couple of years?? Shreyas is an easy target
