I know no one plays ex characters but I vastly preffer the original over this one since your moves hit twice and pull the opponent in while still retaining the option of just hitting once by holding down the button.

EX Axl is both able to zone you out more, while retaining some really nutty setplay. To "balance" him his reward for zoning is a lot less potent than normal Axl, since you lose vacuums, but still an insanely cool character. Really makes me wish that EX characters were more well balanced, to a level where you could pick between the 2 in a tournament, a lá CvS2 Grooves, isms from SF Alpha, and Sides from Battle Craze if you're a hipster and a fuckin weirdo.

EX characters weren't adjusted for +R, so the moves that didn't get EX changes are the same as in AC. For Axl, as an example, that means that TK Bomber is plus on block, even on IB. EDIT: +7, AC TK Bomber is actually +7 on block.

The meme about Axl pants inconsistency is pretty much there, GG1 have Axl wearing shorts which is the same in Xrd, I think it’s because it was summer? On the contrary on +R he wore long trouser which is similar to his STRIVE appearance. Well, Axl zoning game is always uses long poke at mid-to long distance, his charge moves is only Rensen in general, so he is not really reliant on charge on neutral but he is pretty good with it. This EX version feels like nightmare on pressure though

I think you can also play Survival and beat the Black characters to get their EX versions. And since you have those items and etc. to increase your stats and gain abilities, it should be easier than playing Story?
