I would make coconut whipped cream instead of the traditional one, and add less of the coconut oil, for some extra flavor and less fat. Just refrigerate some coconut milk for a few hours/overnight and then the solids and liquid will separate. remove the liquid and whip the solids for a luscious coconut whipped cream! (you can add the liquid to a smoothie or drink it as is)
@sarahcarey9849 жыл бұрын
patlagik this thing is definitely a fat bomb. let me know if you get a great version without so much! I'll give it a try.

Can you make this with less condensed milk? I love coconut ice cream but have to be careful of not having too much sugar.. I guess it doesn’t hurt to try it with half or 1/3 condensed milk? Thanks! Looks delicious!
@1999Minie9 жыл бұрын
You can substitute the heavy cream using a can of coconut milk that you removed the liquid by refrigerating it and than making a hole at the base to drain it. When you whip it, you have the smae result.

Do you have a version of this recipe WITHOUT the Condensed Milk as an ingredient which is like LOADED with sugar?
@velops9 жыл бұрын
Stephanie Treasure The sweetened condensed milk is the only source of sugar and the recipe makes 1.5 quarts. Sweetened condensed milk is a crucial ingredient in the "no churn" method. It is not a simple substitution because this is a shortcut recipe that uses only a few ingredients.
@mb-179 жыл бұрын
Nope. Just make normal ice cream then.
@kimberlywilson79296 жыл бұрын
In traditional ice-cream, the egg yolks would do the job of the condensed milk. But that's more involved, and you would have to use a simple syrup to add sugar and to "cook" the eggs. which also requires tempering the eggs, which is not hard, but again more steps and more advanced technique.
@ROSE_reddy5 жыл бұрын
Evaporated milk and then add as much sugar as you'd like. I don't think you'd need the cream because it whips up like cream, look up evaporated milk ice cream-theres a precise method that u have to follow.

@leftyla9 жыл бұрын
Memoria James I agree. The origin of this recipe goes way before Gemmastaford. To say they copied her is ridiculous. It's like saying +Gammastaford invented cake!
@sarahcarey9849 жыл бұрын
Gabriela Maysonet Hi, not sure who Gemmastaford is, but we have been making no-churn ice cream like this at Everyday food for a few years. I definitely check our her recipes though!
@luciole7819 жыл бұрын
Gabriela Maysonet saying that they copy that gemmastaford is saying that you assume that they know that channel , plus I doubt really that this gemma blabla invent that recipe. Do you really thing that people just create recipe yesterday ? those recipe exist for years and years ..what they do is only showing you how to make them and giving different ways on how to do it,they can optimize them , redesign them , but at the end nobody can claim to have the credit for it/ with one recipe you can have thousand ways to do it , with different result. Then stop assuming that we knows all the channel , and cook book and magazine ect of course that recipe wasnt fully invented yesterday and certainly not either by your gemma... !

Creamy and light in calories it's not. Heavy whipping cream and all that condensed milk? Might as well get your fatten ice cream from the super market. It may taste great but if you're concerned about all that sugar and fat this isn't it. Hope you guys can come up with a much healthier version of this.
@imogenwalters56028 жыл бұрын
There is a really good dairy free coconut ice cream recipe on Gemma Stafford's channel. Also, I like making banana ice cream and I add light coconut milk as well as coconut or vanilla extract. The latter is lower in calories and fat, but I have tried Gemma Stafford's recipe and it tastes a lot more like regular ice cream with a hint of coconut, absolutely delicious :)
