It's a good idea that you've chosen to use it Saturday, instead of Sunday. Because caffeine is a drug, it's gonna give you energy, but it's just a borrowed energy. You might need to pay the price later, and it's better payed in Sunday rather than Monday.

Thanks for sharing your previous video and for this update. For me, today is day 9 with no caffeine. I was a heavy drinker for many years. I hope I can stay off completely the rest of my life. No decaf coffee, it has a little caffeine, enough to get me hooked when I tried to quit in the past. It's an addictive drug and you're getting hooked again on those caffeine bars. If you're like me, just having it once a week is the first step to full blown addiction. I'm a recovering alcoholic, 27 years sober. They don't tell alcoholics that it's OK to have one drink every week. Sorry but addiction doesn't work that way.

Thank you for the comment. I agree with all you said. I do not eat the caffeine bars anymore, but I have a cup of tea in the morning. This does not mess with my sleep and when I leave it away, I do not get any withdrawal symptoms. Too much caffeine is definitely not a great idea, but a bit seems not to hurt and I can control it very well up to now. I guess, alcohol affects you on a different level. It can be very dangerous and has been to many people. That is, why I do not drink it. I wish you all the best for your journey without caffeine and especially without alcohol.

i have quit both alcohol and caffeine at the same time after decades of overuse. 75 days no alcohol and 40 days no caffeine...after massive daily consumption of both. I would have thought I would feel better than I actually do after giving them both up...but Im still glad I am doing this...maybe Ill feel better when im off both for 90 days ormore...but as I said - Im glad I am doing this. For me, caffeine is one of the worst drugs out there. Anything that ruins your sleep is not a good idea. I honestly think it’s worse than alcohol…

@@galaxysiiq8 obviously alcohol is worse than caffeine, but they both damage your sleep which can end up giving you Alzheimer’s. Both are not good in the long run

Thanks. I'm just going to quit caffeine tomorrow. I'm gradually cutting down to zero over the next month. Mixing my ground coffee with caffeine-free coffee substitutes and cutting down week-on-week.

@@Richard_Buurstra Today is basically the 36th day, I wake up naturally, I sleep deeply, I feel better. On the 29 day I had what I thought was a cup of Teeccino herbal coffee, but my friend brewed with 6 (six) coffee beans ground in there - and I was instantly motor mouth and jittery, I was like, WOW What Was In That Teeccino? ! I don't count that as a coffee event tho

Koffein ganz lassen! This one bar on Saturday is a timebomb waiting to go off. Yes, you're getting that euphoric "first time" feeling . . . which is exactly how addictions take root and grow. Eventually you'll eat two (and even more) of these bars -- because that euphoric rush is so great and just one isn't quite enough anymore. Fazit: All drugs do the same thing, they steal your very personal feelings of wonderment and amazement -- then you have to go back to the drug to beg for that wonderful feeling again. I've come to the conclusion that the human is wired to chase after what Dostoevsky called the "presence of eternal harmony." So yes, the first-time euphoric coffee buzz is a huge fake-out for that "magical realm." But the cruel truth is, all drugs pretend to give you a glimpse of euphoric eternal harmony . . . but then fail you miserably in the end. This all has something very deep to do with entropy, BTW. Haven't quite figured it out yet. HTH/YMMV.

Interesting experiment. I just wonder how you slept on that Saturday night. Because sleep is the main issue for me. If I even have one cup of tea during the day, I will wake up at night with my heart pounding.

You're very sensitive to caffeine, you should dilute it as much as you can, using decaffeinated tea, and too much mint.

I slept very well. There are 2,4g of coffee in the protein bar. Having that at 8 in the morning does not do anything with my sleep at night.

Hey, thanks for your good inspiring work! And congrats on your sustained success in terms of freedom from caffeine! However, I do not entirely agree with you that caffeine has no effects other than impacting one’s life quality: The coffee plant is actually said to have its own intelligence and it’s energetically rather a dark intelligence. Comparable to the psychology of a loanshark: you get all the tangible Benefits right now, but will pay back more later. Caffeine is a productivity drug. Some say that industrialization wouldn’t have been possible without the introduction of caffeine to our society. Others I heard say that there wouldn’t be any war without caffeine anymore. Food for thought 😊

Oh dear, your first video on coffee was very inspiring. I wanted to hear that 18 months later you have no regrets. But you are eating it? Nooo... slippery slope... Someone DID GIVE YOU DRUGS! And like all addictive drugs it will come and get you. Would be interested two years later what's going on for you...

I am having one cup of tea every morning and that is it. I think, I just enjoy the ritual. I can leave it away without getting any headaches or feeling tired and I am not noticing any drawbacks. People, who are having a lot of coffee still seem either more tired or stressed than I am feeling. I recently read that there are genes that control how addictive caffein is for you and if it causes anxiety. So the effects might be very individual and everyone should draw their own conclusions. Mine is: A little bit in the morning is Ok, but not more. If you can't control it, it is better not to consume it at all.
