A bar is not a Public House. A cafe can have a bar example in Back to the Future there was a bar in the cafe selling drinks. We have some like that but it's more common in a Public House. A lot of Public Houses have rooms to let which turns them into Hotels. I agree that non-alcholic beer seems pointless as there better non-alcohol drinks.
@thegrinderman109011 ай бұрын
Alcohol-free beer is sold for about the same price as alcoholic beer pretty much anywhere you go. There are lots of people looking to cut out alcohol, but struggle to give up the social aspects of a night out. I think that alcohol-free bar is a decent idea, but I suspect the atmosphere would be a bit sad.
@HolyFreakinDragonSlayer11 ай бұрын
Alcohol free beer and wine also cost more to produce hence why the price averages or is slightly more pricey than alcoholic beverages. Also another cost accumulated would be non alcoholic beverages bar soft drinks are never seen on draft and always bottled or canned adding more cost to the production line.
@thegrinderman109011 ай бұрын
@HolyFreakinDragonSlayer Does that really equal the tax paid on alcohol though? I doubt it. It's the same with a lot of vegan meat substitutes being similar cost to meat. I think they just know they can get away with it.
@zkp11 ай бұрын
@@thegrinderman1090 They are craft beer breweries too, smaller production scale so the beers are more expensive
@thegrinderman109011 ай бұрын
@zkp Well, yes, but we can compare non-alcolic microbrewery beer with alcoholic microbrewery beer, and that variable is cancelled out. When you buy a can or bottle of beer, about 50p is alcohol tax. When you buy a pint of draught beer from a pub, about 25p is tax. That alcohol-free bar pays no alcohol tax, nor does it need to pay for an alcohol license. Depending on how it's made, alcohol-free beer can also be a cheaper brewing process because you don't have to wait for it to ferment. (Although it can also be made by brewing regular beer and then removing the alcohol, which would be more expensive overall.) Either way, I think it's a cool idea. Personally, I'd rather just stay at home than spend a night buying £5+ pints while being sober throughout.

Hell, I was in a whisky-tasting place that served no other liquor but whisky the other day, and even they had a range of soft drinks and juices on offer... Probably my best "wtf did I do last night" story was when I woke up to discover that I had lost my trousers (pants still on, luckily, with my phone and wallet somehow tucked in the waistband) and shoes, with my knuckles battered like I'd been in a fight (weirdly not a scratch on me, though) and with a ticket to an ice skating rink I have no memory of ever going to in my shirt pocket. Oh yeah I also found out later that I had somehow managed to get myself barred from my local Spoons (apparently for taking off my trousers and dancing on a table, which cleared up one mystery at least), although they later rescinded the ban after I apologised a lot lol.
