No difference between male and female salah

JazakAllahKhair, my wife and I are reverts and when she learned about the prayer from online sources she was also told to pray differently than me. Alhamdulillah Allah swt guided her to the truth and helped her and me distinguish between right and wrong. Generally I see this way too often, people follow others blindly, sometimes even knowing that its not from the sunnah, but they dont want to change their ways. I dont understand this. May Allah swt guide us all!

Prophet Muhammad (p.b.u.h.) said, "Pray as you have seen me praying" , SAHIH BUKHARI (Volume 1 Book 11 HADITH 604). , if there would have been any difference , He (p.b.u.h.) would have specified it. a woman can cover herself by a big veil , for her hijab.

No, this shaykh is misleading the women, there are some specific differences between the salah of men & women , we should always follow the quran & Sunnah but in accordance to the teachings of our pious predecessors (salfus saaliheen) that's the safest way

Can anyone of you quote a single muhaddith from the pious predecessors who has qouted this hadith " pray as you have seen me praying" as evidence that there is no difference in salah between men & women ? you won't be able to do this because no muhaddith has sach an opinion.

You have quoted incomplete hadith, you are hiding the next part of the hadith which says " & when it is the time for prayer one of you should pronounce the adhaan & the oldest of you should lead the prayer." now you should act on this sentence" you should pronounce the adhaan" because this is mentioned in the hadith. if you know arabic you can understand this فاذا حضرت الصلاة فليوذن لكم احدكم وليومكم اكبركم Imam Bukhari has mentioned this hadith several times Hadith no 628, 630, 631, 658, 685, 819, 2748, 6008 & 7246 ( published by Darus salaam, Riyadh)

Jazakumullah khair shaikh for this clarification. The only problem I fathom with this issue is muslims' incapability to understand arabic which renders them ignorant of the information of who are been addressed in the ahadith such as they do not deem any differences between the pronouns used for men and the ones used for women or both. This is why we need to understand arabic in the first place to benefit with the true essence of Quran.

The Hadith he started with was clearly referred to a group of young boys. Now about not having any hadith on difference in salah between male and female is totally wrong here i give an example " It is narrated by Abu Hurraira (ra) that the Prophet (Peace be upon him) said: Tasbeeh is for men whereas clapping is for women"(this hadith is in Sahih al-Bukhari(Book 21, Hadith 7), Sahih Muslim(Book 4, Hadith 116), Jami` at-Tirmidhi(Book 2, Hadith 221 ),Sunan an-Nasa'i( Book 13, Hadith 31 ),Sunan Ibn Majah(Book 5, Hadith 1087),Al-Adab Al-Mufrad(Book 31, Hadith 723),Sunan Abi Dawud(Book 2, Hadith 550) also in many other books and 100% authentic).there always was a difference in salah at the time of Habib(p.b.u.h.),at the time of sahaba(ra), at the time of Tabiyeen(r), and so on.About Umm ad-Darda (rah) I don’t wanna talk about it, I am sure at the day of judgment Umm ad-Darda (rah)will ask Allah(swt) to do justice against all this ppl who are spreading false teaching in her name. I can go on end up writing an easy about it but i m sure this will be enough for a knowledge seeker to look for the right path. Allah(SWT) and his Habib(p.b.u.h.) knows best.

from 122 hadith found in 'Call to Prayers (Adhaan)' of Sahih Bukhari. 604 Narrated Malik: We came to the Prophet and stayed with him for twenty days and nights. We were all young and of about the same age. The Prophet was very kind and merciful. When he realized our longing for our families, he asked about our homes and the people there and we told him. Then he asked us to go back to our families and stay with them and teach them (the religion) and to order them to do good things. He also mentioned some other things which I have (remembered or) forgotten. The Prophet then added, "Pray as you have seen me praying and when it is the time for the prayer one of you should pronounce the Adhan and the oldest of you should lead the prayer. Why is the salafis don't quote the full hadees. If you take a closer look at this hadees it's crystal clear the instructions in this hadees for men only. If women's prayer same as men's as the salafis says according to this hadees. then according to this hadees women should be leading the prayer and calling the adhan aswell.

No its clear that the Hadith is saying that the men have to teach their wives about Islam and how to pray. If it only mentioned about men I'm pretty sure Aisha R.A would've mentioned the differences between men and women praying but she doesn't. And there is another Hadith that mentioned if you put your elbows down during prayer it resembles of a dog!

The interpretation of the Hadith in Bukhari " pray as you have seen me praying" provided by this shaykh was never given by any reliable scholar of the past. Not a single traditional muhaddith or commentator of Sahih Bukhari, including the likes of Ibn Hajar Asqalani, Allamah Aini, Ibn Battaal etc had given this interpretation. His personal interpretation of the hadith cannot be accepted at all, because it goes against other muhadditheen of the past. So the safest way is to follow the pious predecessors (salfus saaliheen)

@@normalinaabnormalway8851 I've already seen these videos, Our pious predecessors understood Quran and sunnah better than these modern scholars , They all are quoting a single hadith of sahih bukhari "pray as you have seen me praying" but unfortunately all these modern scholars deliberately hide the next part of the hadith which is " when it is the time for the prayer ONE OF YOU should pronounce the ADHAAN and the oldest of you should lead the prayer." If you know arabic what does this mean ? فاذا حضرت الصلاة فليؤذن لكم احدكمْ Ask Any reliable scholar to translate these words . Here the Wording ONE OF YOU is for boht men and women, so from this hadith it is permissible for a woman to pronounce adhaan , then why these modern scholars restrict a woman from pronouncing adhaan ?? That's why none of the classical reliable scholar like imam Nawawi imam shafie imam Ahmad bin hambal imam Bayhaqi imam ibn jawzi imam ibn abi shaybah (teacher of imam Bukhari) etc took this hadith as a proof that there is no difference between the salah of a man and a woman

The woman should keep her limbs close to her body during rukoo’ and sujood, and not spread them out, because this is more modest and covering. (Al-Mughni 2/258). Al-Nawawi said: "Al-Shaafi’i said, in al-Mukhtasar: there is no difference between men and women in prayer, except that women should keep the parts of their bodies close to one another, and they should make their stomachs touch their thighs during sujood. This is more covering and preferable, in rukoo’ and the rest of the prayer too." (See al-Majmoo’ 3/429).

imaam abu hanifa is an ultimate scholar and women have to pray differently because they would need to cover themselves and there are hadiths which have stated that the womens pray is different..how can this man claim that there is no hadith saying this and that when there are hundereds of hadiths and is he claiming he has read all each and every hadith.. please dont put words of your own in to hadiths...everything must be according to hadith... please check your references before giving fathwas from yourself....

we of our own selves must not do any alterations to the religion. If there is evidence like the sheikh has given then you are free to follow that way. but the absence of something is not the evidence, in this case there is no hadith for women prayers to be different than men, hence, we must follow what is visibly present in the literature. Irony is that women would like to stand by men in all walks of life as equals but when it comes to a uniform style of prayer, which by the way is supported by evidence , they would think twice.

Jazakallah brother. First of all the fuqah of our early generation where welll versed then shaikh Asim al hakim. I will always prefer opinion of imam abu Hanifa, Imam shafii,Imam Malik and Imam Ahmed opinion instead of Shaikh Aseem. None of the salaf of early three generation the meaning of this as Shaikh Aseem is taking.if I am wrong plz plz provide the statement of early three generation salaf understanding the meaning of hadees similarly to Shaikh Aseem. There are number of athar available where great fuqahs of this ummah has clearly differentiated between salah of men and women. There is one example where prophet Muhammad peace be upon him said similar think as salah that is for hajj. But in hajj male runs and women walks but can shaikh aseem provide me hadees for women to walk. He can't provide coz there is no hadees in which it is said women to walk but still shaikh Aseem will say women should walk now this I what we got from salaf athar and there fatawa but prophet has said perform Hajj exactly as u have seen me.( I don't remember exact word of hadith).he ran at the ground.there is no word of women to walk can. Plz ask Shaikh Aseem about this and refute me with hadith.

The Hadith he started with was clearly referred to a group of young boys. Now about not having any hadith on difference in salah between male and female is totally wrong here i give an example " It is narrated by Abu Hurraira (ra) that the Prophet (Peace be upon him) said: Tasbeeh is for men whereas clapping is for women"(this hadith is in Sahih al-Bukhari(Book 21, Hadith 7), Sahih Muslim(Book 4, Hadith 116), Jami` at-Tirmidhi(Book 2, Hadith 221 ),Sunan an-Nasa'i( Book 13, Hadith 31 ),Sunan Ibn Majah(Book 5, Hadith 1087),Al-Adab Al-Mufrad(Book 31, Hadith 723),Sunan Abi Dawud(Book 2, Hadith 550) also in many other books and 100% authentic).there always was a difference in salah at the time of Habib(p.b.u.h.),at the time of sahaba(ra), at the time of Tabiyeen(r), and so on.About Umm ad-Darda (rah) I don’t wanna talk about it, I am sure at the day of judgment Umm ad-Darda (rah)will ask Allah(swt) to do justice against all this ppl who are spreading false teaching in her name. It means a lady also can be IMAM according to this Hadith ? and if not then WHY? O brother there is always difference in many practices of Islam for men and women. Do not confuse the Muslims due to your lack of Islamic knowledge. Complete knowledge for every MASLA is needed to prove it accordingly.

Actually, he mentions it very specifically. There is no separate kitabul salah for us ladies. He is right. He isnt talking about who leads, because that has been made clear, no need to talk about something out nabi made clear, right? Our Rasool did not make much difference between women and men, but if we look at it today, its being made a huge thing. And this is what the Imam is talking about. Its this huge thing, and its not.
