Your embouchure videos had a huge impact on my sound. I changed to "goldfish embouchure" and I'm getting a lot closer to my sound ideal. Also the lower lip does no longer hurt.

Thank you so much for this video! I'm 76 yr. old coming from the clarinet side. Always biting, teeth marks through the mouthpiece patch. Now I'm using this easy to understand technique and it is helping me in so many good ways. Thanks again!

I can highly recommend the Inner Circle. Whilst I can't say I've been a hugely active member due to time constraints , there is a wealth of content to access and some great folks too. One day I'll finally record an entry for the monthly challenge!

Do you have any advice on playing a tenor and a bari at the same time like Dana Colley in the band Morphine?

I have seen the Video you are speaking of and have done the exercises. Question is, how to incorporate the same idea with the Neck is connected to the Sax ?
@GetYourSaxTogether7 ай бұрын
It’s just the same thing pretty much.
@reedclippings89918 ай бұрын
Nice! I do still need to be persuaded that the sound change here is caused by anything other than reed pressure. so like, how does this compare to a clarinet-like embouchure with a lowered jaw to remove reed pressure/bite?
@GetYourSaxTogether7 ай бұрын
Complex question. Ask me in the inner circle membership and I’ll hook you up!

Never heard about that but funny video 😂. What about the tune? Is it only valuable with a double lip embouchure or you really don't use any cushion with any lip?

Can’t work out the question, sorry!

So quick question. When I play with a loose or no embochure my high end notes sound like garbage and my intonation is terrible! I'm always tinkering with my embochure and feel like I need more resistance to get a pure, centered tone that I just can't seem to get from this. Is this a universal approach or geared more towards developing players?

Is your bottom lip in contact at all with your teeth? After learning a classical embouchure and then transitioning to a more lip out embouchure, I still have a slight, minimal amount of lip in between my bottomw teeth and the mouthpiece. With this method is that correct or should there be no bottom lip/teeth contact?
@JulietGreen8 ай бұрын
I'm in the same position. Less so on tenor middle to bottom notes, but for alto at the top, I notice part of my lower lip creep in between my teeth and the mp, even if I stick my lip out. I wonder how long it would take to get rid of this altogether.
@GetYourSaxTogether8 ай бұрын
Yes, there is still bottom lip over my teeth.

I'll tell you what I learned about embouchure last night: that it's really hard to maintain that circle when someone pulls out a large rubber fish and uses it to pretend they're playing sax.
