I couldn't see the Swallows, but what a gorgeous blue sky! The way you've made yourself so self-sufficient there at Bealtaine is both impressive and inspiring. It's like you've put up a shield to block out the chaos and insecurities of this man-made world of "inflation" and "shortages" which gives so many of us such anxiety. I feel at the mercy of the powers that be in an apartment building. I've tried to grow plants indoors, but my silly cat eats them!

I bought a Kelly Kettle about 4 or 5 years ago when I first saw you using one. Last month I bought the cooking attachments from the company in Ireland. Its design, with the central chimney, is ingenious with a kind of "rocket stove" design. A worthwhile investment for sure, perfect for hot summer days when I don't want to heat up the house, or any time of year when I want to save money. Thank you for letting us know about it Colette. Blessings to you!

I had bought a Kelly Kettle earlier after one of your previous videos. I just love it and all old school/old technology gadgets like this. Kelly kettles are fantastic. I only discovered them a few months ago at a volunteer group and was confused about how it worked! I lifted it off the fire with the handle above the chimney and burned my hand and dropped it, thankfully no casualties but my sore hand and embarrassed self! My own fault for rushing but definitely good to practice how to lift it before it's all hot for some of us. They're excellent tho, a great suggestion for us all at home or camping.. Much more fun too lol. Ps loved the video as always. Hope you have a lovely weekend 😊💚💚

Hi Collette, brought a friend camping some years back and asked her to fill the Kelly kettle, after awhile she was quite mad at me saying I was playing a trick on her, there was no bottom in the kettle and the water was spilling out the bottom 😂😂😂 I still remind her 😂😂😂

Thank you for taking the time to do the little voiceover because it really does make a massive difference to the enjoyment of your videos being able to easily hear what you are sharing. While I know it has always been your policy to not allow any advertising I would like to share something with you that someone else on KZbin does that you may like to consider. Basically if he is offered an item to review he always insists that the company gives him two of said item so that he keep one and give the second one away. This to me seemed like a nice win win situation for all involved. He only does this with items that he likes to use himself. Just a thought. I’m enjoying your video diaries. 🍀

Thank you for this! I, too, left the city years ago to live in the woods and we have millions of sticks/twigs and often experience power outages. I look for ways of living simply and not so dependent on electricity. Each of your videos brings a happy moment of realizing there are ways to get nourishment from the earth, to listen to what Mother Earth is saying. I'm lucky to be surrounded by several small farms and homesteading families who cherish their privacy, yet share their wisdom in living off the land. Very grateful to have found this channel. Blessings!

Brilliant❤️ Resourceful… conservation minded and creative. I LOVE it Collette. Ya know yesterday the subject of loneliness and being out there on your own…. Well, I was very pensive bout that🤔 yesterday after watching, and wondering if I myself could REALLY DO something like that. But… I was reminded quickly(!)again that you own a car…so you can go places, to the coast, to museums etc, and enjoy your own company with nature. And even go every now and then go get your hair done as a girly treat just for you. I believe you also have family you can visit with when needed😊. So…. It all sounds like a great way of life for Body… mind and soul wellness. Love to you and your life there at BC

I enjoyed the video and the concept of the voice-over. I had seen you use the Kelly Kettle in a previous video and was intrigued, as where I live we sometimes lose power due to occasional hurricanes, blizzards, or heavy winds coming in off the coast. I don't want the expense and stress of getting a generator, but I wanted to be able to brew a cup of tea (and I drink a lot of it) and have hot water for washing, so I went online and did some research into this ingenious device, read the reviews, and bought one. It's very easy to use on little fuel, even pinecones, so thank you for the introduction.

I love this. I came in from the garden to boil my electric kettle for a cuppa as I started watching, and I'd say our cups of tea were ready at about the same time. Except mine cost me for electricity and yours was free! I've been looking at Kelly kettles lately and think I'll try to get one. I remember you doing a video quite a while back with a similar, maybe slightly bigger, one I think, and I was inspired then but never got around to it. With the energy crisis now, I'll definitely get myself moving on this. Thanks as always Colette.

Thank you for considering the possibility. I look forward to exploring your other offerings. I'm trying to remember how I found you but I think it was Revealing Light Tarot and the lovely Mary Ann.
