As a Bok supporter I could not understand the over-confident banter on this channel. I thought it was so over hyped by totally writing the all blacks off. Not even a tinge of humility. This chat may have been deserved perhaps after a 2nd test loss to the Springboks. But "Italy would beat them" nonsense.... I just shook my head and said slow down boys. Watch out. And here we are ....

Many of the games the Boks play in they dominate in terms of scrums, rucks & mauls etc but that dominance doesn't reflect on the score board... where it really matters. If it were NZ or Ireland, they would be 20-30 points ahead and the game would be over before the 80mins. That's what concerns me as a Bok supporter.

yeah man totally agreed. Love the Boks but we sadly often do snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. Been waiting for their post match vid, seems taking a while to put together. You think it shouldn't influence the players, but Boks looked less focused this week. Wonder if all the media hype of them being favourites didn't help them get up for the occasion properly. As in reality they haven't beaten NZ twice in one year since 2009. And also haven't won freedom cup since then. So really the focus should have been on how unlikely it is to beat NZ twice. As an all blacks fan I’ve been watching a deterioration since the last couple of years of hansens reign. It was natural when the all time greats were al retiring but what we all expected was a fresh approach and fresh tactics with new guys coming through. We kept waiting for plan B and maybe even dare to dream plan C. Especially when we’d play against teams like Ireland and even England and see their phase play stretch our defence constantly while the forwards outmuscled us. But sadly it hasn’t happened and it’s hard to say how frustrating it is for so many NZ fans to watch this Foster coached and NZRU backed slow car crash. I think this is a very very good SA team especially in the forwards and I don’t see us beating them for a while. I think as it stands we’d be underdogs to Ireland France England Wales and South Africa. Please come over and teach our forwards some of the SA way as we’re going backwards quick. Have fun thrashing us again this weekend, like you say it’s all cycles and if we’re not gonna be good prefer you guys to be the ones leading the pack and winning over the NH teams

Now that is an honest assessment - yup, AB's have to prepare players living on the edge of real competition for their places in the team and as that competition INTENSIFIES so then does the PERFORMANCE of each player - Sir Alex did that at Man Utd and I think Ireland and Wales have done that as well to close the gap on SH - France are real WC contenders especially at home - would love to see a France and SA final next year - remember though - everybody learns more from DEFEAT than victory...

I too felt they could have scored more points. Boks need to back themselves outside and run it more, especially in final 20mins. They're methodical at wearing the ABs down with rushed and physical defence forcing the kiwis to kick ball away aimlessly. Boks have some very pacey and talented outside backs. Run the ball more instead of predictably kicking it. Geez, they even kick it inside the 40m of their opponents field!
@austingtir2 жыл бұрын
Because you guys CANT put a big score on. Both your tries last week came from not much. The first try was a forward pass and the last one was just a shit happens when your chasing the game thing you never really looked remotely like scoring other than those two moments just like us. For how great you guys are claiming this bok side you should be putting 40 on us but I bet you dont. Frankly I think Ireland and France are better and Ireland will put 30+ on you guys at the end of the year.
@mitch29242 жыл бұрын
@@austingtir buddy you only put points on the board due to schoolboy mistakes by the Boks. Our 1st try beautifully work, a bit of running rugby, followed by a high ball which came of Barrett, recover and try time, nothing lucky about that one. The 2nd one the AB just couldn’t deal with the amount of defensive pressure which resulted in their mistake so again beautifully done by SA. You Kiwi’s need to learn to take your losses like you took your wins. Ireland put 30 on us 😂😂😂. Still battling to suck that series loss up.

@@mitch2924 Come on, it's not about taking our losses. It's about being honest, and being honest, both South Africas tries were from mistakes... not set plays, mistakes. Ankhyano Am is the best centre in the world, yet he is doing nothing in test rugby.

@@subhuman119 SA worked both those tries beautifully, nothing was lucky about them clearly you battle to accept SA who is a pentaly kicking team actually put 2 well worked tries. NZ on the other hand got lucky with SA’s schoolboy mistakes. I think be careful about criticising our Springboks, right now the AB should be the last to say anything about another rugby team other than themselves. The first try started with a lineout, running rugby to the opposite side of the field, followed by a high ball, to much pressure on Barrett and try time. The 2nd try NZ couldn’t deal with the pressure, the defensive pressure (SA doing the work) caused us to score the try. AB’s finished fresher and all over the Boks and the ‘bomb squad’ (which had to be bought on early because the non bomb squad couldn't cope with AB game pace) - at altitude, in their home conditions. Ellis Park isn’t the fortress for Boks that Eden Park is for AB’s. Bomb squad is just 6 bench forwards, which eventually will see a loosie playing on wing, if Boks keep losing backs to early injuries. I don't see us winning any games with Foster in charge, the selections and strategies he chooses is just beyond me and every other New Zealander. I hope we go there and get thrashed because NZRU will have no choice but to sack Foster, once he goes I honestly believe it'll make a huge difference.

And it will come round. This is the worst I've ever seen the ABs in nearly 50 years watching them, and quite frankly to only lose by 16 was more an indictment on the Bok's lack of attack. The skill is there (just ask Ireland from Test 1) so fresh coaching and ideas is all they need to kick butt again. Put it another way, they're only losing cos they're playing badly rather than anyone else getting better. Would any international side today beat the ABs of 5-6 years ago? I don't think so. France are promising but didn't exactly destroy Japan last month. Ireland are maybe a bit more efficient, but 1st test showed a) how much they rely on Sexton b) how quickly they can crumble under pressure. ABs only played 15-20min of good rugby and hammered them. England couldn't beat an average 14man Aussie side. Aussie would still be underdogs to win the Bledisloe even if nothing changes in the AB camp. SA got well beaten in the pool game in Japan. Last year was 1-1 even with massive cracks already showing in the ABs So if Razor comes in next week and has even half the impact we expect, I'd be having ABs as favourites for the RWC, maybe joint with France as they will be formidable at home if they control the emotion. And I suspect WR will be looking very closely at SA's aerial tactics over the coming months so might force a rethink there.

Even a bad Ab's side won't ever get smashed by the best bok side, AB's will bounce back this weekend... Would like a massive bok win but realistically it's never going to happen... NZ brains trust are far too intelligent to let it happen, we will be lucky if we win this coming weekend.

As an All blacks supporter I don’t remember hearing commentators or supporters talk about the fear of South Africa so much leading into a series against the Boks. The respect was always there but there was never fear like we’re seeing and hearing now. It’s a sign of where the AB’s are at the moment, they’ve lost their DNA and need to find it quick. Sam Cane is a step off the pace for me, in the past our captain has been our best player and lead by example but I’m not seeing that with Cane and it’s having a bad effect on the team. Take nothing away from the Boks they’ve earned to be where they are right now. Even the good All blacks sides were never guaranteed a win against the Boks but at least you knew they’d compete to the death.
@Bokfanlettucelip2 жыл бұрын
100 percent. It is virtually impossible to be the top team in the world year in and year out. The gaps between the top teams is razor thin. So the expectation that the ABs will win every match is unrealistic. ABs will have to go through a rebuilding phase like everyone else. May the best team win on Saturday. FYI nothing wrong with All Black rugby DNA!
@dallasmitchell69992 жыл бұрын
@@Bokfanlettucelip you’re right maybe that was a bit harsh to say about the DNA. I guess I meant they’ve lost their way but you’re right, every team experiences this from time to time. May the best team win! Looking forward to it👍🏽

I am a fan of Great All Blacks, as I am Sri lankan and followed their matches over 20 years .At present period i am very regret to see this AB teams losses. After retirement of Richi Mcowa, Kieran Read, Sunny bill williams, Ma-Nonu, Dan Carter and some other veterans caused a big damage to maintain the superiority. There are lots of upcoming good players when consider the super Rugby tournament. But still hoping AB's comeback from the 2nd match against SA. Good Luck all players, coaches for the next match.

As a Kiwi I work alongside many ex-pat South Africans who are wonderful, lovely, humble people. I am confused by this trio, surely they are not a representation of the common view in SA. I love the banter and the respect for each other, but this is neither, it is downright arrogant disrespect. Sure we won at Ellis Park but I was on edge for the full 80 minutes. Growing up in the 60s and 70s I had the greatest respect for the Boks, and still do. When we beat SA 57 - 0 that for me was the saddest day in World Rugby. Two Giants coming together, one should never fall so easily.
