I have a real problem right now. When I create shoes for women at printful (not unisex) then I see the sizes as mens in my Etsy store. I've already written printful and tried everything on Etsy. I've already chatted with Etsy, I'm still waiting for an email from Printful. Maybe you can help me? When I create men's shoes, everything runs normally
@brenondopp
@brenondopp Жыл бұрын
Hi Nina! I’m sorry to hear about these current issues you are having. Unfortunately, this is a common issue with Printful and I’ve experienced it in the past with clothing as well. I'm not sure if it's the same for shoes, but here's what I've discovered with my unisex clothing products: - If you push it as Women's, it will show the sizing options on Etsy as "S US women's letter, M US women's letter," etc. - If you push it as Unisex, it will show the sizing options on Etsy as "S Letter size (Men's), M Letter size (Men's)," etc. - If you push it as Men's, it will show the sizing options on Etsy as "S US letter, chest; M US letter, chest" etc. It's really confusing. 😅 I push mine as Men's so that it just shows the size and doesn't say Men's or Women's, but it might be different for shoes. Sorry I don't have a better answer for you! To fix the listings that have already been pushed to your store, go to your listing on Etsy > scroll down to “Variations” > select “Edit variations” > delete the existing variations > select the drop down arrow under “Add a variation” > scroll to the bottom and select “Create a new variation” > name the variation > add your different options > after doing so, select “Update.” Afterwards, you will need to go back to Printful and sync your changes with the corresponding variants if it becomes unsynced. It usually will unsync itself when you delete the variations on Etsy’s end (make sure your "import existing products" setting is turned on in your Printful account so that the new variations will show up). Depending on how many variations you have, you can wait to sync them until it sells if you prefer not to spend the time doing it right now. I hope this helps!

Great video Brenon! Is it a good idea to open a general Etsy store and have a mix of a lot of niches and products in 1 store so that it becomes easier to manage the store from just 1 email account and from customer support perspective? I am planning to open 2 Etsy stores wherein 1 store will be dedicated to only giftable jewelry but my second Etsy store will have POD items like mugs,tees,sweatshirts etc from multiple evergreen and trendy niches and also digital download items like printables,canva templates,planners, social media templates to make it easier for me as I still work full-time so managing multiple Niche stores simultaneously will be difficult for me, would really appreciate your thoughts on this, thanks ahead of time🙏
@brenondopp
@brenondopp Жыл бұрын
Hi! That is a great question. Ultimately, it's up to you how you want to set your stores up depending on how you want to stay organized and run your shops. Since Etsy is a search engine based website, your shop itself isn't as much of a deal as your individual listings because most people find and purchase a listing without even visiting your shop. Is your giftable jewelry print on demand? I probably would do all physical products in one store and then digital in another, unless the jewelry you're selling is jewelry you're making yourself or shipping from a different provider than your POD products because you won't want to deal with split orders or figuring out shipping costs for your different items if they're ordered together. If you plan on selling digital products, then it might be a good idea to separate that from your physical products and open a digital product store so it's easier to run, will look cohesive, and will create a shop that people can return to if they're looking for specific digital products. Like I said earlier though, do what's best for you! It’s entirely up to you. You could also just start with one of your shop ideas so you don't get overwhelmed with running all 3 at once, especially if you're working a full-time job simultaneously. I hope this helps! Thanks for watching!
@Om-gg5tk
@Om-gg5tk Жыл бұрын
@@brenondopp Thanks Brenon! Yes my giftable jewelry is print on demand jewelry from shineon serving the family niche. I will follow your advice on opening a digital store seperately, makes complete sense to me! Just 1 last question, i recently read the 80/20 book by Richard Koch which says 80/20 principle allows to every area of your life as in 20% products bring 80% revenue, 20% of repeat customers bringing in 80% income in your business, 20% of keywords generate 80% of sales. I am curious how has your experience being with regards to this principle in your shop as in dies this apply to Etsy sales as well? The reason I am asking this is because I am planning to create a general POD store which will have multiple niches but designs based on trends only on what customers are searching currently by studying data from tools like erank and marmalead. Do you think this is a good strategy? Also I am planning to hire designers either from Upwork or Fiverr for my PPD designs, would appreciate if you can share your experience working with designers from these platforms if you have hired designers in the past and how to go about it. Thanks 🙏
@brenondopp
@brenondopp Жыл бұрын
I think this principle is very true! We have a handful of listings that perform very well for us and generate most of our sales and revenue. I think your plan to create a general POD store with multiple niches that are trending is very smart. The best strategy is to not reinvent the wheel and to sell what is already selling but with your own unique twist and spin off it. You can’t just copy and recreate what is already selling, but you can use similar elements like retro fonts and color palettes and trend combine with things that are working. Once you find a niche or design that does really well for you, double down on it! In regards to hiring a designer, I don’t have any experience with this. My wife does the majority of our designing and uses different programs to do it. I wish I could offer more help with this topic! If you are able to find a designer that is affordable and does good work, then I think it could be a great investment. I would make sure you do your research and read reviews and not just hire anyone. I wish you the best!

I have a full time job and don’t want my colleagues to know that I am selling on Etsy. So I am wondering if I can use a pen name instead? Or for example if my store name is “XYZZ gifts” then can I put XYZZ in first name and Gifts as last name while opening my Etsy seller account?
@brenondopp
@brenondopp Жыл бұрын
Hi! That is a great question. When you're opening your shop and putting in your personal info, it’s best to use your legal name because it will be connected to your payment/billing info, etc. After you open your shop though, you don't need to include your name in your profile or shop members for the public to see. You can just include your shop name instead of your personal name. Here is a link with more info on this: etsy.me/3Fj3Qzc I see a lot of shops that use their shop name for their “Public Profile,” “Shop members,” etc. Here is an example of a shop that does this: www.etsy.com/shop/NicePeopleTees I hope this helps! @@brenondopp thanks Brenon! The Etsy website says you can’t change your username once you have created it and that your username is public information so May I know which username is Etsy talking about in this case that can never be changed?As in is it the store name they are talking about Or are they saying the first name and last name can’t be changed once created when opening the Etsy seller account?
@brenondopp
@brenondopp Жыл бұрын
You create your Etsy account with your email, use your legal name for your financial/tax info, and then you can change "Your Name" which appears on your public profile to whatever you want as many times as you want. This is the name that appears in the top right corner of your shop and so many shops just use their shop name instead of their personal name, or some just put their first name. I just tested it and I was able to change mine with no problems. I'm not sure what the username is that Etsy is saying you can't change, but I think it's just the automatically-generated string of random letters and numbers that appears in the URL of your profile page (etsy.com/people/[your username]), which I honestly don't think is a concern at all. Here's the article I read to get this info: help.etsy.com/hc/en-us/articles/115015653248-Your-Username I hope this helps!

Great question! Most shops who are selling shirts for that cheap are mostly likely doing one of these 3 things: 1. They are printing them themselves so they have better margins, but they have to do all the printing and shipping themselves. 2. They have an item that is cheaper in their selection (ie. a $7 kid's shirt) because Etsy will show the lowest price of the item selection. So if someone is selling an adult shirt for $22.99 and within the same listing has an option for a kid's shirt for $12.99, the price for the kid's shirt will be the main price that appears on the listing in search results. Some people will also use this tactic but mark the cheapest item out of stock so they won't have to to actually sell the item at that price point, but it will still show the lowest price option in search results. 3. They are pricing their item low but have a high shipping cost so that it appears cheap in search results. One tactic you can consider trying when first starting out is price your items lower so you break even or make a smaller profit on your first initial sales just to get the ball rolling. After you make a few sales and get reviews, you can then slowly start raising your prices. I also recommend telling friends and family outside of your home about your store. You would be surprised how supportive they will be. If they purchase from your store, make sure you ask them to leave kind reviews with nice pictures of the product. This is huge to build social proof in your shop and will help kickstart it! If you are using high-quality mockups, I would bet your problem is either not using proven SEO or not creating a design that someone wants (or a combination of both). Remember, success doesn’t come overnight, so stick with it and good things will happen as long as you continue to learn, improve, and implement! You could be just once design/listing away from your store taking off! People are definitely willing and happy to pay more for quality items and designs they love. I hope this helps! I wish you the best!

Hi Danielle! Welcome to the family! 😂 Congrats on your second organic sale! That is extremely exciting and many more to come as long as you stick with it! I’m sorry to hear your customer's father is on hospice. Unfortunately, there isn’t a great option for express shipping with Printify. They do offer it but it doesn’t make the production time any faster. However, SwiftPod’s current production times are averaging between 2-5 business days. I’ve had a lot of orders go out the next day with them over the past few days. As long as shipping goes smoothly, your customer should receive their package in a timely manner. I'm sorry I don't have a better answer for you! Another option would be to find a local printer in your area that could print it quickly and then express ship the item yourself. Best of luck!

@@brenondopp Hi Brenon, for mocks ups, do you think that the ones with models convert better? Or just the shirt without the model?
@brenondopp
@brenondopp Жыл бұрын
I think people who shop online like to be able to visualize what the actual product will look like them, so model mockups help a lot with that. With that being said though, there are a lot of listings that perform well with flat-lays and hanging mockups, so I think it can depend on the actual mockup. You want to use trendy, high-quality mockups that aren't overly distracting so that they highlight your product/design really well. Other things to look for in mockups are that they aren't overly edited so that the product color doesn't look like true-to-color or like the final product the customer will receive, that they don't have hair or other items in the way for quick mockup creation, and that they have minimal wrinkles so the design looks realistic when placed on it. I hope this helps!
