Great card, as always. I think what I like least about the craft industry is the constant influx of new products. I wish companies would do releases 4 times a year instead of every month. It’s just too much and by the time you actually get the things you ordered, they are on to the next release.

Hi Barb. I wanted to share some insight. I’ve worked for SU for 12 years as a demo. What we’ve come to realize is that if we only release 4 times a year as we did. People order things they want in the first month and then they don’t order anymore until months later. This isn’t a sustainable solution for business. So what I think has happened in the industry is people buy all or most of the things they want right away when a new release happens and then crickets. So businesses feed the consumer by always having new stuff to order. Does that make sense? ❤ Hope that helps with the why. Not saying it’s right just saying it’s what has happened.

I agree. One of my kits took 3.5 weeks to arrive and I live in the US! By the time I got it, there was no time to make anything for that holiday. I am not doing those again.

I appreciate the tips on using Copic with Distress ink and water. And to speak to how I feel about new releases/retiring craft supplies: I really dislike how often new things are released. It creates so much waste in the environment, clutters our homes, and wastes so much time with the maker making the item, us buying it, it being shipped, swatch the item, store the item, maybe use the item 😅, and then shuffle it around until it’s been used up or we don’t want it, and then it’s out the door to one place or other (or just cluttering our home). I am just not a fan of consumerism in general and all of my hobbies conflict with that BUT I use videos like this one not to inspire me to BUY something new but to inspire me to use a new TECHNIQUES! Thanks, Kelly, for sharing all of your inspiration, techniques, and stories ❤ When I do buy from your affiliates, I do use your links though!

Hello Kelly - so I have a few comments here we go: 1. I have been following you for a good bit of time, sometime up front (as in now) and other times in the background. 2. I have never viewed you wedding photos until yesterday (1.17.23) - thank you so very much! What a sweet wedding you and Eric had, all of the family photos and love that simply jumps out of the video is heartwarming and well just super! Thank you for allowing me (and others) to share a tiny bit of your wedding day. 3. Your stories I crave them, perhaps because I too am a story teller, ever created a child's story book about a little girl who is a below the knee amputee. Why - because there simply are not enough books that allow children (adults) to learn how wonderful it is being an amputee (I am bilateral lower limb) and that there is NOTHING a child with a disability cannot do - they just might do it differently. 4. Your art and cards have taught me so much and given me the ability to expand my own artist talents. AND 5. No not before not now and probably not ever do I think that you (or the countless other card/craft) artists that I personally follow I am being underhanded coerced to buy any product. I buy what I like/want and I LOVE (oh bad pun since you are making a LOVE card) the introduction to new things, how else would I be truly tell do I want it, can I use it, and what other ways can "it" be used. My hat is off to you and all of your family....go get 'em Kelly you are grand.

@@KellyTaylorCards 💋🦿🦿- Just in case you do not know - I am a left below the knee amputee (9/11/02 - yup that is correct and there is heck of a story behind that date) and previously a right below the knee until 11/25.22 - I became a right knee disarticulation amputee - soon I will be up on 2 legs one sporting a computerized knee. Plan to be back on the 5K course by mid to late spring!!! - slow but on the course. Oh - and I am 73 and God has me right where I should be! You too!

I wanted to share that I purchased gently used Copic markers on ebay. Along with my purchase was a card the seller's mother had made with the markers and a message that sadly said she had passed away, but that she was happy that they were going to someone who would use them. ❤️ I think you'll love Copic markers because they really are a quality product.
