I usually want the 'best man to win' but when they created the 'AJ Show', talked as if he was the champion and DDD the challenger, when AJ came out last (which is usually the champ) and then they rigged that canned chant from Neil Diamond into 'Ohhh Anthony Joshuaaaa' I felt all the rage Dubois seemed to be experiencing too. (in fairness, AJ himself probably has nothing to do with that) but man it made the ensuing beating all the more satisfying.

It's such a weird observation to make. Yes indeed, punches, clean hard shots will 'weaken' opponents. good observation. I mean I suppose he was recovering but then the next ramrod jab took away 'recovery' and so did the next stunning right hand. So do the ones he blocked, also the body shot and then all the next punches after punches. It's really saying 'nothing' to say 'he was weakened by the first clean punch'. Okay, well yes that is ALL boxing all the time.

It's not a 'mistake' rather he is rightfully protecting his body from Dubois' brutal bodyshots (AJ doesn't take them well) and then trying to 'up-punch' shots from there. It's a legitimately good choice to make. There isn't a choice of 'both' but he went with that and DDD landed shockingly FEW bodyshots. up-shots were getting there too.

So have we established then that Ben Davison is an absolute bang average trainer who has got to where he is through simply knowing the right people?! 😂 I know it's not in this video, but there's a clip of Shane McGuigan on the radio between the fourth and fifth, absolutely dismantling some of Davison's advice to AJ. AJ's hands were low all fight and he was so easy to hit. Surely Davison has to cop some of the flak for that given he's his trainer and would've played a huge part in the tactics for the fight?!
