Hi Barry. Rob from Adelaide here. Soooo close mate. Great effort. As far as your safety bars go....look at drilling some new holes above the number one and aline it so it suits your incline. Abit of engineering project for you. Great stuff mate.

Barry the safety aspect got into your head,think you lost it before you went for it mentally, good effort, no doubt you'll get it,infact if you had a spotter you would of smashed it now,keep at it ,don't get deflated m8 👍ps not sure this works for everyone, but deadlifting before I bench increases my strength dramatically, keep er lit..

I would not call that rubbish. I think that fail was psychological and not physical. You rushed the chest touch on the way down and you were never entirely committed. I think get comfy with the 135 for a bit and then you have 140 in the bag. Well done and no shame in not getting that beast up for now!

If you had been doing some slow reps at a lighter weight that would have gone up. Doing a rep taking thirty seconds activates the muscles that you need when you are struggling. Not from me, from Kirill Sarychev you understand.

I'm disappointed for you, mate. I've noticed that your lockout is really strong on the flat bench, and you seem to be able to keep squeaking them out when most others would be done, which is down to pure tricep strength. What I noticed was that your 140 looked to be much higher up your chest than the 100s you did after. I think you just lost tightness in your lats because you were out of position and instinctively reverted to what works for you on the flat, causing you to flare too early. impressive effort, though, and I've every confidence you'll get it next time.👍🏻

Next time. Watched several times, look at your elbows shifting back disrupting your drive. This won't matter soon, your neural drive & 1% more strength will tip ya over - not long now😊
