PROTEST IS NOT A CRIME
The lead up to the World Cup has prompted large scale demonstrations and public protests to which the police have responded with use of force, and in some cases "less lethal" weapons such as tear gas and rubber bullets.
Protests are likely to continue in coming weeks and the Brazilian Congress is considering new laws that could be used to crack down on protesters. Additionally, inadequate regulations and training for policing demonstrations pose a risk of more injuries to protesters due to excessive use of force by police.
Everyone has the right to peaceful protest -- to exercise their human rights to freedom of expression and peaceful assembly - and the Brazilian Government has a duty to ensure that they can. That's why we are giving the Brazilian Government a yellow card!
Together we can use our freedom of expression to send them a warning.

So the world actually does know Brazil exists. For a moment I thought we were alone in this fight. That actually makes me feel a lot better. Unfortunately this video doesn't have nearly as many views as it deserves.

brasil is such a shit country, tho, the protests here normally end up with burnt cars, and broken public things, like bus stops and such things, i don't really agree with the way the government is working, or even the way the cops are "aswering" but well, the protestants aren't actually right either... this said, well, everything is wrong in brasil anyways haha
@daniel2B
@daniel2B 10 жыл бұрын
Well, if you think brazil is shit country, go live somewhere else. And yeah, things that costs money to people who have money are actually more important for you than people's lives, and the fight to make it better. You probably felt bad when they stole the dummy from Toulon, but didn't feel bad when the government fired poor people out of their homes to build structure for the world cup. And probably never felt bad about police breaking into poor people's homes in an entire area without a warrant. With no one to protect them if the policeman would want to steal a tv or rape somebody's daughter or wife. You probably never cared when they removed the indians home and museum from Aldeia Maracanã to build a parking lot, but cares about a bank being destroyed. And by the way, I have never seen a revolution without burning down the old structure. If you studied a little bit of history you would know that.

@VicktorioLopez 10 жыл бұрын
well, i WILL live somewhere else, as soon as i finish college, and its not about the things that cost money, is about burning a car that is from a family that theres nothing to do with neither the protest nor the cops, also, as i said, i'm not defending the government's side, you duffus, i'm saying there are drawbacks on each side, can't you read? plus, have the cops killed some protestant?? i don't think so, hurt, yes, tho, both sides were injured bad, on that "20 cents" protest you had, specially the cops, right?? also, they are following orders, from a 'greater" "leader", its not like its a choice, or they do something about it, or they loose their jobs, get your shit together man, omg
@VicktorioLopez
@VicktorioLopez 10 жыл бұрын
and, mate, i'm mostly say br is shitty, because of them using our money to build statiums, instead of roads, schools and hospitals, i don't give a flying fuck about the world cup, plus, yeah, that part you're right, i didn't study history, the protestants are as dangerous as the cops, who have to be there, in order to follow the orders, so they can keep their jobs, feeding their families, its not like they are satisfied with the government and such, but because they HAVE do, about all the money things, well, i'm not poor, i'm not rich, therefore, this ain't a question about "not caring for the poors", yes i can't remember when was the last time i've been into a public hospital, but that doesn't change the fact that i fucking hate dilma and the whole PT because they don't give a damm about the health care in our country, i've never studied at a public school, but that doesnt mean i like what they are doing, not investing on them, i actually hate this even more, because without a proper education, all the people will be fucking dumasses, and won't recognize wtf the government is doing for this so awesome land we've got, brasil has such an awesome landscape, lots of things in it, but the government doesn't know/doesn't want to invest into it, only care about their money and such thing, the world cup SHOULDN'T happen here, we shouldn't have this "pleasure", because the governants don't know what is priority for us, and what isn't...
@daniel2B
@daniel2B 10 жыл бұрын
Man, what you forget is that it is not our governmet that is greedy... yes it is, but it's not only that. The government is there because somebody want them to be there, and who wants it to be there? The same people that wanted other governments before PT. Look at all the companies, all the enterprizes, all the rich businessman around Brazil, do they follow the rules? Most companies work regard of laboral laws, sanitary conditions, etc. Most businesman speculates on the market on an illegal way. Most landlords threaten local communities so they can get their land. Would these people (that have been here for generations) want a government that is not corrupt? No lets get further, would they want a Police that is not corrupt? Because a corrupt police does dirty work for them, beats on poor, hides bodies, fights popular riots with ilegal violence, and than, if the police was not corrupted, what would we have? Police kicking the door on Vieira Souto (the most expesive place to live on Rio de Janeiro) to fight trafic. But they want that? No, they want a police that would only do that to the poor. But than when you go on full hate against PT, that can't be undertood... because you have to hate the whole thing, and not only PT! You will get rid of PT and than put something exactly like, just a little bit more elitist. And those problems Brazil have is not just our own, all around the world people indentify with us. We are all the same, we all face the same problems, you can see riots go all around the world, even on the rich contries. And if our problem is worse than it is in United States, it's because we have been treated like colonies until now. Difference is, while people in spanish america are proud of their origin and united in their fight for independence, people in Brazil wished to be european, say they hate brazil, and see their dominators and opressors (United States, European countries) as GODS.
