Acne is a perfectly normal part of being a human. It’s not a reflection of diet, health, hygiene or morals. Nobody should feel the need to apologize for their natural skin, regardless of its “clarity.”

Kelly Scott Your comment needs to get pinned. More people need to understand that having pimples doesn’t necessarily mean they’re doing, or eating, something wrong. So many people have made it a habit to shame the diets and hygienic habits of complete strangers, when they have acne. Genetics play a huge role.

I developed cystic acne two years ago (I am 24) and it is damn near debilitating. I constantly get asked questions about how often I wash my face or what kind of food I eat and if I ever wash my sheets. Like yeah I went 22 years being cleanly and taking care of myself and then I said fuck it and now I have acne. Makes perfect sense 🙄 people are so dense.

I second the recommendation of eye primer. I'm super pale so the regular tinted primer from ELF works well for me. And/or a light dusting of powder foundation where you need it, which is way easier to touch up than liquid or cream foundation.

@@kexyglamrock1498 I'm so sorry about your father, however, a bit of advice. Please don't tell someone who is suffering from a condition about someone else who died from said condition. When I was diagnosed with cancer I cannot tell you how many people felt the need to tell me about people they knew who died from cancer. While you may mean well, it feels extremely shitty for the person suffering with the condition. And whether or not someone's intentions are good is irrelevant in the end. Because you can still make someone feel awfully frightened (by mentioning deaths caused their illness) with the best of intentions.

Eli Burns Same as far as the ashiness goes. Last year a makeup artist told me to go a shade darker with the foundation. Which definitely looked better on my face but my neck is already so much lighter than my face that that looked worse. So now I mix two shade and try to blend as much as possible. If I didn’t have acne I’d just skip it altogether like you. 😔

Hi Taylor!!! I’m always so happy when I watch videos of you with out makeup on and how beautiful your skin looks. Even though we can’t see the scarring you talk about in your videos I think I remember you saying that you might do some type of treatment in the future for any residual scarring that was left after you had finished accutane. I HIGHLY recommend getting microneedling I’ve had 3 treatments and it definitely helped smooth my skin texture I really love it & if you’re still looking into what treatment to do for scarring definitely look into doing microneedling with PRP (platelet rich plasma) they draw your blood and put it in a centrifuge to separate the plasma and red blood cells they extract the plasma and when they’re doing the microneedling they use that as the serum and it helps to heal the skin faster from the trauma being performed and promotes the collagen and healing process to renew the skins surface...it’s seriously amazing!

I used to wear heavy full coverage foundation and concealer, even if just for a 50 minute class. Lately I’ve been using light-to-medium coverage foundations instead of my more full coverage ones, and although during the day they fade and leave my skin mostly exposed, I’m slowly starting to feel more comfortable about my hyperpigmentation. I have an acne story too (that's how I discovered your channel! I was searching for good foundations to use) And as I've been working with a dermatologist to manage my acne I continue to learn from your journey. You have helped me so much from the products you recommend and also just by being so relatable and sharing a positive attitude and confidence. Thank you! xo

I’ve been wanting to go without foundation more recently but still want to use bronzer blush highlight. I wasn’t sure how well it would sit on top of my skin! I love that you did this video, perfect timing for me! I’m going to try some of these techniques. ❤️
