Ohhh I love baked better than fried! But this doesnt even need to be baked- what else could I possibly ask? I have never tried fried ice cream because I was kind of afraid to work with hot oil- but this just looks so simple and great! Once again, you did it Gemma! I am a huge fan of your two-ingrediente ice cream, I have made it lots of times ever since my family first tried it! So this is definitely a recipe I will HAVE to try. Lots of love! Gemma, that looks SO DELICIOUS!!! There used to be a Mexican restaurant in our city that made fried ice cream! When you said that in making this dessert you could taste the fried ice cream you'd had before, I felt like that too!!!! It is so good & yummy, & I could go on & on. There is a savory recipe i make that I switched from Corn Flakes to Corn Chex because we have a family member who follows a gluten free diet. I was quite surprised at how much crunchier the Corn Chex are. And just like in this recipe they get ground up & mixed with melted butter. Your Fried Ice Cream recipe is going on my to make list & what I'm really excited about is I think the grandkids would love to help! I can just picture all of them rolling the ice cream scoops in that delicious crust!! I think the hardest part for them will be the waiting for it to be ready!! Thanks for another awesome recipe!!

Oh my gosh, I haven't had fried ice cream in ages! There used to be Chi Chi's Mexican restaurants back in the day and when they were feeling festive, they would sometimes serve it with the song from their commercial "fri-yai yai yaid...ice yai yai ice cream." Don't ask. LOL This recipe just gave me an excuse to buy those Cinnamon Frosted Flakes we tried a month ago! WOO HOO!

The only issue I have with this is that one of the greatest hings about fried ice cream is the temperature difference. The fried, crispy, sugary, still-warm, outside crust with the cold, creamy, frozen-y ice cream in the middle. This is a very creative recipe, and I like that you make things easier (more simple) for the home cook. But, I don't think it would be even remotely the same. :)
