@KetansaCreatesArt4 жыл бұрын
True, Its Lithium. Plus point is light weight and high capacity against small size. But, Powering household items means no need of portability. I went to the website. Its not just the high prices. There is a ton of dark side than expected. How they smartly exploit the english language is also true. 1) First all they talk about green energy, and solar panels solar panels solar panels. 2) Then they are offering combo packages of 2, 3, 4 solar panels with the unit. 3) Then below they say it charges from 0 to 80% in one hour. 4) Bring DELTA to any party or into your living room and power up to 13 devices simultaneously (find the truth below in 7 & 8). 5) Then scrolling down, they reveal that 100% full charge in less than 2 hours, only if you charge through home AC outlet. 6) Here comes the smart line- "Charge time is dependent on the size of the solar panel. Fully recharge DELTA within 4 hours". Means using a largest combo they offered above, which is 4 (or more) solar panels at a time, will charge the unit in 4 hours. 6) Plugging into vehicle car port, while running the vehicle, it takes 18 hours to charge. 7) Now they mention usage of bunch of appliances, about how much time will they run on its backup. You still think "oh so many appliances run for so many hours". But no. 8) Scrolling down it says- "1500W Electric fry pan will run for 0.6 to 1.2 hour". You see? More things are revealing. Its only the estimate of single appliance plugged on the unit at a time. Imagine, the backup of 13 different appliances plugged in together? not even 5 minutes and the whole unit will drain to 0%. Now scrolling down the page, comes more dark truth- "The charging time is weather dependent" . DELTA 1300 takes 15-30 hours. I dug so deep into their strategy... I must be a bad guy on the radar now😁😁😁

@@pamelavandelden6400 If your planning on using this idea for your van you need to first consider a few details nobody has mentioned. Car battery or deep cycle or lead acid batteries have a much lower deepth of discharge rating meaning whatever the Ah amp hour rating is you can only go 50% before you start to damage the integrity of any lead acid chemistry battery. While lithium you get the entire Ah rating. I have a 200ah lithium iron phosphate battery and i can run our tiny home off of it for about 3 days without sunligh or very little. Now i have a pretty frugal load at less than 25amp at 12v but i also have 10 100 watt solar panels. So im getting nearly 6x the power out put at 1/8 the weight and 1/4 the size of the system this gentlemen has described. Not to mention when charging lead acid batteries they off gas hydrogen which is very dangerous in confined spaces because not only is it explosive but its an oxygen displacer or asphyxiant gas meaning it can suffocate you or fill you van with hydrogen and possibly explode or start a fire. Whereas lithium iron phosphate batteries IF you can even get them to explode all they do is puff up and release water vapor. Now they are about double to triple the cost bit in my point of view $725 for a 200ah battery is well worth it once you see all the different advantages. Dont get one of these "generators" just get a big lithium battery and a inverter/ charger and you can even hook it into the charging system of your van. Ok ive rambled at you and everyone long enough. Any questions please ask i enjoy helping out.

I needed a unit kzbin.infoUgkxOTeIs0vv4_9B5hsmnLsk9r930uDQLu_Y that I could store in my home when I wasn't running, so it being light and running on propane were key requirements. I can store the propane tank/bottle outside yet store the generator in my home when it's not in use as I will never put any gas in the engine. It is so light, and on echo mode, which I expect is how it will be used most of the time, it is pretty darned quiet (certainly compared to all the generators I hear in my neighborhood after each power outage).Many of the previous reviews had me concerned that it would be difficult to start on propane, but I have to say, I had absolutely no problem at all. I primed it first using the choke...3 pulls, heard the engine want to start, flipped it to propane, and one more pull and she started. I ran it for 2 hours the first time and plugged it in my fridge. And when I was done, I put the propane tank away and carried the generator to my basement for next time.I could not be happier.

These things are just a portable version of something you can do with components in a static location. So they are a bit over marketed. Having said that, they are marvelous self-contained complete systems with an amazing amount of features. One of which, that doesn't get mentioned enough, is the power input monitor, which allows calculations and aiming of panels... along with ongoing monitoring and adjustments. They are truly amazing little systems. I got one of the 208 Honda/Jackery models and have done a lot of experimentation with it for application possibilities (electrical design engineer). I'm looking at larger capacity models at this point but the market has blown up so much, I'm having a difficult time making up my mind. Great video and information. You have one of the best ones there. I don't know why these portable power supplies got called "generators" which is confusing. They are actually "accumulators". A big lithium battery with a charge controller, inverter, and 3 charging methods. Add solar panels and you have free electricity. Yet, I didn't like the display on the Delta. I thought it could better display the information, so I went with the Rockpals. It has my favorite power management display. For camping, fishing trips, household use, and power outages I would recommend at least a 500 watt unit and solar panels. I think EcoFlow has an even bigger one than the Delta. Make sure your unit has pass through charging so it can bypass the inverter and charge your battery while it's running your connected devices. Very inconvenient to have to shut everything off and wait for charging!

I think the stand-out feature of this device is the fast charging of 1.7 hours to full on AC (or 1 hour to 80%). That would make it a very useful device to keep at home in a grid-down situation, especially if grid power was being rationed to only a few hours a day for some reason. 2 hours of grid power and you're back up to fully charged with, potentially, 20+ hours of refrigeration available. Also good for vehicle-based off-grid camping. Plug it in to a wall outlet when you stop at a diner, etc for lunch and you've got power for all the gadgets for the coming evening. I also like how it is self-contained, with no external chargers, etc. Easy to carry about, store, reply quickly, etc. For an off-grid cabin though I'd probably go for a less portable, cheaper solution based on solar panels, lead-acid batteries and a simple charge controller. Sometimes we can over-complicate these power solutions. We have some woodland with a working cabin that we'll typically drive to and spend a day in. It has 12V LED lighting and is wired with 12V sockets for laptop charger, etc. We just have two 70Ah 12V batteries; one in the cabin and the other on charge from AC at home. When we go to the cabin we just swap them over.

This is simply a small solar charge converter that controls DC solar power when charging your 12V DC batteries. It's a handy device, but the battery is not generating power. It's simply storing the solar power, then sending it out when needed. Generators do not take any time to charge because they aren't charged. They instead generate the power as soon as they are turned on; it's as if they are the sun or a power plant. Generators then send power to battery chargers that charge your batteries in order to power your DC needs, or through an inverter, supplies ac power to your appliances. It's totally different from what you have here.

Sheeeeze! All these comments back and forth about it not being a "generator". In reality, it's an energy storage device in one sense and a generator in another. Yes, it has a battery in it, but it also has a built in charge controller and inverter for taking the varied electrical output from a solar PV panel and using it to charge the battery. By definition a "generator" is simply a device that converts one type of energy to another (for example: a conventional gasoline powered generator - an alternator mechanically connected to an internal combustion engine that converts chemical energy (gasoline) to mechanical energy (rotating shaft) and ultimately to usable electrical energy (spinning alternator)). Granted, that all happens with a lot of the chemical energy being lost to heat (efficiency), but for portable power there's no other device that's been created so far that does this as cheaply as the internal combustion engine. The device featured in this video generates and stores electricity by completing the process of converting light energy to usable electricity. Try using the output from a solar PV panel directly, and then let me know how well it works (hint: it won't without the charge controller and inverter). The point everyone is missing here is that with a full charge and at its full output (15 amps at 120V - assumes a power factor of 1.0), it will only power the load it serves for less than 45 minutes before it needs recharging (1300 Watt-hours / 1800 Watts = 0.72 hours). Don't be mislead by your lack of understanding of the math behind these devices. This has always been the myth of solar energy. Yes, sunlight is abundant and free; however, harnessing it and converting it to usable electricity is outrageously expensive. Ecoflow's website states a list price of $1,399.00 for the unit shown in this video. For slightly more than $1,000 you could buy a very nice Honda generator with twice the output capacity (2800 watts) that runs on gasoline, has a built-in inverter (for clean, consistent sine-wave voltage) and will run for over 4-hours on a single tank of fuel (at full output) at a cost of less than $6.00 per fueling.

I have a Yamaha that will run 16 hours on a gallon of gas.

1.2 KWh isn't much energy storage. That is maybe enough to run a small home for one hour. And that little solar panel it comes with will take 4 or 5 days to charge it

It seems to me that the whole setup with, solar panels could be called a generator, but the "NO FUEL " part??? The fuel for solar panels is sunlight. Off Grid Warrior, I like your friendly delivery, can't say the same for your wording on this presentation. Good luck with your channel.

On solar panels, any shading from a wire, tree brach, corner in the snow ect. Will drastically cut the power output of the panels.

Great review! it's a very interesting product, I've watched quite a few other youtubers are also reviewing it lately, and You're the first one actually using it in the snowy weather and cloudy days, I wish you can do another 30 days review? or 60 days review ? after you actually use it everyday for a while? You did not use with some larger kitchen appliances, probably because no such powerful and relatively inexpensive battery power stations existed before? and I did see others are using it with coffee makers / small micro-wave / insta pot or induction top cooking; it's really amazing, and this might be the first product that enables you can buy some larger kitchen appliances since now on? So how is the panel showing does it charge or not under the cloudy days? may have a small charging current? hopefully not 0 charging under the cloudy days? and you mentioned no noise, that's true if comparing with gas generators, but I've heard from a few other youtubers video there are some low noises, so how would you say what's the noise level when being fast charged from main AC 110V ? Do you think possible to bring it into a Starbucks or similar coffee shop to enjoy a $5 coffee and charge this together staying one or two hours? I meant to put in a roller suitcase and bring to a coffee shop charge it in a stealth way

How long will the battery last? Or how long will it maintain its function?
@Trillville434 жыл бұрын
Depends on the power consumption of the devices you use
@josephdewuhan4 жыл бұрын
@@Trillville43 Thanks for your prompt replay. I guess I did not ask the question properly and you misunderstood me. I was trying to ask what is the life span of the product? I have had computer emergency power (when power outage occurs it will supply 30 min power to the computer), the battery inside the box does not last enough life time. One needs to replace the battery in a few years. This would be expensive for a product that costs a couple of thousand dollars.
@tomasc79994 жыл бұрын
@@josephdewuhan you meant to use it as UPS power? better to measure your computer with a watt meter, and do math:: for example, my workstation computer is 400w, so this 1260 watt-hour could last it for (1260/400) = 3 hours

Yo, Off Grid “Warrior” it is NOT a “generator”. And even the solar part, it does not “generate” solar either. Those are power storage (essentially a battery with an inverter”. Get your facts straight.

You need an AC source to charge this unit in the under 2 hour charge rate stated at the beginning of the video. So where is the silent generator that will provide this? As an electrical engineer I was taught that an amp is an amp is an amp. All of this is governed by electrical laws. This is pure BS.

Your mostly right except an amp isn't amp, 1A @ 1v is basically nothing 1A @ 11,000v is instant death however a watt is constant 1000watts is always 1000watts regardless of what combination of voltage and amperage you use

I also hate that they are calling these generators. They generate nothing. They store and provide power the same as a UPS. Also, concerned about charging a lithium battery in extreme cold. Even cordless power tool chargers won't allow charging until the batteries are sufficiently warmed. This would be great for working with power tools if it can store enough energy for a day of work. When running power tools off a gas/diesel generator, I like to have the generator 50 to 100 feet away from where I'm working because of the noise (the tools are noisy enough)....not a problem with this unit. I do like the six 120 VAC receptacles, which would allow you to plug in a variety of tools, even though you actually only use one tool at a time, it's nice to have them all plugged into power so your not constantly swapping plugs.
@bwindustrialelectrical43324 жыл бұрын
UPS doesn't have DC input and voltage regulation for charging efficiently with a solar panel? Also UPS is designed as its name suggests, an Un-Interrupted Power Supply. It isn't an on demand power supply, like a generation device. Inverter electronics generate a 110VAC sine-wave from DC storage when a load demands it.

I'm concerned about the ac plugs. No third grounding prong. How would it power a window air conditioner? They always are 3 prong... I suppose you could remove the third prong or maybe that's what the seemingly empty holes are for but if they're not actually being used it defeats the propose of that safety feature.
