When gas does come in again, I would suggest getting a fuel tank up at the farm. Many do here in the US, and keep it filled, consider your trips carefully etc., It might not be an investment you can do, but it is a suggestion. Also, if you have diesel, you could consider doing bio fuel. Our past neighbors made their own bio diesel, and we ran our VW on it from time to time in exchange for some work:)

I'm a motor head at heart. Idk if you guys know how to make alcohol, but you seem extremely handy around the house and such so here is a bit of advice, if you have a carburetor driven generator/motorcycle/car/truck/tractor. A gasoline engine will run on alcohol or alcohol mix (you can mix alcohol in to stretch the gas out further if you set yourself a formula and stick to it). You'll need richer carburetor jets, or to richen your mixture via the carburetor. Idle mixture adjusting screw should cover you. You'll need to make up your mixture and then start the engine up and then fine tune it richer to run more smoothly on the new mixture. But yes it's absolutely true. Then you can cover your own fuel needs so long as you have fruits to ferment and time. Not a bad idea to fire up and get going while you can. God bless you guys.

I absolutely love that Kaylee is still breastfeeding naturally. Too many new Moms have been convinced it’s easier to pump and feed your baby from a bottle. I am not saying that’s not beneficial to the mom and baby, because it is; I am saying that it makes an awful lot of work and you don’t get the same bonding you do by actually nursing. Personally I nursed all 3 of my children and I can’t imagine doing it any other way. It was so easy. Milk was always ready and the right temperature, there weren’t bottles to wash and prepare, and in the middle of the night I could lay the baby next to me and doze while the baby nursed.

When you're old as I am, you're going to remember days like this one, and be amazed at life at your age. I said, recently to a younger friend, 'I remember when I was only 62, I walked up Mt. Snowdon', [N. Wales]. 19 yrs. ago.

Make your own alcohol! It works on gas engines. If you have a deizel use used cooking oil with 2 filters and a heater.

Hi Guys, I was born in Panama. Raised in Ma. and live a few minutes from Vt. And my daughter's name is Sadie and she is now 32 years old. Small world. I admire your family and yearn to go back home one day. Thanks for sharing. 😀💌

When gas got too expensive We did everything by bicycle, so we took a metal cage over our basket in the back to lock up groceries , for we did a multishop approach. The Best part biking with a baby is we attached a baby seat that can be attached to a table just by baby's weight. We got that in the trash of all places. Creativity works when times get hard. Save your video SO YOU ALL CAN LAUGH LATER, I wished we had the ability to film our moments back to show our grown son That LIFE IS FUN . The slow MO was perfect. Thank you for sharing your walk.

When I lived there, I used my motorcycle when things got tough. Me, the wife, our nine month old, and our groceries on an old pizza bike. I’m not sure if they even have pizza bikes there anymore, basically a 125cc with an insulated box on the back.

Making lemonade from lemons...even the jeep! That describes how to live off grid and really is the proper attitude in all walks of life. Good job!

Yet another happy video. with all the things you have going on it's lovely to watch you both laugh your way through them, and Adie was doing a great job of holding the umbrella and keeping you dry. Stay Safe, Hugs UK

Oh and plant nut trees takes few years then can harvest. U can go without shampoo also. Your hair adjusts after a while. Watch homesteading with Doug and Stacy on storage and composted toilet etc. God bless

No one told you, if you drive a Jeep, your second vehicle needs to be a tow truck? We learned the hard way too!!

This situation calls for an ebike. I don't know how steep the road is going up since cameras always seem to flatten hills, but as a casual rider having the assist from the motor makes hills much easier. I can charge with a small solar generator and folding solar panels. About 18 years ago my car died and I walked the one mile from my apartment to the grocery store and back one time. After that I used my bike with a backpack until I discovered that they would deliver, so I just went to get produce on the bike until I got a new car. I know you will need the truck for construction stuff, but an electric scooter, or ebike would help out saving on gas if there is a shortage or price spike again

Mom is truly bad ass and I don’t often use that term. Your combined upbeat sense of humor and gratitude is infectious thus I’m a regular and thanks for bringing us along. Go Sadie girl.
