Love Nicky. Gotta be tough being Craig Jones little bro. If it doesn’t work out with bjj he could always work for the highway patrol with a stache like that

Question - while u work on the elbows and having the loos cross face there is nothing to stop him to bridge strong to him left shoulder and swipe you and ur right hand can’t post. I would event hood the cross face stronger on so the top Giu can’t get it out to post . How to you deal with that ?

For the mounted triangle, when you go to lock up your figure 4, should your hand always stay on your opponent’s head or is it ok to grip your own shin?

“stop sucking under the mount” - Craig Jones
@WeHoBo
@WeHoBo 14 күн бұрын
For me, a more important point of why my mount sucks is to be aware of the escapes and reversals that present themselves as I go to do these techniques. For instance, if my weight is back to shut down kipping and I begin working on an elbow lever to elevate the bottom person's arm, I'm temporarily vulnerable to being rolled. Most of the time I'm aware enough to post out when they try, but in that process I have to reset that arm elevation battle. Same thing as when I go to cross face or post next to his head to prevent the knee elbow shrimp, there is a moment where my weight is forward and my hand/elbow is trapped and primed for a roll , and when he tries it I have to post and abandon. I suck and I'm a white belt, but top mount for me feels much more of an unstable rodeo due to the above, and makes it even more difficult to choose between positional maintenance and going for a submission. Whenever I have an chance to choose I always choose kuzure-kesa with a low head, twister side, or north south. I would LOVE a technique / tutorial video about how to mount more stably while trying to elevate the arm to avoid the aforementioned resetting my progress to post to stop a roll.

youre literally so wrong this is the best position in jiu jitsu to maintain control and go for submissions , thats why craig makes instructionals for full mount and not side control, side control barely works to hold people down during attacks, this is all from the mouth of craig jones himself. gordon ryan and everyone whos good at passing funnels it into full mount for a reason, you said it yourself youre a white belt youre just not using full mount correctly if youre able to be swept like that its because youre attacking wrong and have your weight too far forward and you shouldnt be posting too too much only when needed(you should post your hands but in no way should this be against you this is literally one of the easiest positions to stay in and if youre getting swept during posting youre doing something very wrong) next to peoples head where they can do anything in mount it should be posting just enough to stay on top and flatten them back out and if youre just giving people room to espace while you post thats bad, the main things you need to do is keep their back to the mat with your chest to their shoulder when they try to get on their side . like bruh dont waste time crossfacing in full mount thats for half guard passing pressure mainly, just go subscribe to sub meta and watch a full mount instructional bruh this video definitely doenst have those details lachlan giles has in there. theres very very important things he shows and after watching that my full mount leveled up to another game, now im able to hold down tired heavyweights(im 175) in full mount and they cant get out(if not above blue). but fr tho if youre losing full mount often while going for attacks youre doing something wrong. it is the very very best mount for attempting attacks, i mess up attacks from full mount and maintain it all the time and sometimes when they roll over they give their back but i usually let them roll themselves back into full mount while i attack rnc because my fav and best subs are triangle and armbar from mount
