Hi There. I use the same setup. I bought a secondhand (as new) Lindr AS80 to cool my 14 Gallon ss brewtech BME. This works brilliantly. I as well use it for cold crashing. Just turn down the temperature to ice bank and turn the temperature of the fermenter down. It cools my fermenter from 22 degrees C to 4 degrees C, using normale tap water, in 2 hours in my garage were it is currently 28 degrees C.

I have a beer shelf cooler to do the same job, came from a bar cost was about 40 euro, i fitted an stc1000 type controller to it, so i can`t see why the linde wont work, cheers glenn

glen i have a countertop icemaker and I was planning to do the same. Bascially just let it keep making ice like normal but pump the water through the fermenter coils and spray it back on top of ice resoviour

Hi there, thank you for the video. Can you please tell us where exactly you purchased it?

Just at marktplaats, a place like craigslist and eBay. From another guy 😋

I'll be heading to the east of the Netherlands for a Stay-cation soon, Could be interesting to drop by, are you anywhere on the route from Castricum to Markelo ?

Nice. I'm using a really cheap ice cube maker to achieve the same result.

Are you adding any bio-cide to the water to inhibit growth?
@homebeerbrewery3 жыл бұрын
For the time being I just add a little Starsan or saniclean solution. Cheers

I heard there is a temperature sensor which you can pull out so it measures the "air" in your room. This means the cooler will non-stop cooling. Then you plug the chiller to a Inkbird, which you can set at cooling temperature and also at 0° or may even minus degrees. You only need to blend the water with glycol so it don't freeze at 0°. This is my plan for my setup, i just hope this story with the sensor is true :)

Sounds like a working setup! Thanks for the information! Cheers 🍻

I pulled the entire temp sensor panel out of my 5000 btu ac and wired straight into inkbird 2000 ac controller. Instead of adding glycol I added an aquarium wave maker to keep water circulated. I have been able to get down to about -8Deg C without freezing .... with glycol and aerator I can get to -17C

Dumb question: couldn't one just run a glycol solution in that setup at a higher cooling level if desired? Great video BTW, subbed.
@homebeerbrewery3 ай бұрын
I really don’t know if it’s possible to add glycol. Lindr does have the same product but called glycol version. Maybe there is a difference for sure! This works perfect for me 👌🏼 Thanks for the sub! Cheers 🍻

@homebeerbrewery3 жыл бұрын
Yes that's correct! A 7 gallon brew bucket and a 17 gallon conical fermenter.

Hi! Kan je mij vertellen welk type kraan je op je spoelbak hebt zitten? is dit makkelijk te doen met de koppeling naar camlock?
@homebeerbrewery2 жыл бұрын

can you cold crash with that?

For sure!

I had a similar solution. in the beginning I used just for one Conical (64 liter) and it worked perfectly. Going further I added two more fermenters at the same time. I then built a simple insulated tank with approx. 100 liter water that were chilled by the lindr with a submursed chill coil. In that tank I had 3 seperat pumps controlled by one ITC device each. In this way the capacity performing cold crash increased significantly. In hot summer days I still got it down to 5 degrees, even two at the same time. So yes, this will work and you may expand it serve more than one conical.

A walk in fridge would be a better option if you want to cold crash a 50l fermenter , I brewed 60 l in my speidel 50, fermented in 3 20l spidel fermenters, then cold crashed after kegging in my kegerator, Ask yourself this how did our ancestors make great beers without cooling and carbon dioxide fiz;) Please brew an Ancient Egytian beer, that's where it all began :)
