My Thai wife and I will be moving to Thailand in 2023 so this very detailed information was extremely helpful. Thanks to you both! I'd just like to add that if you think the Thai visa process is complicated, it's much worse for westerners taking their Thai wives to their home countries in terms of the bureaucracy involved. The immigration officers don't just ask for photos, they will make surprise visits in person to your home, including a look into your bedroom.

Did your 1yr Marriage Visa require 90-day reporting through the year, or was it a one-stop visa with renewal every year?.. My Thai Wife and I have been looking into going the marriage visa route and we're still not too sure whether or not 90-day reporting will be required throughout the visa year..

Great info! Thanks for sharing your experience. After 2 NON OA extensions, I will embark on my first Non O marriage visa next month. One thing I want to share if the marriage was from outside Thailand, the marriage certificate has to be notarized by your home embassy (USA for me), translated to Thai, and registered with a certificate from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Once you have both documents, have to register them with your local amphur. I got this info from the FB Thai Visa Forum. Along with your info, I think I'm ready to face immigration. Wish me luck!

thank you for your video!!! can i have some question. i will marriage on this Febaury after i get certificate of marrige i can open bank acoount in thailand. and then i have to wait 1-2 more month for make Non o marige visa 90days for my husbrand. - and then 21 days before expiry 90days visa have to change for 1 year visa right? - bank statement last 6 month enough? - now my husband is 50 year old and he jobless can make 1 year visa?

Sorry for late reply, you probably got the visa by now. To answer your questions. 1.You can apply for Non-O visa based on marriage to a Thai national 15 days before visa expires. 2.Bank statement is required for at least 2 months (You can ask from the bank for more than 2 months) 3.Your husband can apply for retirement visa or Non-O based on marriage to a Thai national after you both are married. ^^

We have our original marriage certificate but you say we need to get a copy certified to take with us . Can we get this from any amphur office, or does it have to be at the one we got married at ?
