@throttlebottle59063 жыл бұрын
when you have plugged lines like that, try hitting them with leaf blower first, it may blow out whatever is in the pipe lol but I'd go look outside first from a distance, since I once seen a 30' run solid with active yellow jacket nest! that could have been a very bad day had I went fiddling and poking before looking!

Bird screen will create a no heat call generally up in my area of ohio. The moisture will cause the screen to freeze shut in super cold climates and block the vent LOL. Probably works fine down south. Now I have had them build the cage way out and around it and that sometimes works.

Nice job 👍 I have the Milwaukee light too , I agree the battery life isn't great but you gotta treat it as a quick usage light , not for a long job . You gotta give it to them though , for the size of it it's pretty bright and practical , but small size is gonna mean short battery life , the Bosch light has a more sizeable battery that's why it lasts longer . I also use both brands , but I gotta admit , when it comes to led lights , I think Milwaukee are the best on the market , especially since they're the only ones offering the yellowish light that doesn't blind you or wash out colours .

I was always taught to use a small brass brush on all flame sensors and metal ignitors.
@HVACRSurvival3 жыл бұрын
Brass is a soft metal, I like my small stainless brush because it doesn't leave any residue. Both are likely equal enough for a flane sensor cleaning 👍👍. There both better than sandpaper or the $ bill IMO
@ryanlockhart22553 жыл бұрын
I've used sand cloth on them for years and never had any problems. I dont know why people think it will mess them up lol but everyone has their way of doing things I guess 🤷♂️ but i don't think they used sandpaper on this one it looks like someone scraped it with a screwdriver or knife honestly.
@HVACRSurvival3 жыл бұрын
@@ryanlockhart2255 if it's sand paper that's practically wore out I don't see a huge issue with it, it's not my preferred method but I just find it's easier to have a fine stainless brush that I can use for more than just one thing and I know it doesn't leave deep grooves in the metal. Those grooves have a tendency to hold impurities that are floating through the air as they're baked onto the metal. That's just my experience; it also depends on what brand you work on. Lennox has always been good about not having flame sensors that glow red when they're in the flame path whereas other brands like Goodman, Bard or the lesser quality ones have a tendency to glow red and those are the ones that I've seen the most issues out of. As you've said to each their own. Thanks 4 your feedback 👍👍
@ryanlockhart22553 жыл бұрын

From my experience the actual amount the switch will see is sometimes 1.5-2.5 X the rating that's listed on the switch. Usually the switch closes at the rating that you see on the side but that has to be verified by the manufacturer.

How we use to do it in Michigan we 90 up from the wall went 2 -4 ft up and 90 out from the wall and 45 of the 90 with a screen mesh fitting they sold at our supply house built in for a nice snug fit and for intake 90 from the wall with mesh fitting always worked
@HVACRSurvival3 жыл бұрын
The nicest looking thing is a concentric kit. Now this screen that you put on it, was that on the air intake or the exhaust. I'm saying the problem lies when it's put on the exhaust.

flame sensed without valve energized, very likely condensate water in a connection at the passthrough connector or other location like board or flame rod has a conductive bug(not likely lol)

@@HVACRSurvival yeah, I caught that later on lol! plus the unit was inverted from normal, so no chance of that. Now with the blower/controls down below, when they leak and pool in the cabinet it floods the connector or bushing and runs down onto the control board. Cut that exhaust termination at a 45 degree angle. Birds won’t be able to land in there then.
@HVACRSurvival Жыл бұрын
I've never heard of that being the reasoning, I know the refinery uses that type of cut so it won't freeze over. But if that's true I'll continue doing what I've always done

God rest those birds . but seriously why didn't they put like a mesh with holes where nothing but aor can go through? Is that not recommended pr can we still do it
@HVACRSurvival3 жыл бұрын
Depending on where you live at, if it gets really really cold like down to the zero mark, the frost that comes from the exhaust can actually freeze over a cage made out of a rabbit wire. Now if you're in southern climates it's not a big deal. But a lot of them people use 80 percent furnaces down in the lower States if not just heatpumps.
