I am a Turkish citizen from Konya and the 16 year old boy Mr. Sebastian is refering to is a student of my father. That kid got sentenced for 2 years in prison. There is no mistake in the report. Our goverment is too hard to defend. Even for the most educated diplomats we have to offer.

Becoming a member of the EU is not in the interest of Turkey. Does anyone really think that the EU would allow Turkey, with a population of 80 million people, to become a member of the EU? One of Germany's biggest problem is the low fertility rates. Keep in mind that the bigger the population the more seats you get in the European parliament. If Turkey would become a member of the EU, Turkey would be the 2nd biggest country of the EU (Germany is 1st) which means that after Germany, Turkey would have the most seats in the European parliament due to Turkey's population. France currently is the 2nd biggest country of the EU. Germany momentarily has a population of 82 million (4 million of them are Turks) and I'm sure that it won't take too long before Turkey catches up to them. Therefore they would never allow Turkey to become a member. Accession of a candidate state must be approved unanimously by the Council of the EU, which consists of representatives from each member state, and ratified by all national parliaments. This gives each member state a veto over the process. So even if Turkey fulfills all of the eligibility criteria (it’s not even close), and even if for instance apart from France, all other member states favor accession (they don’t), then France would still be able to veto. Europeans have always and will always regard the Turks as enemies, the fact that the Turks are Muslim doesn't make them popular either. Not only is it impossible for the EU to accept us as a member, but becoming a member of the EU goes against our nature, we value our independence and handing over power to the EU would mean that we lose that independence. I don't truly believe that Erdogan ever had the intention for Turkey to join the EU. I think that Turkey should have good relations with Europe, but nothing more than that.

Dw News, you should distinguish that Turkish Diplomats don't belong to the governor party in Turkey. I am quietly shochked when the reporter/journalist said that "diplomat Selim's government". He is representing me, not the governor party of Turkey. He is my diplomat, not anyone else's. He works for the sake of Turkey, the state, not the government.

Poor Ambassador Yenel... Erdogan is much more brutal than, for instance Putin. You asked Ambassador Yenel to appear in your program. Poor guy had no chance or possibility to decline your offer. If he had said ''Sorry, thank you,'' he would have been immediately labelled as an official against Erdogan, not supporting his crazy policies and punished. Why don't you dare to interview Erdogan? Ask him for an interview. He will definetely say ''no way''. Then make his refusal public together with the burning and relevant questions that you planned to ask him. This would show how afraid he was of being exposed in his true self...

Turkey should stop barking the wrong tree cuz it can never be an EU member due to its Muslim roots.Should however try to form union with its fellows Muslim countries.Imagine with 30 Muslim countries having one language,one religion,one culture ,oil and gas,if they could unite,even the EU and the US would want to join the MU ( Muslim Union) I have a dream though!! But the MU would not accept the applications from the EU & US to join the MU till they clearly demonstrate that they are Muslims enough!
