No I don’t think that’s what she meant. To me it feel more like a win win situation. Kind of like i’m taking into account what he likes and what I like. And I thought she was saying he liked when she dresses girly and it wasn’t necessarily her favorite back then but now she loves it. Still serving him in the way you dress by catering to the colors or styles he likes but in versions you like. So if he likes when you wear flowers finding a floral top/dress you love and then can wear so you both are excited about your clothes. You because the top is cute and your husband because he feels love (even if he doesn’t know it) because you heard him and showed him that you heard him and care about what he likes.

Our body is not our own, our life is not our own. We must do everything unto the Lord. Our body is a temple of the Holy Spirit. We must respect Him in all our ways, and that means to respect our bodies. We must ask if we're wearing stuff that makes us look good for our own self esteem, that is all about us, our image, our wanting to look good to feel good about ourselves. When we know that we're Gods, we don't have to wear anything to make us feel "better" about ourselves. We already love how God has made us! We can wear beautiful clothes that cover us, don't show us off, are comfortable and feel amazing about it all at the same time :)

I love that you feel good about the clothes you are wearing and feel a break from the bondage that it was holding on you! I do think it is important to note that dressing modestly and being free from clothing bondage does not mean you have to dress in girly florals and dresses all the time. Femininity looks different for each woman, and I do think that wearing a button up or oversized blazer etc is fine. You said to dress modestly and avoid tight clothing, but then said not to wear baggy clothing like the oversized button ups or blazers? I often find those are helpful to hide my feminine shape a bit in outfits that may show my figure more esp since modest clothing can be a little more limited in options for myself. I think your style/ your husbands personal style for you may be those cute girly florals but I don’t see a need to generalize it to every women unless there is some scripture I missed that outlines a women needing to dress this way! Also, about the point you made of not dressing for yourself at all, I find it interesting that the clothes you wear are mostly likely clothes you like still. I think inevitably we will wear clothes that we find cute because we need to wear something and are going to gravitate buying clothes that are our style. Just want to remind you that your personal preferences are not necessarily needed to be generalized to all women. But love your journey close to God and your heart to glorify him in your every choice!

This 👏🏻 I was trying to find the words but you stated this so perfectly. Modesty is unfortunately not something that the Bible has black and white dos and don’ts. Modesty is above all else, a posture of your heart. I grew up in a very strict denomination that was actually recognized by the FBI at one point for being a cult. One of the biggest parts of that group was how the women were told to dress. They all dressed “modestly” but their hearts were still hateful and unkind. I love this journey that you have been on Milena but so important to remember that Modesty starts in the heart and works it’s way out. This will look differently for every women and THATS OK!

If a man stops going to church because he cannot control himself he needs therapy… not for women to dress differently. And that’s coming from a person who naturally leans “modest.” Also… if you’re married… your husband should decide what you wear?? Why?? I’m sorry, I don’t mean to come off rude, but some of the reasons behind this are concerning to me. I just don’t get it.

I think dresses and skirts may be practical for you to wear on a daily basis, but they really aren’t for me in my job and home life. Is there no way for me to be feminine because I prefer jeans? I don’t think it’s right to assert that if a guy can wear something (like jeans) you shouldn’t be. Sounds very legalistic to me. I totally agree with the modesty part, and the questioning your heart and motives. I appreciate your message on that, but it seems your implying that dresses and skirts are the only way to look feminine and be modest and that’s not true at all. Maybe you just meant that for you that was the case🤷‍♀️ but I definitely know it’s not that way for every woman and we shouldn’t box each other in with our own convictions. The Bible commands us to be modest and appropriate, but no where does it have a list of clothing you should and shouldn’t wear💕

Hi. I read your comment and would like to offer a response. Not sure if Milena will answer or not. First, I believe Milena is not telling anyone how to dress or to place her convictions on others. I know it can be exhausting to keep giving disclaimers like “this is my conviction, I’m not telling you to you have to dress/think like me”. 😊 Secondly, when we read the Bible we have to remember that the Bible was originally written in Greek, Hebrew, and Aramaic. That being said, we have to look at what the original text meant. “Modest Apparel” mentioned in 1 Timothy 2:9-10 (KJV) means Kosmisos Katastola in Greek. which means “long flowing garment”. Back then they all knew what Kosmisos Katastola meant and followed that teaching. It’s our modern society that has changed the definition of “modest apparel”. We cannot take scriptures and filter it through our own will/lifestyle. We have to take the scriptures and apply how it was intended. I hope this helps. I will he happy to answer any more questions. 😊 God bless.

I was contemplating this as well. I mean, there is Deuteronomy 22:5 that discourages men and women both from dressing as the opposite gender. But what is feminine is a very broad arena. What I get here is search your heart, and find what the Lord is asking to do. Then, do it. It is easy to become defensive of the way I dress, for example, but when I pause and really ask the Lord what to do, he softens my heart. For me, the more convicting aspect she spoke about is dressing in a way that makes my husband happy. Not in a weird way, but because I genuinely love him and want to make him happy/proud of us. So, if he doesn't mind jeans, or if he does - is a very relationship specific nuance. And, I think the conversation can equally go the opposite way - my husband wants to dress / present himself in a way that I appreciate for the same reasons. Submission and headship can be graceful and beautiful when it is handled between two respectful, willing partners.

I love the way God has been working through you lately 👏🏻 it’s been about a year and a half since my femininity and modesty journey started, and it’s truly amazing how much it shifted for me. I adopted a dress only wardrobe because I realized I prefer dresses over skirts and blouses. It felt so good to get rid of everything else - never thought I’d stop wearing jeans but one day, they just felt wrong 😂 now I have a very specific style when it comes to dresses I like, and the same with colour palette. And it makes getting ready so easy. I’ve found I get complimented more as soon as I started wearing modest dresses, mostly by older women and it’s been so sweet.

I want to resonate with everything you said, but it’s just so hard for me to accept that wearing dresses and skirts is the only way to look feminine. I have a ton of different ones for church but on a weekly basis, I find them so many of them impractical and I dread wearing them unless it’s for a nicer event where I’m expected to. Growing up and now I do lots of manual, physical labor outside and never wore dresses on typical days because they got in the way and would get super dirty. So that means I can’t be feminine? It’s hard because it seems that so many women equate anything other than dresses and skirts with being masculine and not as God honoring - even if the outfit is modest and girly.

@@skyelynnae But even scrubs...they are an example of modernity & masculinity. Women ALWAYS wore dress uniforms as nurses, even up until the 70s. So scrubs are not really a valid excuse. Wearing something that flatters your body is different than wearing something that calls attention to your body and is “sexy”. Hi, I'm 9 min in and I just wanna say so kindly that I'm not trying to be rude or anything to you or anyone who are similar in your modesty journey. Also, I must say some of the things you're saying in the video I used to say. And that i come from someone who struggled with lustful thoughts as a woman towards men and women. I feel like there are many contradictions to what people say including myself, when they say things like, "I shouldn't wear this if I like how it looks on me." But on the flip side we don't want to look like a sac of potatoes. I'm really confused like I get it because I'm getting older and usually when we get older (24) our wardrobe really changes but I pose a question. Why is it when men wear tight clothes such as shirts, jeans, or shorts it's normal, but when a woman does it's immodest or causing others to stumble? Or if women wear skinny jeans or anything tight it's harlotry, but when a man does it's feminine or in other words fruity. No, I'm not saying wear whatever, but I'm genuinely confused and I hope you know that I'm not trying to bash you because I think that it's really cool to bring us on your journey, but I'm giving food for thought. Also, what about swim suits? I hope you and everyone reading this will understand. Blessings!

I hear what you’re saying. I’m watching this as someone who dresses “immodestly”. However, I think we women we need to be aware of the fact that we have bodies that people are going to want to look at, just naturally. It’s just a fact! Men as well. If a man is dressing in a tight shirt and stuff naturally you may look over and look. The issue with what you are saying here is you are filtering your thoughts through a culture lense, meaning what culture tells you is ok and what is not. I think the goal for us all as Christians is to filter our thoughts through Gods lense. After watching this video I’m not going to be purging my closet, but I will be thinking more about what I wear, not for the satisfaction of others but for the Lord. I encourage you to think about it as well! Speak to the Lord about it even if it bothers you, bc honestly I’m bothered by this video!! But I know it’s because I’m convicted inside. Think about it! ❤

Hi Milena, I think the message of glorifying the Lord in all you do, both in word and action, is beautiful and powerful. It is important as Christians that we don't just talk the talk but walk the walk. I appreciate what you said about this, so thank you. I do just want to offer additional perspective on a couple of the anecdotes you shared regarding modest dress. When you said that you have heard directly from your brothers in Christ that they can't go to church anymore because they are too tempted, this makes my heart extremely sad. I agree that it is disrespectful to be showing your entire chest like you said; however, I do question the effort on the man's part to remedy their experience, as church's main focal point is Christ and worshiping Him. I find it hard to believe that they cannot enter their church anymore because they are too tempted by what women are wearing there. I just feel that there are perhaps other layers to that particular situation, and as you also said in your video, we all need to take responsibility for our actions. I will pray that these men might find a community in which they can be called onto holiness, but I don't feel that they no longer can attend church due to the way women are dressing. Also, in regards to what you've heard about women being nicer to women who dress more modestly, I would just counter that we all are called to be kind to one another, no matter how someone is dressed. I understand that someone who is dressed immodestly might come across as more intimidating, as you said, and this may lead to comparison. However, Jesus dined with, healed, and conversed with those who were considered intimidating and immodest in his society, and we are called to meet Christ in the other person, regardless of how they are dressed. First impressions are powerful, 100%; however, we are not called to look on the outside, rather at the heart, and I think that disregarding or immediately judging or labeling someone as intimidating because of how they are dressed is not fully seeing them as Christ calls us. By no means am I trying to twist your words, so I hope that I understood what you shared correctly. Just wanted to offer an additional perspective. God bless you and your family 💛

I really love that you brought up how dressing modestly to not cause a brother to stumble pisses off some women. The fact that they get pissed off, also pisses me off LOL Because the world has twisted our minds into thinking that dressing provocatively is okay and shows female empowerment, and that men need to control themselves. Trust me I agree that they absolutely do, but I think the women is at fault too. I know people hate the phrase "she's asking for attention" but to me It kinda feels true??? We all need to look into what our heart posture is when we put on something that does not glorify the lord and might tempt other men.

I feel like we are each in a separate spiritual journey, and the hope spirit speaks to everyone differently. I agree with Milena on this one only because the Holy Spirit has spoken this to my heart as well. It’s not that she’s taking it to an extreme it’s just a conviction she may feel that others don’t.

She is practically thinking through how she can implement honor and respectfulness to the Lord and her lord (husband). It isn’t that you NEED to only wear dresses, but we get to and they are distinct to women in a beautiful way. It is undeniable that we dress for others, whether to impress people around, to show off ourselves to others, to honor our God or to put ourselves in the position of god and dress to please ourselves. It is always for someone, whether it is apparent to you or not. My your heart delight in 1 Corinthians 10:31 ❤

hi love! i believe faith along with convictions are not a one size fits all situation. it’s completely valid you feel the way you do,but it’s not an “extreme” for her. One individual can become convicted of a specific thing, while another doesn’t feel that over said thing. it doesn’t mean one is correct or more holy than the other. in my opinion it merely means one of them struggled with unclean thoughts or feelings provoked by that specific thing. like she says in this video, certain pieces of clothing caused her to feel very attractive even “ sexy” or lustful while wearing them. she’s decided to solve the problem she won’t be wearing them anymore. Which is a beautiful sentiment! all love, blessings to you 🤍

I love listening to these modesty testimonies! This past summer Ive really felt the desire to feminize my wardrobe, and hearing you say things like “if a man could wear this, i shouldn’t” is identical to some of the “my clothes are androgynous” epiphanies I’ve had! Thank you for sharing! It wonderful getting confirmation from a fellow sister in Christ that my thinking is in line with the Lord’s desires!

Yesssss, same for me!!! I used to love playing dress up when it was the old me dressing provocatively, and so when I wear winter clothes I love the layers, but now in summer I have no clue, lol so I think I hide behind the casual pants and oversized shirts and just lazy apparel but I know I can get my act together with this change! We all can have fun with it and show up for our husbands and show out for God's glory!😊❤ **no offense meant at all for single sisters!

On the same journey! It’s been rough, but so encouraging to hear other women my age have this on their heart. I’m in the same place with my jeans on hold too, but I honestly feel so uncomfortable wearing anything other than a dress/skirt at this point. Also I totally have noticed that people in public are kinder now that I wear dresses. It seems people hold doors for me more and offer to help me with groceries to my car. Things of that nature. I think when you show your femininity it makes men around you step up & be more chivalrous.

A man who can't go to church for fear of being tempted by cleavage is a man who will find any way to sexualize a woman's body. There is grave danger in women taking responsibility and blame for this type of behavior. Please please please be weary of introducing that type of idea to the conversation... it gets way way way too close to "she was asking for it" type arguments.

Truth be told I feel so weird about the fact that when Christian women start dressing modestly, they start looking like 'Little House in the Prairie' wearing potato sack lookalikes. I don't want to look like that! 😅 Why is it bad if I want to wear dresses and skirts and pants that are form fitting - that's feminine, too. Women are still kind to me, my husband enjoys how I look like and I enjoy my clothes as well. 🤷

I do understand and share your thinking/heart on convenience, wanting to be modest etc. But, and this is for everyone out there, there are thousands of ways to dress modestly. It doesn't have to look like you live in a farm back in the 60s. Nor does it have to be dresses only to feel feminine. To me it does not seem practical for the four seasons. It s cute in spring/summer time and it s breathable. Not sure it s going to keep you warm in the cooler months. Sometimes a good sweater and a comfy pair of trousers/classic soft jeans is just a simple yet modest feminine option. And I really like to see women put their unique touch to their clothing style...this is feminine to me. You lost a little bit of personality IMHO. Not to be rude, your intentions is to speak truth for sure. I m just not totally convinced by this whole change of yours (not your hearth) as it s something I Ve seen somewhere else already (dresses are in style right now for ex.) and I somehow think you have been influenced once again, even if it s in a positive way. You just change your role models. I think God wants you to be unique and you will get there

my husband experienced being set free by the Lord. He practiced a clothing fast where he wore only a few outfits for 40 days that he didn’t normally wear and the Lord showed him that it’s okay to dress in the colorful way that he liked. And that it was okay to enjoy fashion and it wasn’t dishonoring to God. I also would warn you against “sprinkling conviction” as that’s the Holy Spirit’s job and not ours as believers. Be blessed.

I'm there. I'm so in this chapter right now! I've been feeling the conviction to downsize and modify my wardrobe yet again. When I was saved in 2019, my very sexy clothes I was all about was one of the first things to go immediately, I was not even hesitant, it's amazing how God works in us if we are truly willing to seek Him and His ways. So now, I'm ready to dress for my husband and not so casually lazy, if I'm honest, lol but yeah I just am struggling with the getting started part. But this video was definitely a godsend, sister, so thank you!! I have a starting point and I'm confident and it truly sounds fun to go on this journey of creativity. Thank you sooooo much!!!🙌😊💪

Yes! You absolutely can! Always remember that things said by Christians online are not gospel. I LOVE Milena and she has been such a blessing in the season I’m in learning to be a wife and mother. But I had to seriously check myself a few weeks ago when I realized that I was just following whatever she did without seeking the lord on how it applies to me first. The things she’s speaking about are so true but applied differently for everyone! Please read the word and talk to a pastor or older mentor in your life if you have specific questions. It’s so important to keep us from blindly following. Trust me, I am speaking to myself. ❤

Just my opinion, but I think dressing modestly is more about how you are treating your body. I think you can wear anything you want, as long as you're not overly sexual, and you are keeping your body clean so that the holy Spirit can reside in you. And I mean like actually clean like, having good hygiene, making sure the clothing we wear is clean and kept up. I love experimenting with different styles, but have also been very strict with "modesty" my whole life. So I definitely wear skinny jeans, and I'll do street style, and I'll do vintage skirts and dresses, I even went through a hipster stage. There's ways to do any style you like in a way that respects the temple that your body is. I get what she's saying, dresses really can help us feel more feminine and focus on the roles we are given as women, but I really don't think you have to dress that way on a daily basis to be a woman of Christ.

I dress for myself to make myself feel good. I workout for myself to make myself feel good. When I feel good about myself I can pour love into my husband my kids, and god. Having a relationship with god and honoring our husband isn’t just about the clothes we put on our body. I’m sorry I can still dress “modest” and men who struggle will still have those thoughts they struggle with. Pray for them but don’t change how you dress and who are because of that. Idk this one is a miss for me.

You said it yourself “I dress for myself” …when she first started the video she said she realized she was dressing to glorify her body. Instead of dressing to glorify God. We get our strength to pour into our family from the lord. If you think using clothes relates to pouring into your family, I urge you to pray for God alone to sustain you. There are other ways to pour into our husband and kids that don’t involve wearing things to glorify our curves and our body. You are right, men will still lust even if we dress modestly. But we are still called to glorify God despite what man thinks. No one is saying you have to hate your wardrobe, but we are called to glorify the Lord with our bodies and with our wardrobe. Instead of satisfying the flesh.

What makes us feel good isn't always right, we must seek to glorify God. Is my life glorifying God? If i wear really tight leggings and a bra to go to the gym, does that glorify God? I might like to use leggings because they are comfy but i honestly wouldnt go out looking like that because of the attention i may draw and I wouldnt be giving good testimony of Christ. For example, she just used that example about her husband so we can understand that if she is causing her husband to feel that way towards her with the clothes she's wearing then it might not be such a good idea to wear that in public. I myself have been dressing modest for the last 8 years, I'm 27, and by modest I mean wearing dresses, loose fitting clothes (I'llwear pants but make sure theyre loose), not showing my breast or legs and sometimes at home I'll be wearing some cute lingerie or a long tight dress for my hubby but I definitely wouldn't let anyone else see me in a dress like that because only my husband should know what's underneath my clothes. And you are right about it not just being about the clothes we put on our body, it's a process that starts on the inside, your inner "clothes" first and then you will reflect that on the outside, just like Milena, I've seen God's hand in her life because she used to think wayyyy differently and the change started inside out, the same happened to me, I let my flesh and old self die so I can be renewed and I have a new way of viewing things, I no longer seek to feel good with what I like, instead I say, "God, does this glorify you? Do you like that I do this? Or dress like that? Or say this or that?"

Hey milena! I have some questions where I feel like I’m kinda racking my brain a bit trying to understand. 1. My husband does not prefer lustful clothing but he and I both like a mom jean and a flannel. He finds that most beautiful and that has always been a style that I feel does not reveal my body at all, and I feel feminine in it. Does scripture mention florals and dresses as more God honoring? 2. How do I wear something where I feel pretty but also not wear something based on how I feel. How do I look at a piece of fabric and determine how much it honors God (aside from obviously lustful clothing). The clarification that we don’t want to look like potato sacks, but also don’t want to dress for ourselves is confusing. Where is the line drawn? Waist definition? That seems to be a common and “appropriate” theme in these dresses. But definition around other bodyparts (obviously exclude overt sexual body part) is a problem? 3. How do you contend with swim suits. - I’d assume you’d wear a 1 piece that shows your legs. But the reasoning would likely be “wearing that piece of clothing for its purpose not for a lustful look” but when working out, the most practical items are going to be leggings and a slightly more fitted top. (So you can adjust form, not get too hot etc) - in this why does the function of a swimsuit outweigh the lack of coverage but not a workout outfit. I’d assume there are full body swimming dresses out there but I don’t think most of us would agree to that (too hot, uncomfortable) 4. Overall having a hard time why you wouldn’t go full floral long sleeve mumu with hair covering. The line does not seem to be clear. Wouldn’t that be the ultimate covering and God honoring outfit as defined by the parameter in this video? These are GENUINE questions and coming from a place of genuine confusion and I would love to hear your answers!!!! ❤❤❤

I have the same questions! I’ve been sitting on this video since she released it and I’ve come to the conclusion to just be happy for her in HER clothing journey and know that God works through everyone’s life with personal convictions. I saw another comment like this but years ago the lord told me to put more time into myself. To actually wear makeup. My mom died when I was young, and I was never taught how to do make up well, so I never wore it. But it also caused me to just feel horrible about myself. The I felt like the Lord was like “please take better care of yourself, put on the make up.” I no longer carry shame. In the same since I have really good friends that the Lord asked to stop wearing make up. That made sense for their journey since they were in bondage to it. We have a God that looks at our heart and will direct our steps in the way that we, as individuals, need to go. And thank the lord for that !! 🙌🏼💗

Milena… this is THE BEST video… this is really the biggest issue among young women and youth today. I can testify that I had been SO brainwashed to believing my worth is external validation. I was convicted praying with God about my husband and how hurt I am when he looks at other women, and then He revealed my heart to me while I was getting dressed how hypocritical I have been and the lack of grace I’ve had towards my husband because when I get dressed, it’s for the world and attention and not the Lord. I can’t show any mid section skin anymore, it feels so wrong. Thank you for this and I pray other women listen!!

Hey Milena, I love the heart of your message, and definitely feel convicted by what you’re saying about being in bondage to clothing and how we look. I do want to push back on the idea that your body is not yours… I agree that we are temples of the Holy Spirit and also that ‘all I am I give to you’ ‘with my body I honour you’ etc absolutely describes giving/sharing our bodies with our husbands, however your body IS yours, because you ARE your body. Milena can’t exist without her body, I don’t exist outside of mine. God made us as embodied beings, not floating souls. I think as Christians we’re quick to detach ourselves from our bodies and treat them simply as vessels, when actually the fact that we have bodies is so central. Just think, even Jesus had a body! I could talk about the theology of the body for ever, but as I said, I just wanted to challenge your idea that your body isn’t yours. The most empowering thing I’ve heard recently - ‘my body is for me to live in, not for other people to look at’. My body is mine. I am my body. Everyday I put to death the desires of my flesh, and clothe myself in righteousness 🤍

I think Milena is very inspired by Paul in the New Testament who was very much in to “this life is borrowed, we are temporary, surrender, don’t get attached, etc.” But I do like what you’re saying. I’m a Paul fan, but I also know he wasn’t the only writer in the Bible. I’d be curious if she draws inspiration from other writers of the New Testament and women.

Maybe she IS drawing from other writers in the New Testmanent and I haven’t stumbled across them yet and made a correlation.

Please keep being you. And making videos about what you do. You’ve changed my life in such a positive way, and my relationship. Inspired me to honor the Lord truly, with all my heart, and continue to grow in this way. She is my main source of inspo. Thank you, Milena! 💖💖💖 of course, bible first. 💞😊 Love love love!!!

Hi Milena! I'm one of those people who loves your content and watches your videos until the last second, but almost never comments because I'm usualy watching on the tv while cleaning 😂 BUT, this video was so good that I went and grabed my phone just to write a comment saying: thank you! Your modest journey is beautiful to see and I'm learning a lot with your testimony. I can understand all the little things that you are adressing and that usually would irritated people, me included, but I can see the love of Jesus in your words and then all those angry arguments just disapare. So thank you for accepting the calling to share this, I'm really, really greatefull for your life and for being one of the women who can be blessed by your words. Thank you! ❤

Milena!! Thank you so much for this video-this is truly such a blessing! As a teenage girl who does dress modestly, I was extremely convicted when you asked “Why do you like that piece of clothing?” It made me realise that although I dress modestly, my intention was to wear clothes that I thought were flattering, or would make me feel good about my body-which is not glorifying to the Lord. I definitely will need to be doing a lot of heart searching and praying about this 🤎

This can be balanced with John Paul II’s Theology of the Body. It’s a bit of a misnomer to say that we should not dress to “show off” our bodies. That can easily lead to gnosticism and, frankly, misogyny about the female form. Instead, is there a way to honor our feminine from (God said “GOOD” over us) while practicing humility?

Love this!!! I am trying to minimize my wardrobe, having trouble with dresses bc I don’t want to feel limited, or like I’m having to wear the same clothes all the time. I do love dresses! Also love skirts and tops, and loose, flowy pants for when I’m not feeling like wearing a dress or skirt
