"No Longer You" FULL ANIMATIC || EPIC the Musical

The full song dropped 3 days ago and I immediately started work on the continuation of the preview I had posted back then. I know I stated that the full animatic won't be released until May 2024, but I worked hard to get this out into the world ASAP, and now I have! I really hope you enjoy this :) I pushed the envelope a little more here by using After Effects especially towards the final sequence.

I love how TIresias it's being so straightforward but Ody isnt getting the hint so Tiresias sings about Penelope to make Odyseus shut up and pay attention and then sings louder to make his point clear. It's just beutiful

This animation actually made me realize when Tiresias says “I see you draw your final breath”he’s talking about ever ounce of peace in Odysseus. His docile tiredness of violence is what dies while he fights Poseidon and so he takes on ruthlessness so he can return home and he’s no longer him. Edit: Breath not breathe.

This was awesome and very well done! I love the imagery that reflects what the prophet is saying when he says what he sees in the prophecy, I also love the hooded figures at the end in the style of "Hellfire", since you said that you took inspiration in what Jorge said about his inspiration for the end, that he himself took inspiration of "Hellfire" for the end, and of course I can't leave this comment without saying that I also loved Odysseus's famous "WHO!?", jokes aside I think that we can all agree that Ody's "WHO!?" is awesome and that’s exactly why we joke about it, you can really feel the passion and anger in it, all the emotion, an anger that is born from his worry and concern for his wife since he doesn't want to see her in danger or hurt by a man who's clearly so dangerous and he also gets furious at the man who would dare hurt her in any way, but I think it's also very obvious that his "WHO?!" is also born and full of jealousy since he doesn't want to imagine his wife in the arms of another man, another thing that you can hear in the song in the end is Penelope's motif but with horns, you can hear the way that Odysseus would sing "Penelope" for example in the first song "The Horse and the Infant" but with horns, and just before it you can hear the "Waiting" motif in the melody of the song and the chorus following that melody, you can also hear the "Waiting" motif at the beginning of the song but without the chorus, or well, you can still hear voices there but are very subdued and low compared to the end, and honestly taking into account how this song goes and what it says and also future songs like "The Challenge" where the "Waiting" motif also appears and Penelope sings "Waiting" with the motif like Ody's mother did in "The Underworld" I think that it represents that Penelope is waiting for Odysseus at home like his mother was and that she is also in grave danger and that if Ody doesn't get in time to his home and to her it could be too late for her like it was for his mother and she would also have a terrible fate like Ody's mother because he took too long and didn't get there in time, we know this because we know the suitors and Antinous's plans, if Ody didn't get in time Antinous and the suitors would be able to carry out what he plans, and then what Tiresias talks about in the song "I see your palace covered in red, faces of men who had long believed you're dead, I see your wife with a man who is haunting, a man with a trail of bodies" wouldn't be talking about Odysseus himself and he wouldn't be the one to cover his palace in red with the blood of the suitors and he wouldn't be the haunting man with a trail of bodies that is with his wife, but knowing what the suitors plan they would be the ones to cover the palace in red if they were able to carry out Antinous's plans, specifically Antinous since he is the one who made the plan in the first place, and then the haunting man with a trail of bodies that would be with Ody's wife wouldn't be Ody but Antinous since we know the terrible plans that he has for her, plans that aren't only about marrying her like it seems at first but then when he plans with the rest of the suitors he plans about raping her, all of that would happen if Ody didn't get in time to his home and his wife, then that part of the prophecy wouldn't be talking about him, which it may be, yes, but only because he is in time, if he weren't then it would be talking about what I've just now said, all of the destruction and bloodshed in Ody's palace would be caused by the suitors and the man with Penelope that is haunting and that has a trail of bodies would be Antinous and she would have a terrible fate like Ody's mother because he didn't get to his home and to her in time, so basically this prophesy could have doble meaning and be fulfilled in two different ways depending on whether Ody would get in time or not, that's an intelligent way of writing and making the prophesy, also just before the end of the song where the horns play Penelope's motif in the part where the "Waiting" motif is played and the chorus also sing in full blast following the melody of that motif you can also hear the chorus sing "Odysseus", it may be difficult to hear at first and it isn't so clear but if you pay close attention to it you'll hear it, the chorus seems to pronunciate the name "Odysseus", you can even clearly hear the "s" at the end of the name which is sang twice while the "Waiting" motif plays before the horns play Penelope's motif, signifying that the man that the song is talking about is Odysseus and also that Penelope is waiting for Odysseus to return home to her like his mother was, but that it's a race against time like it was with his mother and that she's in grave danger and he has to get to his home in time before it ends up being too late for her like it was with his mother and she ends up having a terrible fate because he didn't get in time, this song is such a masterpiece and it simply has so much in it

Dude, This was Amazing, i put this into a playlist along with other full animatics, so i could watch the whole of Act 1 as if it was sort of movie. I was a bit worried the last few animatics would look too rushed given how recent the saga is. I am glad i was wrong.

I love when Tiresias says that he sees past and future running free and most of the first verse can be viewed as both what has happened in the past and what is to come in the future. "I sing a song of past romance," - referencing either his past romance with Circe or Penelope, or future "romance," with Calypso "I see the sacrifice of man," -referencing the men who have previously died or the future when his men die. "I see portrayals of betrayal," -either his "betrayal" to Athena or his future betrayal of choosing his crew by choosing Penelope and Telemachus over their lives. "a brother's final stand," -could be in the past referencing Polites or the future when Eurylochus dies. "I see you on the brink of death"- could reference a lot of different plot points, Odysseus has dangerous tendencies lol "I see you draw your final breath," -I believe this references him choosing to embrace the monster, killing the kindness in him that Polities tried to ingrain in him. This could also be viewed "final breath," before he drops the infant and makes that choice to choose his family, no matter the cost (that may be a stretch) "I see a man who gets to make it home alive, but it's no longer you," Odysseus becomes the monster and gets home, but at what cost? He is no longer the man that left Ithaca all those years ago.

Tiresias was vague enough in his prophecies that it can be interpreted so many ways. I feel like this is what frustrates !Epic Odysseus so much especially given he just came from the devastation of seeing his dead best friend and realizing that his mother had died in his absence

The animation of Tiresias' final lines and after reminded me so much of some older animated films. I don't know why but I want to say it reminds me of some older Don Bluth or Disney films. It just gave me such a sense of nostalgic heebie-jeebies (positive)

This was incredible, I loved every moment and I will be rewatching it many times! I can't pick one thing to talk about, it's all just too amazing. The shift of the prophecies from blue to red near the end was so intense and then the vision of himself flying through him like a ghost, it's so, so amazing!
