The freedom to explore planets and solar systems in an almost infinite galaxy kept my love for this game alive all these years. I got this game for Christmas two years ago, I thought it would be just as bad as it was on launch, but I decided “what the heck”. NMS absolutely blew my expectations clear out of the water. The amount of polishing you’ve done, the amount of dedication to that half-baked game players were left with on release, that love for your project is something that all game studios, indie or otherwise should strive for. No wonder NMS and Terraria were nominated for Labor of Love, and, like Re-Logic you have forever earned my respect.

100% agree, I've only played around half that many hours across platforms but am also a day 1 player who never lost faith in the game and patiently waited to see what the studio would do. I was simply too busy loving the aesthetic, the music and most of all, the exploration of strange and beautiful worlds. There was a time when all I would do is go to work, come home, play this game, write music inspired by my journeys and do very little else. I still play regularly but this game rekindled my love of exploration which I lost sometime during my childhood. It's always been a comfort to play. Its take on nihilism is so beautiful and is such a relaxing game to play that it can always help me find my centre. Even more recently after constantly moving during a housing crisis, I've found the game therapeutic in that I can claim as many planets, star systems and other things as I like, and build to my heart's content, being almost entirely self-sufficient. I'm currently building a geomagnetically-powered, fully automated mansion in-game, on a planet with abundant creatures, gravity storms, purple skies and planetary rings as far as the eye can see. These last few years worth of updates have changed the game in such radical and interesting ways, I can't wait to see what's to come next! Thank you Hello Games 💜

I am waiting till they add an overhaul to exploration, farming and discovery, they really need to now concentrate on more updates like Origins but with more variety, crafting tables to craft new things, foraging new things, collecting new resources while walking on a planet, variety in land vehicles, new alien races, NEW space station missions, new crystals, ores in caves, even fishing would be cool, collect fish and store them in fish tanks in our home base, alien fruits on trees, just weird space shite everywhere to see.

@@Solstice261 yeah but they promised procedural generation, its NOT. If it was, everything would be constantly changing. Like at the start of every trailer it says, every rock, fish, flower, tree, bird, etc is proceduraly generated and it isnt.

@@DanielKing-dk5nr no procedural generation works like that, it's more like hou know rooms changing, or in this case geography and random combinations. Technology can't currently invent new plants, those have to be modelled individually or by parts and the procedural generation sticks them together. It would be cool having what you ask but bigger studios can't do it hello games shouldn't really try, I think they have paid their debt. Of course you may not be interested in the game I respect that

@@Solstice261 yes it can, Sean did a video on IGN about making creatures, he made one, then he clicked on variant and it made hundreds of creatures from that one creature, he clicked variant again and MORE were created.

I bought the game at launch. I had no idea what to expect. But i had feeling despite all of missing features this was going to be supported and then the first update and the next and next... The game started to take shape. I also contributed to what would later become the Artimis storyline during one of the ARGs. It had to do with death and being in a simulation. Pretty cool to see that made enough of an impact to warrent being in the game. I have a few more ideas and you'll hear from me soon. But most of all, thank you for making a game that allows those of us born before the time where we can explore stars, to do so in some form.
